Transcript
00:00 We find our friend Tony Law back and look at the big puddles behind him there.
00:03 Yeah, plenty going on this weekend, but let's talk about that right now.
00:06 Hey Tony, what's going on where you are?
00:08 Hey Michelle McLeod, everything's going pretty well here.
00:15 We're in Paducah, Texas.
00:16 You see some of the cars driving through what remains of some of the street flooding in
00:20 there.
00:20 You see a little bit of splashing the blue pickup truck that just rolled through.
00:24 This is here at the junction of US-70, US-83 and US-62.
00:28 We're south of Childress by about 30 so miles.
00:31 Just got out of round two of the severe storms that have rolled through here, bringing mostly
00:36 torrential downpours, but we did see some one-inch hail and some pretty cool clouds.
00:40 Check this one out here.
00:41 This is just down the street near the Paducah school.
00:44 You see these ominous looking clouds over the sky here.
00:47 In fact, you're going to get an interesting little formation here after we get past the
00:51 shot with the sign here.
00:52 You see kind of like the cloud pushing up into the cloud, all the blues, really, really
00:57 ominous looking skies as this storm was rolling into the city.
01:01 One it did bring in here, we had wind gusts estimated just north of town at about 60 miles
01:06 per hour.
01:07 We had a little bit of hail mixed in here.
01:09 There was some threat.
01:10 We could see hail up to golf ball size.
01:12 Didn't see anything more than about a one inch in diameter here in town.
01:14 Good God, there's a dog that just scared the Jesus out of me.
01:18 Hi, where'd you come from?
01:20 Sorry, my live shot just got hijacked here by a husky.
01:26 That scared the...oh man.
01:27 Sorry, live TV folks.
01:30 But yeah, there's a dog over here.
01:32 See if I can get him to come over here because he's ruined my live shot now.
01:34 Now he's sniffing the weeds, but whatever.
01:35 Now he's doing his business.
01:37 Yeah, but anyway, here in Paducah, obviously we've got the dogs coming out here.
01:40 We'll see.
01:41 Here he comes.
01:42 There he comes.
01:42 See, I'm not lying.
01:44 Not lying at all.
01:45 He hijacked me.
01:46 You ruined my shot, boy.
01:48 Fortunately, though, we're in a wall.
01:49 We've got another round of storms coming in.
01:51 So me and the dog probably going to try to find some shelter here before too long.
01:54 But again, we're going to be dealing with that severe weather threat here.
01:57 Severe thunderstorm watch goes into effect.
01:59 That till nine o'clock tonight for areas Lubbock, Childress, get up into Oklahoma.
02:03 Then there's another watch on top of that further to the east, just south of Oklahoma City.
02:07 Really between Oklahoma City and Dallas.
02:09 That one going till ten.
02:10 That severe weather threat still going to be a concern for us.
02:13 But it's the flash flooding that we are concerned about.
02:16 Here in Paducah, we again expecting another round.
02:18 Those are training storms.
02:20 We're going to see one round after another.
02:21 The good news is you can see kind of behind me here is the water levels have come down
02:24 since that storm rolled through.
02:26 We're going to be seeing some breaks in the storms early on, but we're expecting these
02:30 to congeal and start working their way to the east, southeast folks in Oklahoma City,
02:34 especially Dallas.
02:35 Certainly be aware later tonight.
02:36 Tony, oh, you know, we love a dog shot.
02:40 That was good, Tony.
02:41 Well, you and that dog stay dry and stay safe, folks.
02:45 We got a cold front.
02:46 It's making its way through and you can you can actually see that line of demarcation.
02:50 In front of that, you're going to see those showers and storms pop up.
02:54 And that's why we are getting in on that flash flooding.
