We asked the people of Leeds, are you paying too much tax?
Transcript
00:00 - Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has said
00:01 it's not gonna be any tax cuts this year.
00:03 Do you think we pay too much tax?
00:06 - Generally, yeah, I'd say so, yeah.
00:09 I mean, I'm retired now, so,
00:11 but I do still pay tax,
00:13 but obviously tax on petrol and stuff like that, yeah.
00:17 - Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has said
00:19 there's not gonna be any tax cuts this year.
00:21 Do you think we pay too much tax?
00:23 - Yeah, definitely, yeah.
00:27 I mean, every person probably would say yes.
00:31 I do not think I'm qualified to say anything about this
00:36 because I do not know how big the road maintenance costs,
00:39 electricity, the power grid,
00:41 stuff like that are hard to maintain,
00:44 but I would usually say
00:45 that it's not necessarily having too much taxes.
00:47 It's more like, in my opinion,
00:49 not using that money correctly,
00:51 like having the lowest bidders usually win,
00:54 like let's say highway constructions,
00:56 not because they are doing it good,
00:57 but because it may be your friend,
01:00 it may be somebody you know,
01:01 you are undervaluing it,
01:02 which means that you always have to extend the construction
01:06 for a higher cost later on,
01:08 which is not in the bid, so,
01:09 yes, in a very convoluted way.
