00:00 We're really excited to go to Alabama.
00:02 They've got a. Great team.
00:09 Very fiscal big.
00:12 Millrose playing.
00:13 Really good their defenses playing exceptional.
00:17 Got a huge offensive line.
00:22 Burton is a.
00:25 There's a real deal out at wide
00:27 receiver kind of running back
00:29 with McClellan. And Williams.
00:33 Both of them are really,
00:35 really good runners.
00:36 Bonsal exceptional wide receiver,
00:40 so they've got their Alabama and.
00:45 Playing really well right now.
00:47 Big physical football team.
00:50 But we're excited to go over
00:53 there and and and play. Play the game.
00:55 So you said you would say after you
00:59 watched the tape how you thought the
01:03 O line going back to how you had it.
01:08 How that worked, what did you see and then?
01:12 As you address the run game and
01:14 the offense going forward,
01:15 what what has to happen?
01:16 Well, uhm?
01:20 There was so much movement.
01:24 Uhm?
01:25 That. We couldn't stay in front of them.
01:31 We couldn't get basically the prybacks
01:38 and some things like that could
01:41 open some holes up. We just weren't
01:43 quick enough to stay in front of them.
01:45 We practice and knew what they were
01:50 going to do in their mint front.
01:53 To their own player and it just seemed like.
01:57 Now we were overreaching that situation.
02:00 It was almost like we weren't quite.
02:02 Seeing the game.
02:07 Like we had practiced it.
02:12 Maybe maybe their movement was faster
02:15 than what the scout team was able to do.
02:21 But I I think.
02:22 You know, because of the age
02:26 of some of the guys,
02:27 I don't know that we can.
02:30 Make the moves and stay with the moves that.
02:33 That we made there.
02:35 There may be one or two, but.
02:39 You know, I think.
02:39 With bold being a veteran there.
02:45 At center, I think we've got to start
02:47 back there and then work from there.
02:50 No. Some of our problems.
02:56 In the RPO, when we hand the ball off
02:58 and we're not blocking a linebacker.
03:03 When we hand the ball off
03:04 and he makes a play.
03:06 Sometimes it looks like.
03:07 You know, unblocked guy,
03:11 which he is, but it's designed to.
03:14 Throw the football if if he's.
03:17 Well, out of a area and sometimes
03:21 we handed the ball off and that
03:22 there was there was a couple two
03:24 or three times there that.
03:26 Yeah, I made the play and you know
03:28 we weren't accounting for him.
03:30 We were reading here so.
03:34 Got a lot of work to do in that area.
03:37 I do think Ole Miss has a
03:39 really good defense.
03:41 Prove that when they played Alabama as well.
03:43 I had a chance to watch that again.
03:46 But I mean. So.
03:48 We've got to get better penalties.
03:52 No, we're.
03:53 Continue to work on that it's.
03:58 We just gotta keep the noise
04:00 going all the time.
04:01 I believe that might help.
04:04 You know there's the rule
04:06 on that a little bit is.
04:08 You know we've got.
04:10 Linebackers.
04:12 Clenching jumping.
04:15 Yelling move several different times.
04:18 I don't know if that's what
04:20 the rules intended for.
04:21 But we've got to practice it like
04:24 that is the rule and and stay in there better.
04:28 But I wonder with with Brady
04:32 Latham specifically, what are you
04:33 seeing from him on film that's maybe
04:35 causing him to struggle with this year?
04:37 Well, I mean he just.
04:42 He's jumping and I don't
04:45 know how else to say it.
04:47 And slashing whenever they say move.
04:53 Not all the time, but but a lot.
04:55 You know we've got several.
04:57 And.
04:59 I we kind of talked about it after
05:06 the game on Saturday with you know,
05:08 so many close losses is there
05:10 aside from penalties?
05:11 There may be, you know,
05:12 one other a few other common
05:14 denominators in those that you could,
05:16 you know, maybe turn those
05:17 losses to wins.
05:18 Well, I think I think.
05:19 Yeah, I think offensively running
05:21 the ball successfully,
05:23 whatever that may be.
05:25 Now I think this team here,
05:28 Alabama rush for low hundreds
05:30 on Ole Miss as well.
05:33 And not as well we didn't.
05:35 But what I'm saying is the
05:37 consistency of first down.
05:41 We just put myself in a hole all the time.
05:44 We're not winning first downs and
05:46 you know again of three.
05:48 Would get us to second seven.
05:50 We've been playing a lot of second
05:52 10 second 12 second 13,
05:53 so I think that would help us.
05:56 With more drives,
05:57 you know, sustain this and drives.
05:59 Obviously pretty consistent.
06:01 We haven't been very good at scoring
06:03 touchdowns in the red zone.
06:04 When we get down there,
06:07 you know we got a big turn over Saturday.
06:09 I think it was on the 38.
06:12 And you know,
06:13 take a field goal out of it.
06:15 You know that would have been
06:17 a huge momentum for us if we
06:19 would have went down and scored.
06:20 We have to move the pocket.
06:24 We have to move the pocket
06:26 because we can't protect it.
06:27 We can't.
06:28 We can't sit back there and protect protecting.
06:31 And that's OK, we know that.
06:35 So we've got to move the pocket and.
06:39 Defensively, we just gotta get off
06:41 the field on third down a little
06:43 more often. I thought our secondary
06:45 had their by far their best game this year.
06:49 But you know we had a third and 15
06:52 or jump offsides or third and 10
06:54 and and then make the first down so.
06:57 Well, we just gotta be more consistent.
06:59 We gotta, you know, help each other.
07:01 In other words, we know we go down and score.
07:04 We take the lead.
07:05 It's time to get off the field,
07:07 give us the ball back and things
07:09 that nature is gotta play better
07:11 team football and be more consistent.
07:13 We're close, you know.
07:16 For the outside world,
07:17 doesn't look like we've got a
07:19 very good football team.
07:20 I think we do.
07:21 We just gotta find a way like you.
07:23 What you're just asking me and how
07:25 to how to win at the end, Jimmy.
07:27 I know you have to take every game one by one,
07:32 but when the fans saw the schedule
07:34 that you had from this four game
07:36 and this is game number four of it.
07:38 It just looks so daunting and I wonder.
07:41 Are your players able to separate that like?
07:44 And then.
07:46 Get ready for each game and you
07:48 know what I mean, like wipe the slate
07:50 clean and get and get focused on the
07:52 next game. Well, I think you've seen
07:54 that the answer is yes and that you
07:56 know what I mean. It's just a new.
07:58 I understand the question because it's a.
08:00 It's a whole new feeling since I've been here.
08:02 In other words, you know we've always
08:04 started at least three in all,
08:06 you know, and had the life of.
08:08 You know, we've always every year.
08:10 Well, not the first year,
08:12 but you know last two years we were in
08:14 the top 25 and things of that nature.
08:16 And so it's just different.
08:18 I think the BYU game really lingers over.
08:22 You know, and and therefore in one
08:24 they've got a good football team.
08:25 I don't take anything away from him,
08:27 but I think that game really is the one.
08:29 Because if you look at it and you
08:31 go play your heart out at LSU,
08:33 you know you play a good game at
08:35 A&M and then the other night work
08:37 leading in the fourth fourth quarter.
08:39 But we're losing, you know,
08:40 and so it's just different.
08:43 Maybe take the BYU game as well,
08:45 and it happened so you have to take it.
08:48 It's just a different feeling,
08:50 so I think I'm not concerned about
08:52 do we have talent and things of
08:54 that nature to win its it's.
08:56 Where are we in our head?
08:58 Well, each Saturday go out there
09:00 and you know we're playing hard.
09:02 We're getting better.
09:04 We just are still, you know,
09:08 two weeks ago we made no, but you know,
09:10 no penalties and then we come back.
09:13 So we just gotta be consistent.
09:15 But to answer your question.
09:18 You know.
09:20 When you lose your will to fight,
09:22 you're just a survivor, you know,
09:24 and.
09:26 And how long can you just hang on
09:28 to the rope instead of fighting?
09:31 And I think we've got a group of
09:33 fighters and I think I think we'll be fine.
09:35 Obviously we've got Alabama on the road
09:38 and then you know you know we have
09:41 some some home games and.
09:44 But we certainly need to go play
09:47 well against Alabama and see if we.
09:50 We see if we can't steal a win on the road.
09:52 You can tell they're still fighting for you,
09:56 but my question was on the offensive line.
09:58 I mean, you've seen everything in
10:00 your experience in the office of line coach.
10:02 Just curious in the preseason,
10:03 did you see potential issues that
10:06 you're having on the offensive line
10:08 that you're having right now?
10:10 You know what happens when you go
10:12 into situational football.
10:15 And.
10:17 Or there's some things that might.
10:19 Player up.
10:21 In third down.
10:23 You know protection.
10:25 Absolutely.
10:27 The other thing is,
10:28 and when you talk about one,
10:30 it doesn't mean you're talking
10:31 negative about another.
10:32 OK, but you know we had Devin Manuel.
10:35 I think there was a times.
10:38 During.
10:40 Ball camp that I thought he was.
10:43 You know two three best lineman we had.
10:46 And then he basically is not
10:48 played this year, you know.
10:50 Which not only takes away from there,
10:52 but then it takes away from some
10:54 other things that possibly you
10:56 might can do in movement when he
10:58 don't have it that keeps profit was
11:00 another guy that has been hurt.
11:02 It doesn't matter now.
11:05 That's not excuse.
11:06 You ask the question and I have
11:08 had some player that yes it did,
11:10 but not quite as much.
11:12 You know,
11:12 because we were a little healthier
11:14 at that point, had a few more
11:16 things we could do.
11:17 How to fix that you know you might get out of.
11:25 Of man schemes, in other words,
11:28 it's like if you're having slide
11:30 protection and you know you had backup,
11:32 so I don't have this guy,
11:35 particularly just one on one.
11:36 Now tackles are different 'cause
11:38 if they stay outside, you're not.
11:40 You know you can chip out and things
11:42 that nature, but if they blitz,
11:45 you can't, you know, 'cause you're
11:46 taking your chip out of it.
11:48 But if I'm in a slide,
11:50 I know I got back up.
11:52 I got back up.
11:53 Especially when you run a true gap scheme.
11:56 I'm everybody's going this way.
11:57 Someone's pulling got moves.
11:59 I got back up.
12:00 I got back up.
12:01 I got back up when you play when
12:03 you're in a man scheme which it
12:05 could be on the backside you're
12:07 reading the linebacker something
12:08 like that now I'm one on one over here.
12:12 OK, but over here if anybody crosses
12:15 face I have no backup.
12:17 So I think I think some of the
12:19 plays that were running.
12:21 We gotta back each other up.
12:22 We're just not.
12:23 We're not there right now where we can go.
12:26 OK, you can whip him.
12:28 You can whip him.
12:29 You can whip him.
12:31 It's gotta be.
12:32 If he moves,
12:33 someone's going to help me with this and.
12:36 I think that's a little bit
12:38 more where we're headed.
12:41 Ian, so we can have some type
12:43 of success running the football.
12:45 It's the same way in in past protection.
12:48 There's things that's called as true gap
12:50 schemes where you're just everybody sliding.
12:52 Now they can beat you to off the edge.
12:55 If you don't watch it.
12:57 But some of those things.
12:59 We have to do to cover up for movement.
13:03 We're not handling.
13:05 It's not so much that we're getting.
13:08 Just grilled one on one.
13:12 It's.
13:12 We've we've got to have ability.
13:17 Excuse me.
13:18 If they're not moving,
13:19 we've got to have ability to back
13:22 each other up in our run game.
13:25 Because we're getting so much more
13:27 and movement spending glaring thing for us.
13:32 And it's had a little bit of getting
13:36 hit so many times and stuff.
13:37 You think maybe he's also I'm sure I
13:39 know he holds himself to high standard
13:41 in this offense still thinking about
13:43 what they're doing, trying to be
13:45 perfect and all that stuff and
13:47 ultimately having those issues.
13:48 I think so.
13:49 I think he's pressing to try.
13:51 I mean, you know, I think everybody
13:53 could understand if he was,
13:55 you know, I think he's press and it's his.
13:57 Senior year all you know a
13:59 lot of things on his mind.
14:01 He would be better at answering with me,
14:03 but that's what I believe that
14:05 that he's probably pressing and.
14:08 He also has way more on his plate,
14:10 much more on his plate now than he ever has.
14:15 And so it's been.
14:16 It's been, I'm sure, difficult for him.
14:20 But I I do believe that he
14:25 could really thrive and shine.
14:28 If we just protected him a little bit better.
14:31 You notice in the games that if he
14:35 does have protection where we're able to throw.
14:39 And catch.
14:41 Well, and when he doesn't.
14:45 Not so much, you know,
14:46 and I think that's with everybody,
14:48 but I think he wants to be Superman
14:50 and I think he's probably pressing
14:52 a little bit too much too much
14:54 right now to make a play.
14:56 It's even started Mill Road
14:59 and he did in the game brings him back.
15:02 Is have you seen them adjust their
15:03 offense some to fit Mill Road?
15:05 I mean from the given time they brought in,
15:08 you know the hurt,
15:09 the spread and stuff that you seem
15:10 just our offense on the fit Mill Road.
15:12 Mill Road is great at throwing
15:14 the deep ball many years and.
15:18 Really, if you look a little bit about
15:20 he and KJ from a let's say from a year ago,
15:23 I think the thing with KJ would say he
15:26 can run and he can throw the deep dog.
15:28 You know, and I'm not saying
15:30 they're OK to make everything.
15:31 I'm saying he's fantastic at the deep ball
15:35 and they put some quarterback sweeps in.
15:38 Yeah, there was quite a bit.
15:39 You know when you go back and
15:40 look at South Florida game,
15:42 you know when Mill Road didn't start versus now.
15:47 Yes, they're run first team,
15:50 including using him and.
15:54 And they're they're throwing the
15:56 loan ball and and connected burdens.
15:58 Burton's a great one on one guy to throw it to.
16:01 We try to have a deal where they would
16:05 give both teams at by the same week.
16:08 If Mississippi State can buy this week,
16:10 you're gonna play them playing
16:11 the same week straight week.
16:12 I mean, was there ever?
16:14 What is there an effort at one point
16:15 to get both teams at by so well?
16:17 I think I think there is on like those.
16:22 Rivalry game.
16:22 In other words, I think Georgia and Florida.
16:25 If I'm correct when I was at Georgia,
16:27 I think both of us had about,
16:29 you know, getting ready for that,
16:31 but I I don't.
16:33 I think there are games like that
16:35 where they're trying to, you know.
16:37 Give both teams.
16:38 I don't know if scheduling has
16:40 changed that or what I don't know.
16:42 I know that my first year here, I believe.
16:46 We had a. We did not have about
16:52 and we were playing Tennessee.
16:54 It may have coming off the by
16:57 and then we had the. Voter.
16:59 The vote, you remember that guy
17:01 where we couldn't practice on Monday,
17:04 so we we didn't have a buy.
17:06 They did and we couldn't practice.
17:08 I think we went to Sunday that week.
17:11 I know we did.
17:12 But yeah, I think used to and I don't
17:15 know if OU Texas does that now or apply,
17:18 but I think those big longstanding
17:20 rivalry games I think they do try to do that.
17:23 But it's just kind of feedback
17:27 output trash cage and rocket.
17:29 You know, not really lived up to the
17:31 expectations they've set for themselves.
17:33 This season is how difficult is that for
17:35 you for the coaching staff watching them?
17:37 Do you think it's having maybe any
17:39 mental impact on the team watching
17:41 their two leaders not have?
17:42 I don't. I don't know that
17:44 it has anything on the team.
17:45 I know it does on there.
17:47 As to you know when you're when
17:49 you're not having success and they
17:51 asked you I think it goes back to.
17:55 You just won't get through it
17:56 or you don't fight for it.
17:58 You know you're going to survive and you know.
18:01 Trying to survive a lot of times
18:02 you don't make it.
18:03 You know what I mean?
18:05 But you keep fighting and things
18:06 which which I think our teams don't.
18:08 I'm not. Well, I know that I don't
18:10 have any questions about that, but.
18:13 Those two guys with high expectations
18:15 coming into the year and all that stuff.
18:17 The thing they just gotta keep
18:19 remembering is you got six,
18:21 hopefully seven games left and and.
18:25 A lot of work to be done.
18:28 I know each and every week though
18:30 there you know we're trying to get
18:32 rock is different because you know
18:34 he's had some injury and that kind of stuff.
18:37 KJ I could see that where him a little
18:39 bit more even though he's had some success.
18:43 Rocket would be different to me because
18:45 he's probably not fully healthy quite yet,
18:47 but he's close and.
18:48 But both of them will have their
18:51 their mature guys are both right
18:52 through it and will help him.
18:54 Yes, I'm a practice yet,
18:57 but I was wondering if you had any
18:59 updates on the injuries that you
19:00 mentioned and then duty to have
19:02 been playing. Yeah, I mean,
19:03 you know I think. Um?
19:05 Well, we had three guys.
19:10 We had lunch, but.
19:13 There's there's there's a possibility
19:15 about five not being able to play,
19:18 and then a possibility of maybe two of
19:21 those five being able to play, you know,
19:24 but. We gotta see through practice.
19:26 You know if they can get through,
19:29 you know, get through workout or
19:32 you know the non contact practice,
19:34 things that nature and those type
19:36 injuries are daily evals to see
19:38 whether they're able to play or not.
19:40 Makes it hard too because you know
19:43 you're on one one side you're you're
19:45 trying to prepare without them and
19:48 then the other one you're trying
19:50 to prepare with them and.
19:51 So the sooner we can find that out,
19:53 the better off it would be.
19:54 But we've got a plan, but.
19:58 We've got about five that are question
20:00 marks big big question marks.
20:02 Her path long and started
20:05 this season so well.
20:07 Two catches in the last two weeks.
20:09 They're kind of a similar situation
20:11 with him. There's the KJ and rocket
20:13 where he's got a lot going on and
20:15 he's coming in even though he's older.
20:18 A new guy on the team.
20:19 I could say probably.
20:24 He's getting targets.
20:28 You know he's getting some targets.
20:30 But.
20:34 It could it could certainly
20:35 be the same way we we've.
20:37 We've sat down and visit with
20:38 him and things of that nature.
20:41 But.
20:43 We've got it.
20:43 We gotta try to get the ball to him more.
20:46 You know a lot of things go into that.
20:48 You know we have to protect the guy.
20:50 You have to get open.
20:51 Yeah.
20:52 Yeah.
20:54 Win some one on one catches
20:55 and all those things,
20:56 which I think he's as good as
20:58 anybody we have doing that,
20:59 but we would like to get him
21:02 involved in the offense more certainly.
21:06 Specifically on Kudo taking over
21:08 at center Kudo taking over at center.
21:10 Just what do you think overall?
21:11 Oh. I think I think.
21:17 He tried his everloving heart out.
21:19 He played the best he could.
21:22 But. We probably need to move
21:25 him moving back out to tackle.
21:28 No. He's young.
21:32 Probably there's a lot of
21:33 things going on in there.
21:35 We felt like that was the way to go and.
21:39 Probably not the way to go.
21:43 You got a great field goal kicker
21:45 and obviously made the 56 yarder.
21:46 I think there was a time in the first half.
21:49 Maybe when it could have got a similar
21:51 kick with that against the land.
21:53 There was other direction when we had.
21:55 We had specific marks going in.
21:59 To our pregame talk about where
22:01 they could make it and it was just
22:03 slightly outside of his business.
22:05 Architect Kindle trainer that
22:08 we were talking about.
22:10 Thinking about playing to a field
22:12 well that going to your thinking
22:14 now and it's a certain part of the
22:16 well you know separate because
22:18 we're having so many.
22:20 Negative plays, you know,
22:22 I've always on the phones.
22:23 I always say we're we're in field
22:26 goal range or even you know a
22:29 Dan you've got two plays here.
22:31 In case we get in field goal range,
22:36 you know, depends on what the down
22:38 and distance would be on 4th down.
22:40 But we certainly have a good one and.
22:45 Now we were going for it on the 4th down
22:48 and didn't get the playoff in time and then.
22:51 I had to call it or weren't going to.
22:53 I had to call timeout when Cam.
22:55 He basically jogged out there and
22:57 came back and said coach if you
22:59 want to kick it, I can make it.
23:00 We were down 10.
23:01 It's OK.
23:02 Yeah, one that something I you know
23:10 you look at and I'll get back to it.
23:13 But you look at Tyrus Washington.
23:14 You know some of the things he did
23:17 was really incredible for his first
23:19 really real real game time and our
23:21 secondary was played as good as they possibly.
23:24 I mean, I'm not as good as they possibly can,
23:27 but they played their best ball.
23:30 Work to get that stop down there
23:32 and give us an opportunity was huge.
23:37 You know those guys are flying around.
23:40 You know, obviously every time you come in,
23:41 you say, well,
23:42 we gotta get better at tackling 'cause
23:44 you're going to miss a tackle in the game.
23:46 That you are.
23:48 But I thought that was big.
23:50 They've done that several times now this year
23:52 and and the future I think on our
23:55 defensive side over there the way that
23:57 they're flying around doing some things.
23:59 I think it's bright.
24:00 I think we've come a long way.
24:03 But you mentioned manuals been
24:04 banged up most of the season.
24:05 Is he still dealing with that stinger?
24:07 And do you think you'll maybe be ready
24:09 for this week or still kind of day to day man?
24:14 I don't know.
24:15 But I know this that he's gotta practice.
24:19 He gotta practice full speed.
24:21 You know he has to or he's.
24:24 You know.
24:25 And and listen,
24:26 I don't have a problem with how
24:29 Chambers play any of these freshman.
24:31 He's he I don't.
24:34 He's doing a really nice job.
24:37 But there that he doesn't practice full speed.
24:40 I mean he hadn't played in ball,
24:41 you know, so it's not like.
24:44 Brady Latham hadn't been out,
24:45 you know, for awhile and you get
24:47 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
24:49 Practice and he can go out there and play.
24:51 You know he has never done it so.
24:55 Man, I hope so.
24:57 We need him to and again,
24:58 that's not the bench.
24:59 Chambly that we just we need
25:00 another offensive line.
25:02 We need tactics Crawford who didn't.
25:04 Didn't travel, I mean.
25:06 We need some extra bodies in there
25:08 so we can maybe look at some
25:10 different situations in their position,
25:12 but keep guys fresh and things of that nature.
25:15 And we just haven't been able to do that.
25:18 About the secondary and how well they played.
25:21 Last week you were asked about limiting
25:23 explosive plays for Ole Miss.
25:24 I think the judge was at 120 plus run.
25:27 The no passes over 20 plus yards.
25:29 Now with Melrose ability to stretch the field,
25:32 what type of confidence you have
25:33 in your secondary again?
25:35 Thanks for the really well I do.
25:37 You know now two of them.
25:39 We don't know if we'll be able to play or not.
25:41 You know, but I do.
25:43 I think they're really communicating well.
25:46 Well, you're not seeing a wide open.
25:49 You know what happened here?
25:52 Getting behind us.
25:55 I think they really like each other.
25:56 I think they they're close knit group back there.
26:01 But yeah, Melrose.
26:02 I mean he's gonna throw it now.
26:04 I mean he's gonna throw it up and he can
26:06 throw it a country mile you know and.
26:08 And so you're gonna have to.
26:10 You have to stay with the guy for long time.
26:13 You know we need to get pressure on it.
26:14 That's what we need to do.
26:16 Or says a slippery slope too.
26:18 'cause if he gets out of the pocket,
26:20 you know he can fly,
26:21 but.
26:22 You gotta pick your poison at some point and.
26:27 So yeah, I think you're exactly
26:30 you're 100% correct that they got
26:32 speed on the outside and they're
26:33 gonna throw it up and we just have
26:35 to win that one on one match every.
26:38 Next question, but it's rare to see
26:40 Alabama so low in the SEC in terms
26:42 of how much sacks allowed.
26:44 Obviously you know you like the idea.
26:46 Maybe you can get pressure on Mill Road,
26:48 but how important is it on the edge
26:50 to keep contained on a guy like that?
26:52 Yeah, big time.
26:53 You know as we found out out
26:55 out here last year, you know,
26:56 I think it's 2823.
26:58 We got third and 13 got the crowd behind us.
27:03 And he takes off for 80 on it,
27:05 you know, and we didn't have
27:06 anybody to catch it.
27:08 Really, wasn't anybody real close to him and.
27:12 So that's gonna be a big deal,
27:14 you know, and he's he's.
27:16 He's the guy who makes him go,
27:18 you know, so.
27:20 Obviously that be our number one concern.
27:22 We're gonna try to do everything we can to,
27:25 you know, you know,
27:26 make him uncomfortable.
27:29 Usually when Arkansas plays
27:30 Alabama number one or two,
27:32 they're a little lower in the rank.
27:33 All the way down to 10 or 11.
27:35 Yeah, I know.
27:36 But seriously,
27:38 what you know that they have
27:39 non characteristic home loss.
27:40 I know it's the cactus and
27:41 they're playing real well.
27:42 It's Texas.
27:42 Yeah, what I guess is what?
27:44 What's your take on Alabama?
27:45 Maybe people thinking,
27:47 well, they're still good.
27:48 Obviously they're not the usual Alabama.
27:50 They can go up there,
27:51 line up and play anybody.
27:53 I mean, they can.
27:55 They've got the talent.
27:56 They.
27:57 You know.
27:58 We're catching them now where they're.
28:02 I think they're really.
28:03 Getting into a groove,
28:05 their defense is fantastic.
28:08 And offensively now they.
28:11 They're doing what they can do
28:12 to score points and have success and.
28:15 And.
28:16 You know, we had Bryce Young forever.
28:20 You know what I mean?
28:23 All the quarterbacks they've had
28:24 and now I think Miro's
28:25 going to get known for.
28:29 Having great success for Alabama
28:31 just might be a little bit different
28:32 than what the past quarterbacks
28:34 have been, but they're really good.
28:37 They're leading the SEC West and and.
28:41 So that hadn't changed, you know, so.
28:44 He's in a 70 now,
28:46 but me breaking a new coordinator
28:47 that he does a lot.
28:48 He's actually getting other guys.
28:50 But what do you think about him
28:51 doing what he's doing at his age?
28:53 And I don't know.
28:53 Lane, Kevin kind of needled
28:54 him apparently saying,
28:55 well, it's not the last time we play him,
28:57 but he didn't indicate
28:59 retirement plans.
29:00 What do you think about a guy
29:01 at his age doing what he's doing
29:03 for as long as he's been unbelievable?
29:06 And then it is.
29:07 I mean to go through all the all
29:08 all the years that he's done,
29:10 he's had great success,
29:11 but you can't say that
29:13 he hadn't been stressed, you know?
29:15 I mean.
29:16 For him to do that and so successful
29:21 means the best best coach ever been,
29:23 you know, and.
29:26 Well here, but.
29:29 I imagine he'll he'll quit
29:31 when he's not having fun anymore,
29:33 not not changing lives and needs kids.
29:37 When until that time,
29:39 you know you're going to get
29:40 one hell of a football team.
29:42 Well coached and talented
29:44 and plays physically.
29:45 Touched on this a little bit
29:48 after the game, but without one.
29:50 I'm just curious, like what?
29:53 What did he?
29:54 'cause it looked like he's probably
29:55 got fourth on depth chart
29:56 before last game.
29:57 What did he do?
29:58 To emerge at the front of the depth chart
30:00 and then having so much
30:01 success in the game?
30:02 Well.
30:03 He he.
30:06 I think it took him a little bit
30:08 time to learn the offense,
30:10 learn, learn what to do.
30:13 Which obviously again makes
30:14 playloads slower and that nature.
30:17 I just thought he came out when we said,
30:19 hey, this is what it is.
30:21 I think he saw opportunity.
30:22 I think he believed this
30:23 and we said hey, whoever has the best week.
30:26 That's what we're going to do.
30:28 And he just had a great week of practice.
30:31 He just did and and.
30:34 Like say, I think it was
30:35 after Tuesday practice.
30:36 I told Morgan said OK.
30:38 You know, do what we say we're gonna do.
30:42 That's the guy and no matter where
30:45 he was on the depth chart and.
30:49 And then to see him have had that success
30:53 or just really, really happy for him.
30:55 I had to be a great feeling for him and.
30:58 But that's what happened.
31:00 And I think he think he just got comfortable
31:02 more comfortably learning
31:03 that we're learning the offense.
31:06 Plan to target him five times on
31:08 opening down these workouts.
31:09 And now it was not.
31:12 It just worked out that way.
31:15 Man, he made some nice plays.
31:16 I mean, obviously the touchdown was planned,
31:19 you know, but we're hoping
31:20 that it went that way.
31:22 But the rest of them.
31:25 You know, this kind of happened.
31:28 While we slowly Alabama
31:29 have lost their thing,
31:30 the leading record.
31:31 O7.
31:32 Nobody can give me opportunities,
31:36 right game.
31:37 I think that's the way you go.
31:39 Yeah, what do you say?
31:39 What's the message to the team?
31:41 That's going on?
31:41 I think that's a bad bad way to go in
31:44 and it will basically be a
31:46 shocking world.
31:47 Well, I think it's just no different
31:49 than a little bit.
31:51 We've got to get better,
31:56 we you know, we we have
31:59 six games left played half our season
32:01 and we can't win two games
32:03 and go to a ballgame, you know.
32:05 So we've got to continue to get better.
32:09 I think it will be the first one.
32:11 Let it all hang out.
32:13 I mean.
32:15 You can't beat him if you don't and.
32:19 So let's go over there
32:20 and let's have some fun.
32:21 Let's put a great game plan together
32:23 and keep fighting and.
32:26 And we've got it.
32:28 We've got in order for us to win,
32:30 whether it be Saturday or forward,
32:33 we gotta we gotta concentrate
32:35 on what we can do better.
32:36 We've got to run the ball better.
32:37 We've got to cut down on
32:39 the pre snap penalty.
32:41 It's not post snap.
32:42 It's pre snap penalties.
32:43 You know you're going to get three or four.
32:45 Ole Miss had five, you know,
32:47 but that was.
32:48 Real penalties, you know.
32:51 The ones that were up
32:54 up to the officials.
32:57 But.
32:58 If we do that,
33:00 I think we can play with anybody.
33:03 But we haven't done it consistently yet,
33:06 but our message be.
33:08 You know, let's go out there and.
33:10 Let it fly, you know,
33:11 last time I went down there
33:12 7 point game, you know,
33:14 and I don't know if you'd ask me
33:16 before I game where we score.
33:18 I don't know what was for 34
33:19 or something like that.
33:20 What do we score 34 points?
33:22 Probably.
33:24 Say probably not.
33:26 You know, so 11 o'clock game.
33:29 Hopefully we'll get out ready to roll and.
33:32 Gotta take the logo off their helmet
33:34 at some point.
33:35 Just know there.
33:37 They put their pants on just like we do.
33:38 Let's go try to play a physical
33:41 smart game, see what happens.
33:43 I love him.
33:45 4235.
33:48 Nico Nico had explosive PFL
33:50 and he he blew Bentley up on another play.
33:52 I'm wondering is he
33:54 earning more playing time
33:55 and are there young guys like him
33:57 and Ty that are giving you hope
33:58 that we got a young crew coming?
33:59 Yes, yeah, I mean,
34:01 Nico had his best game
34:03 and had his most production
34:05 when was flying all over the field.
34:09 Yes, he played more Saturday
34:12 than what he had and certainly
34:14 has earned that right
34:15 to continue doing that.
34:18 And then are there other younger guys
34:20 like him or Ty that?
34:23 You know, Ian Graffard
34:24 hasn't played a whole lot.
34:25 He plays a little bit each game,
34:27 but he's a guy that I think
34:30 there's no there's something special.
34:32 Obviously Spencer's playing some.
34:34 Matt Kaplan's playing some.
34:36 Obviously Braxton starting floors.
34:39 Those guys off the top of my head
34:42 that I think.
34:45 Whiteouts really not right now.
34:47 Yeah, those would be the guys right now
34:49 and.
34:51 And to be honest with you,
34:53 I think Alex Sanford's going to be
34:55 a really good player for us.
34:56 I know he's playing special teams.
34:57 I think she's going to be
34:58 a really good player for us.
35:00 Tuscaloosa and one with Northern Illinois
35:02 is the last year Arkansas
35:04 went to Tuscaloosa and won.
35:06 One of the kind of things
35:07 that has to happen
35:08 to go into that kind of venue
35:10 and win what you have to do.
35:13 Yeah, you don't have to play perfect,
35:15 but you have to play really good
35:17 and you have to get off
35:19 off the bus believing you're going to win.
35:21 Like those are.
35:23 I've said it for years
35:25 and now it's Georgia,
35:26 but you've got Georgia Alabama
35:29 both of it.
35:30 There's some teams you walk out with us
35:32 and have to have your team going.
35:34 So we'll play next week, you know.
35:40 I don't think we have that team.
35:42 I think our team believes
35:43 we can go and win.
35:44 But I think that's the biggest battle
35:49 is the. Hang on the helmet and.
35:54 So you have to do that.
35:55 You have to play.
35:56 You can't.
36:00 You gotta keep over the bar
36:01 and can't go pigs
36:02 and lay it on the ground
36:04 and you've got it.
36:05 You gotta have some help.
36:06 They got they have to help you.
36:07 You gotta get turned over
36:09 some things of that nature.
36:10 To beat on that home like that,
36:15 we'd have to play a truly.
36:17 Big time game for us,
36:19 but we're capable of it.
36:20 It's about time we do.
