Australian journalist Cheng Lei back home after China release

After more than three years in detention in China on national security charges, Australian journalist Cheng Lei has been released and reunited with her two children and family upon her return home.

00:08 has arrived safely here in Melbourne and has been reunited with her two children and her

00:16 She was met at the airport by the Foreign Minister, Penny Wong.
00:21 Her return brings an end to a very difficult few years for Ms Chang and her family.
00:29 This is an outcome that the Australian Government has been seeking for a long period of time
00:34 and her return will be warmly welcomed, not just by her family and friends, but by all
00:42 Australians.
00:43 The Australian Government will continue to provide consular support to Ms Chang and to
00:50 her family.
