00:00 Hello there, Lee Sobot at the Yorkshire Evening Post here from Ellen Road where Leeds United
00:06 have recorded another victory through a 2-1 success against Bristol City. And you've got
00:11 to say another pretty impressive display from Leeds United who, yet again, a bit of a theme
00:14 continued in terms of not taking all of their chances but in the end two was enough and
00:19 I've got to say a fantastic performance from Giorgino Ruta which is odd because he managed
00:23 to miss a sitter from about three yards out in the early stages and despite that I think
00:27 it would be most people's idea of man of the match. Although I should also say that Archie
00:31 Gray today lined up as right back and you've got to say he had a fantastic game in that
00:36 position as well, almost as if there was anything this 17-year-old can't do. He played in that
00:39 position as Luke Ayling went to the bench. But yeah, another win for Leeds. They've moved
00:45 fifth through this victory. The obvious reaction to this is to look at it and to think 'Well,
00:49 Leicester City and Ipswich Town won again' which is true. So it's as you were in terms
00:53 of the chase for the top two. But nevertheless, it's another place at the table to fifth.
00:57 It's momentum built and they are looking in pretty good shape. In the end it was Dan
01:01 James who put Leeds in front. That's now one goal and I think it's four assists this season
01:05 so he's always been questioned about end product but he's starting to get there now at this
01:08 level. That came from a decent attack down the right-hand side, cross played through
01:14 by Routier and James was there at the far post to make it 1-0. There were other chances
01:18 to add to the lead. Obviously, the Routier missed very, very early on and was an absolute
01:22 sitter and he held his head in his hands after that. But these things happen and he carried
01:26 on and had a fantastic game. That said, right on the stroke of half-time, four minutes into
01:31 the first half stoppage time, Bristol City equalised through a header from a corner.
01:36 Kel Nysmith arrived in a crowded box to make it 1-1. He escaped Glenn Kamara. Kamara had
01:41 a pretty good game as well though. The second half was a bit of a slowish start but in the
01:45 end Leeds went 2-1 in front and a fantastic finish from Joel Pirou to put Leeds back in
01:50 front. He picked up the ball on the edge of the box, shifted a little bit, worked some
01:54 space and a brilliant finish through the legs of Naysmith into the far corner to make it
01:58 2-1. That was the foundation for victory. There were other chances to add to the lead.
02:04 Somerville was denied by Save which went on to the post. We have to say right at the end,
02:08 or not quite at the end, in the 70-something minute, Sam Byron with a brilliant headed
02:11 clearance off the line to stop what would have been 2-2. It was a bit like the other
02:15 night in the sense that in the end Leeds are only one goal in front and one of these days
02:20 if they're only one goal in front they're going to get pegged back. So that's got to
02:22 be the lesson in the tale really here. But a decent performance all in all. As I say,
02:26 Rutu was fantastic, lots of good performances. It's another win for Leeds, they've gone
02:30 fifth. That's it now until the international break. Daniel Farker said before the game
02:33 how important it was to sign off in style with a good win to build momentum so they
02:36 can come back to this after the break. Two big away games coming up in Norwich and Stoke
02:41 to start off with after the break. Obviously they will be big tests but it's looking good
02:45 for Leeds. They've just got to keep going now and ultimately try and hunt down those
02:49 top two and surely eventually one of them will fold so you would hope fingers crossed.
02:52 Leeds can only look after their own business though and they've done that today. Leeds
02:55 United 2, Bristol City 1.
