Esteemed eveningwear designer Pamella Roland is often inspired by her exotic travels. And it was no different for her latest collection, which drew influence from a trip to Morocco in January. “I just couldn’t leave there without saying, ‘this is such an inspiration,’” Roland told us backstage. “Every city we went to was different…the colors, the architecture, the different tiles of the different cities. It was absolutely beautiful.”
Actress Angela Bassett, who wore Pamella Roland at this year’s BAFTAs and Golden Globes Awards, was anxious to see the season’s latest offerings from the designer. “I’ve had some very beautiful times with Pamella this previous season,” she told us front row. “I’m looking forward to seeing what has been percolating in that creative space of hers.”
Spring brings more gorgeous gowns from Rolland, from full tulle and feathered. Her favorite look? A dazzling plexiglass gown. “It looks like one of the cities, like Casablanca,” she says.

00:00 I'm Stacy Bundette from Alice and Olivia and you're watching Life Minute TV.
00:07 I just am a big fan so I'm excited to be here and see everything for the new season.
00:23 So we're here today at our Black and White Ball. It was an ode to the 1960s, an ode to
00:29 the days of Truman Capote, glamour, swans and the idea that style is who you are, style
00:36 is what you are and that every woman should be their own living work of art and fashion
00:42 allows you to do that. We've got 60s shift dresses, we've got crazy surrealist art flowers,
00:48 we've got pearls and crystals and a lot of black and white glamour. We did a lot of jewelry
00:55 like pearls and headbands and white sparkly swan eyes, long lace gloves, pearl and crystal
01:02 belts so it's really just about ode to 1960s glamour. I love the brand and that's why I'm
01:09 here. Alice and Olivia is always one of my favorite shows of New York Fashion Week. She
01:17 has the most beautiful clothes and the most incredible sets and I can't wait to see everything.
01:25 So there's three looks today. One is this face that we're creating now where we're creating
01:31 big drama buns and we're going to tie a ribbon around it and then we've got some chignons
01:37 which are more debutante embellished with pearls, crystals, some with cute little bows
01:41 tucked away underneath and we've also got a ponytail which is always timeless. We gave
01:46 it that nod with the 60s with a little bit of a bouffant around the base of the ponytail
01:50 like scrunchie-esque things.
01:52 This is the revenge lip. This is the lip that you put on when you want to feel powerful.
01:56 You don't care who's looking at it. It's for you and it's dripping in red gloss and we
02:01 did a nude version as well. So you get the look by using Lady Bold lip liner. We have
02:06 a beautiful blue red lip liner. Then it's our Lady Bold lipstick and then on top of
02:10 it is our lip injection lip gloss. You're definitely going to turn heads in this look.
02:15 There's like this amazing black and white gown that has this like crazy long train and
02:20 it's made with like dozens of like ruffled godets but I also like some of the like new
02:26 kind of like 60s crop flare, kick flare pants and little peplum tops as easier items.
