00:10 Well, over here to my right we have a Volkswagen Atlas, and over here to my left we also have
00:14 a Volkswagen Atlas, albeit the Cross Sport edition.
00:18 Let's dig into a few of the big differences and see what makes these vehicles so interesting.
00:24 Let's begin over here with the Cross Sport.
00:26 Now this is a jumbo-sized two-row, full-size SUV with room for five and a whole heap of
00:34 luggage in the gargantuan trunk out back.
00:37 Now in terms of dimensions, this Cross Sport is just a couple of inches shorter than the
00:42 regular Atlas.
00:43 It's also received a nice little roofline taper at the back end, which to me gives it
00:48 Audi Q8 proportions.
00:50 I really like the way that this car looks.
00:54 Moving over to the full-size Atlas, well, as we've just said with the Cross Sport, there's
00:58 not an awful lot to separate the two.
00:59 This one's a little bit longer and a little bit taller.
01:02 The real changes come on the inside.
01:04 The second row seating, which is bench seating in the Cross Sport, has been replaced with
01:08 two captain's chairs, and then there's a third row with two additional seats.
01:12 Legroom and headroom is pretty good, however, luggage space suffers dramatically in the
01:17 Atlas over the very roomy Cross Sport.
01:21 The interior of the regular Atlas is played slightly more safe in terms of the textures,
01:25 the textiles, the colors, and the trim levels that are included in it, whereas the Cross
01:29 Sport takes some more liberties, given that it's being marketed to a younger audience.
01:34 Ultimately, both of these vehicles are exactly the same in terms of all of the options you
01:39 can choose.
01:40 The difference then comes down to your application.
01:43 Do you need six seats or do you need five?
01:45 Do you need a safe interior or do you need a stylish interior?
01:48 All I can say is that both of these vehicles, as identical as they are, represent fantastic
01:53 value for money, and both made it through to our SUV of the Year.
