Transcript
00:00 >> Brandon, how are you feeling?
00:02 How are you feeling today?
00:02 How do you feel about your first NBA training camp?
00:05 >> I'm feeling great.
00:06 Just here having a lot of fun with my teammates, my new teammates.
00:10 I'm here with the best fans that we have around the world.
00:15 Just learning from them every day is just a blessing.
00:18 And just more fun to come this season.
00:20 >> What do you hope to see from you guys?
00:22 You're scrimmaging a lot right now.
00:23 You're getting up and down.
00:25 What do you like so much about that?
00:26 Is it what you expected?
00:28 >> It's definitely what I expected, a lot faster.
00:33 But I think that's just one of the things I love to play, is just a fast-paced game.
00:38 Just get out of transition, get a lot of open threes and layups.
00:41 And now the mid-range, so it's really having fun.
00:45 >> What's it feel to practice?
00:47 Does it feel real to you?
00:48 Does it feel like a dream?
00:49 >> I still think I haven't let the moments hit me.
00:54 I'm just taking it day by day, slow.
00:57 Like I said, my teammates and my family.
01:00 >> What has been your biggest adjustment so far trying to figure out how you fit in
01:03 with these guys from the court out there?
01:05 >> The biggest adjustment, I don't think it's really an adjustment.
01:10 Just talking to everybody, talking to everybody.
01:13 Like outside basketball, just like I said,
01:16 building a bond with the new teammates, trying to make a better bond on the court.
01:21 >> A lot of players have talked about just your demeanor and
01:24 just how you kind of fit in so far, the team aspect of it.
01:27 Just when you do that and get in the players, it's a rift rising that you can feel.
01:31 >> It makes me feel good.
01:32 A lot of veterans have a lot of trust in me, especially this year.
01:37 But also I trust them, just having my back so I'm always in the first.
01:41 >> How much did the Summer League help you- >> How much did it?
01:43 >> How much did the Summer League help you kind of get adjusted quicker to what you
01:47 guys are doing now and how much different?
01:49 >> I think Summer League is just learning a lot of new terms.
01:52 Just kind of fitting in with the style of play.
01:55 It's not as fast as Summer League in here.
01:59 So really just building, like I said, building new bonds with some potential
02:03 teammates on the Summer League team.
02:06 Really just here having fun with it.
02:08 >> Does having some of the veterans' eyes here make it a little bit easier for
02:10 you to not come in with so much pressure?
02:12 Does that make sense?
02:13 >> Definitely, definitely gives me a lot of confidence just to come in here and
02:18 just take an open shot from a pass ball, from a mellow ball,
02:22 one of our events out here.
02:24 It's just a confidence thing.
02:27 >> Has anybody slipped down like amongst these veterans that kind of guided you in
02:31 the right direction to help you out the most out of everybody out here?
02:34 >> I think all of us do a great job on just coaching the younger guys,
02:40 as far as myself.
02:42 I've heard a lot from Gordon Hayward, a lot from Mellow, just really everybody.
02:47 I think it's a team thing, not just one guy.
02:51 >> What about PJ?
02:52 He told me that he's like, you're his rookie.
02:54 So how has that kind of helped you so far, kind of get the community,
02:57 get them out there, get you comfortable?
03:00 >> PJ's a leader on and off the court.
03:02 If he's not in playing, then he's talking on the sideline,
03:05 just helping the younger guys, or just getting everybody in the right place,
03:08 in the right place on the court.
03:11 So really just learning from him is kind of a big thing,
03:13 just through his past years.
03:16 I mean, he's hard, some years have been in the league, so
03:19 he knows a lot about the game.
03:21 Just another guy to be a sponge to and just soak up everything he says.
03:25 >> Would a big brother play you out there a little bit too?
03:27 >> Definitely, I think everybody a big brother out here.
03:29 >> [LAUGH] >> Thank you, man, appreciate it.
