00:00 Lions head coach Dan Campbell gained great perspective watching the 49ers
00:03 defeat the Cowboys on Sunday night football. John, what are your thoughts
00:07 regarding that from coach Campbell? Yeah, it's real interesting. You know,
00:12 I do think that when when football coaches get back to the office after a
00:16 nice victory, they review the film and then on Sunday night you have an
00:19 opportunity to kind of watch a premier team like the 49ers and Cowboys really
00:24 gives you some insight regarding two teams in the NFC that the Lions could
00:28 end up facing. So Dan Campbell definitely, you know, when he addressed
00:32 the media following the Lions resounding victory over the Panthers
00:36 on Monday, he discussed with reporters in his media session, just kind of,
00:42 you know, the fact that the Lions offense is creative, the defense is
00:45 playing violent and just how fun the roster is having. And he indicated that
00:50 when you look at the 49ers who kind of I think people caught on, they used a
00:56 similar trick play that the Lions did in regards to getting a tight end open.
00:59 So Dan Campbell focused on the fact that yes, he got great perspective by
01:04 seeing the 49ers dominate a Cowboys team by seeing similarities in what his
01:09 team brings a violent physical football team. You see the 49ers use all kind of
01:14 offensive plays. Kyle Shanahan is an offensive guru and does great things
01:18 with quarterbacks. So I think Dan Campbell definitely got a sense of this
01:23 is what one of the top teams does in the NFC and his team does a lot of the
01:28 same things. And I think that it gives him great confidence knowing that if
01:32 the Detroit Lions continue to grow, if they continue to get better with that
01:36 young roster, I think the belief is going to continue to grow as well to
01:40 the point where they can believe that they can compete with the likes of the
01:42 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys in the playoffs. So I think it's a good
01:47 opportunity for Dan Campbell to kind of see what the top teams are doing and
01:51 to get great perspective on the little intricacies of top teams can only bode
01:57 well for the Detroit Lions as they've started the season four and one
02:00 expectations have now been elevated and it's a young football team that now
02:05 expects to win each and every week. And there's nothing wrong with peeking at
02:10 some of the top teams and seeing and getting a little bit of that initial
02:13 glance and look what the lines might look like if they face the 49ers. It
02:18 would be a dream scenario if it ends up happening in the postseason. John,
02:23 thanks for all the insight.
