Taking inspiration from Sicilian Baroque architecture in Noto to the serene coastlines of Puglia and the vineyards of Mount Etna, Naeem Khan delivered his Spring/Summer 2025 collection with a runway show at the Angel Orensanz Foundation during New York Fashion Week earlier this month. The show concluded with a special tribute to Universal Pictures' upcoming film, Wicked , showcasing a captivating finale, demonstrating the powerful symphony between fashion and film. The Mumbai-born designer brought the essence of characters Elphaba and Glinda to life with his vivid mix of green, pink, and black designs. Each piece echoed the unique styles and moods of the highly anticipated film, bringing the fantastical world of Oz to life through fashion. 'The Wicked theme was met to perfection,' actress Vivica A. Fox gushed after the show.

00:00Hi, I'm Naeem Khan. You're watching Life Minute TV.
00:07I said out of all the shows, that if I wanted to get some glamour, that this was the show to come to.
00:13And the Wicked theme was met to perfection.
00:17The idea is Baroque elements from Notto, from Sicily, but they're all glamour.
00:23So how do you bring glamour to Baroque?
00:25But the other thing which is important in this collection is my collaboration with Universal Studios
00:30for the movie Wicked, which is launching in November.
00:33The finale is going to be all Wicked.
00:36The Wicked is all about dark green, pink, and black.
00:40It starts with very ethereal, like creams and whites, and then it moves into blacks, blues.
00:46So these are all the colours that inspired me in Italy.
00:49Textures, that is the most important part of my collection, because everything is made by hand.
00:53There's lots of embroideries. I make classic clothes, as I said.
00:56But you make it contemporary. It's for the woman of today. It's classic.
01:00Naeem is always about super glam.
01:03On the shorter-haired girls, we're just sleeking them back, using Ricca haircare products today.
01:07On the longer-haired girls, we're doing a really sleek, clean, very chic bun.
01:11The collection is really, really intricate, inspired by Baroque-era architecture.
01:15We just kept it super simple, very clean, like I said, very chic, to keep it Naeem, so his clothes can pop.
01:22The look is inspired by our duo nature.
01:25Most of the girls are going to be our beautiful, serene, light princesses, I would say.
01:31And we have five girls that are going to be secretly dark side.
01:35In terms of the makeup, for the light look, we are using light eye pencil that goes inside of the lower eyelid.
01:42We are blending a cream colour that has a reflective quality as well.
01:47For the dark look, it's a very similar feeling, but we're flipping everything 360.
01:51We're using gunmetal grey, and it's not just dark, it's intricate.
