01:50 On April 1, Wilder attended a fashion show in Las Vegas hosted by Seventeen magazine.
01:56 In one picture taken on that fateful day, Wilder can be seen sitting in the background,

02:17 An aspiring model named Michelle Korfman would disappear from this event, and her body was

02:25 Her death was later linked to Christopher Wilder, who had abducted her from the fashion

02:44 Not only is the concept of human heads hanging on a wall disturbing, but the death masks

02:51 These grotesque decorations date back to the 1930s, when they were made in the midst of
02:55 the city's most infamous killing spree.
03:04 The still-unidentified Cleveland Torso Murderer killed at least 13 people between 1934 and
03:11 1938.
03:12 Because most of the victims were transients, it was very difficult to identify them, especially
03:16 considering what happened to their bodies.
03:26 Enter these plaster death masks of the victims, which were displayed to the public in the
03:31 hopes of someone recognizing their faces.
03:34 Tyler Hadley's Party Two young men pose for the camera, one of
03:38 whom is holding a drink.
03:40 That man is Tyler Hadley, and he had just killed his parents.
03:44 In fact, their bodies were still upstairs.
03:55 Hadley killed his mother and father earlier in the day, hid their bodies in the master
03:59 bedroom, then used their credit cards to fund a party that dozens of people attended.
04:04 The other man in the photo is Michael Mandel.
04:07 Hadley told Mandel of the crime, and Mandel even found the bodies in the bedroom.
04:11 Regardless, he stayed at the party and even took this selfie with Hadley.
04:15 It wasn't until Mandel had left the party hours later that he reported the crime to
04:19 the authorities.

04:32 The photo is of poor quality, but the content is clear.
04:35 A happy group of people are centered around a man wearing a yellow sweater.
04:39 This man is holding a very young baby, who is adorably dressed in white.
04:43 But that baby is not his own.
04:45 In fact, he killed the baby's mother and stole her.
04:49 The man is serial killer John Edward Robinson, who took the lives of at least eight people.
04:54 He befriended a young mother named Lisa Stacy, killed her, and took her young daughter Tiffany,
05:00 later posing for this photo.
05:04 He then sold Tiffany to his brother and sister-in-law, who "adopted" her for $5,500 in "legal fees."
05:13 It would be 15 years before Tiffany Stacy learned of her true identity.
05:23 The Sean Moore crime scene A child's bicycle lies abandoned on the roadside,

05:31 This is a startlingly great picture, conveying a primal sense of fear and danger, and letting

05:39 This bike belongs to Sean Moore, who was riding home from a convenience store when he was
05:43 forcibly abducted by Ronald Bailey.
05:46 The bike was left behind, a painful reminder of Moore's interrupted life.
05:51 Bailey took Moore to a secluded cabin, where he proceeded to drug, assault, and eventually
05:56 kill him.
05:57 Bailey was later found guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping, and sentenced to life
06:01 in prison.
06:02 The Mad Bomber of New York Everything about George Metesky is terrifying.
06:08 Throughout the 1940s and 50s, Metesky earned the moniker "The Mad Bomber" as he planted
06:13 explosives in many public areas around New York.
06:17 While these bombings never killed anyone, they left 15 people injured.
06:21 Metesky was finally identified and caught in 1957, and taken to the Waterbury Police
06:26 Headquarters.
06:27 A photographer took a picture of Metesky inside his jail cell, and the result is absolutely
06:32 blood chilling.
06:34 Metesky glances out of his cell, a gleeful smile plastered on his face, and his eyes
06:39 depicting a complete loss of reality.
06:42 Metesky was found legally insane, with the judge calling him "hopeless and incurable
06:48 both mentally and physically".
06:51 James Bulger This famous photograph depicts James Bulger,
06:55 who is walking through a mall and holding the hand of an older boy.
06:59 Another boy wearing a darker jacket walks in front.
07:02 These two are Robert Thompson and John Venables, and they are in the process of discreetly
07:07 kidnapping Bulger.
07:09 The young boy was shopping with his mother at the New Strand shopping centre when she
07:13 briefly took her eyes off him to pay for some groceries.
07:21 It was then that Thompson and Venables swooped in and guided Bulger away by hand.
07:25 His body was found two days later near some railway tracks.
07:29 A Man, His Daughter, and a Car Bomb
07:32 For a period of about thirty years, Northern Ireland was embroiled in a political conflict
07:37 known as "The Troubles".
07:39 This ended with the Good Friday Agreement in 1998.
07:42 But this ceasefire was not honoured by a splinter group of the Irish Republican Army called
07:47 the Real IRA.
07:49 As a form of protest, they planted a car bomb in the town of Oma.
07:58 It went off on August 15, 1998, killing 29 and injuring hundreds.
08:04 In this photograph, taken shortly before the bombing, a man in a yellow sweater holds a
08:09 child on his shoulders.
08:11 Right beside them is the red car in which the bomb was planted.
08:15 Both the man and the child survived, but the photographer was one of the 29 fatalities.

08:28 It's one of the most visceral photos in true crime.
08:32 A girl wearing a black dress holds her hands towards the camera, an obvious defensive gesture
08:38 that elicits great fear of whoever is behind the camera.
08:41 But whoever was a man named Robert Ben Rhodes, who may have killed more than 50 women while
08:47 working as a truck driver.
08:48 He took this haunting snapshot of Walters shortly before strangling her to death, and
08:53 Walters' decomposing body was later found on the same farm depicted in the image.
09:03 The photo was later found by investigators in Rhodes' house.
09:06 If it's any consolation, it was Walters' death for which Rhodes was convicted and finally
09:11 put away.
09:12 Rhodes was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
09:17 Leonard Lake's Cabin
09:18 This photo is quite unassuming at first.
09:21 It's an aerial shot of a rubble-strewn building with various crew members working amongst
09:25 the debris.
09:26 It's a sight that millions of people see every day on their way to and from work.
09:30 But this is actually the compound of Leonard Lake, and it hosted some nightmarish atrocities.
09:36 Lake and his accomplice, Charles Ng, took their victims to this cabin in the Sierra
09:40 Nevada foothills and committed horrible acts against them before ending their lives.
09:45 It's believed that the duo killed up to 25 people inside the cabin, and authorities later
09:50 found the likes of videotapes and human remains at the site.
09:53 Sheree Miller
09:55 In July of 1984, a man named William Bradford met young bartender Sheree Miller at the Meat
10:01 Market in Los Angeles.
10:03 After convincing Miller that he was a professional photographer, he extended a proposition to
10:07 take some photos of her.
10:08 She agreed, and the two drove north into the desert of California.
10:12 Bradford took various photographs of Miller, who can be seen wearing a pair of denim shorts.
10:18 Soon after the photos were taken, Bradford killed Miller and took her body back to Hollywood,
10:22 where he abandoned it in an alley.
10:24 Bradford was a predator who was out on bail at the time of Miller's killing; she was
10:28 just one of a potential 28 victims.
10:31 Dahmer's Drum
10:32 It's amazing how a story can recontextualize a picture.
10:37 This seemingly harmless photo depicts a blue plastic drum in the corner of an old room.
10:42 Nothing too strange or malicious… until you realize what's inside the vat.
10:47 It belonged to Jeffrey Dahmer, who was probably the most notorious serial killer in American
10:51 history.
10:52 One of Dahmer's survivors took note of the drum while inside the house, and noticed a
10:56 very strong and unpleasant smell coming from it.
10:59 When Dahmer was finally caught, investigators uncovered the drum and found it was filled
11:03 with hydrochloric acid and human remains.
11:06 Dahmer was going full Breaking Bad and dissolving his victims inside the drum.
11:25 John Lennon and Mark David Chapman
11:27 A very famous photo taken by Paul Goresh shows John Lennon signing an autograph while a man
11:33 in glasses stands over his left shoulder.
11:36 Signs of photos just like this were taken throughout Lennon's career, but this one
11:39 is steeped in malice.
11:41 This photo was taken around 5 p.m. on the evening of December 8, 1980.
11:46 Nearly six hours later, Lennon returned home and was shot by the man in the photo.
11:56 The very same man he had given an autograph to earlier in the evening.
12:00 This of course is Mark David Chapman, and he had been planning to kill Lennon for months.
12:05 While Chapman watched Lennon sign his album, he knew he would kill him just a few hours
12:10 later.
12:11 Karen Sprinker
12:12 Throughout the late 1960s, a man named Jerry Brudos killed at least four women in Oregon.
12:28 One of them was an 18-year-old named Karen Sprinker.
12:32 On March 27, 1969, Brudos was wearing women's clothing and scoured a department store parking
12:38 lot for victims.
12:39 He found Sprinker and kidnapped her at gunpoint.
12:51 Brudos then took her to his personal garage and made her put on underwear while he took
12:55 photos.
12:56 One of them has been released and shows a calm-looking Sprinker gazing into the lens.
13:01 Shortly after the photo was taken, Brudos killed Sprinker and put her body into the
13:06 Willamette River.
13:07 Ted Bundy
13:08 Ted's tools.
13:09 Few serial killers are as notorious as Ted Bundy.
13:13 His name is synonymous with evil, and he may have killed up to 36 women throughout the
13:17 mid-70s.
13:31 Bundy was arrested in the early morning of August 16, 1975, by patrolman Bob Hayward,
13:37 and when Hayward searched Bundy's vehicle, he discovered a treasure trove of suspicious
13:41 material.
13:42 Inside the Volkswagen Beetle, and later photographed for the world to see, were the likes of garbage
13:47 bags, an ice pick, rope, gloves, a ski mask, and more.
13:51 Unfortunately, there wasn't enough solid evidence to hold Bundy at the time, and he was promptly
13:56 released from custody.
14:08 He went on to kill again before he was finally captured for good in February of 1978.
14:14 The Columbine Class Picture
14:16 It's pictures like this that prove the volatility of life.
14:19 You never know the types of people you're literally sitting beside.
14:37 This photo shows the Columbine High School class of 1999.
14:41 In the top left corner, some boys can be seen making gun gestures with their hands.
14:46 Two of these boys are Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, who, just weeks later, would enact
14:51 the historic Columbine attack.
14:53 On April 20, 1999, Harris and Klebold killed 13 at their high school.
14:59 The perps would also take their own lives, bringing the total body counts to 15.
15:03 Even more were injured, and Columbine became an international talking point.
15:08 Rodney Alcala's Photos
15:10 A vicious man who killed at least eight, Rodney Alcala is famously known as "The Dating Game
15:15 Killer", as he once appeared on the titular game show.
15:26 While searching his home and his personal storage locker, investigators found over 1,000
15:31 photographs, many of which depicted people in sensual poses.
15:34 120 of these photos were eventually released to the public, in the hopes of identifying
15:39 the subjects.
15:40 The released photographs are not explicitly sensual in nature, but merely depicts people
15:45 — mainly young women — posing in artful manners.
15:54 It's unclear how many of these subjects were killed by Alcala, but at least one missing
15:58 person's case — that of 28-year-old Christine Thornton — was solved with the help of the
16:03 photographs.
16:15 A Message from the Lipstick Killer
16:32 While his conviction is controversial, the Lipstick Killer is thought to be Illinois
16:36 criminal William Herons.
16:38 The Lipstick Killer got his name from a particularly creepy crime scene, and this crime scene was
16:43 famously photographed.
16:45 Frances Brown was killed inside her apartment, and the perp left behind a message for whoever
16:49 came across her body.
16:51 Scrawled on the wall in lipstick were the words, "For heaven's sake, catch me before
16:55 I kill more.
16:56 I cannot control myself."
16:58 Unfortunately, the killer did indeed strike again, kidnapping and taking the life of the
17:03 young Suzanne Degnan.
17:05 This occurred just one month after the death of Brown.
17:24 Ed Gein's House
17:25 The inspiration behind numerous fictional killers like Norman Bates and Leatherface,
17:30 Ed Gein is a notorious body-snatcher who fashioned himself one nightmarish house.
17:42 Gein would dig up corpses from graveyards around Plainfield, Wisconsin, and use their
17:46 bones and skin to make household objects.
17:49 When authorities searched Gein's house, they found the likes of garbage bins, upholstery,
17:54 bedposts, bowls, and lampshades, all of which were made from human remains.
18:00 Many photos were taken of Gein's house, most of which depict a horribly cluttered space
18:04 filled with trash and furniture.
18:07 It's eerie to think how much of that stuff was made out of the recently exhumed.
18:11 Perhaps the scariest picture is that of a chair upholstered with old and leathery-looking
18:16 skin.
