01:00 that embraces the run what you brung mentality.
01:03 From super cars to American muscle to exotics,
01:06 it's all about going fast.
01:07 We check in with one of the underdogs of the event, Jeff,
01:10 and his 2013 turbo charged FR-S.
01:13 While his horsepower numbers are in the low 300 range,
01:16 it turned out to be one quick FR-S.
01:19 So we're here with Jeff and his 2013 FR-S.
01:21 It's been surprising a lot of people today.
01:23 It looks pretty unassuming, it's really quiet.
01:25 Nobody quite knows what's under the hood,
01:28 but he's putting up trap times faster
01:31 than a lot of these cars.
01:32 You're in the 140 range?
01:34 - Yeah, just over 140.
01:36 - Wow, an FR-S.
01:37 So can you tell us how you did that?
01:39 Tell us a little bit about your car.
01:40 - You know, it's got a speed by design turbo kit,
01:43 full fuel system, E85 flex fuel, dual catch can.
01:47 So I've just gone through everything as far as externals.
01:50 Made sure it's safe too.
01:51 I don't want to push it more than about 13 and a half pounds
01:53 of boost.
01:54 So, you know, that's the other thing too,
01:56 is I want to push it, but not over its limit.
01:59 - Well, good luck out there today, man.

02:09 - Another one of the cars that we had to check out
02:19 was Ryan Richardson's Nismo 370Z.
02:22 The car looked really clean,
02:25 but we noticed the little intercooler
02:27 hiding behind its front grill.
02:28 We caught up with him to see how his day was going.
02:31 All right guys, we're here with Ryan Richardson
02:33 from Arizona with his twin turbo 370Z.
02:36 Can you tell us how it's going out there today in that?
02:39 - Oh, it's going fantastic.
02:40 So we actually, fastest time so far today was 162.5.
02:44 I'm hoping to get a little higher,
02:45 that's why I'm taking out the spare tire
02:46 and a little less gas in the tank.
02:48 So it'll be good.
02:49 Been hitting about 13.7 pounds,
02:52 which should be right about 650 wheel horsepower.
02:54 It's on a stock block right now.
02:55 We had a dynoed at 13.2 pounds.
02:58 It was 648 wheel, 560 pounds per foot of torque.
03:02 I'm pretty good with that power level.
03:04 Now it's just a matter of suspension and handling,
03:06 all that good stuff.
03:07 That'll go into it next.
03:08 - What kind of gas are you running?
03:10 - E85.
03:11 - Oh, okay.
03:11 - Yeah, it has Ecutec tuning that's on there,
03:13 which is great 'cause it gives you launch control.
03:15 I've got the no lift shift, which is a blast out here.
03:17 You know, you're shifting through gears,
03:18 not losing any boost, which is wonderful.
03:20 It's fantastic.
03:22 So, but just a lot of fun.
03:23 This is the place to be to really test it out
03:25 and see what it can do.

04:17 it's been putting down times in the 180 mile an hour range.
04:21 Can you tell us how you did that
04:22 in this unassuming but really fast little car?
04:25 - Yeah, it was fun.
04:26 We came here yesterday
04:27 and no one really gave much attention
04:28 until we started putting down mid 180s.
04:30 Pulled out a 188 yesterday with it, so.
04:33 - Wow.
04:34 - One of our 850 horsepower kits that we produce
04:37 and we make a lot of fast Audis out of Las Vegas.
04:40 - Wow.
04:41 And what kind of fuel are you running today?
04:43 - So we're running E85.
04:44 We love it.
04:45 It's readily available and can't beat E85.
04:48 - Nice.
04:48 So E85 in this little tiny TT,
04:51 putting near 850 horsepower.
04:54 Yeah, I'd be scared of this thing
04:55 if I saw it on the street.

04:59 If 850 horsepower isn't enough for you,
05:04 the guys from Echelon Motorsport/Scottsdale Vault
05:07 brought out multiple GTRs
05:09 with over 1,000 horsepower each.
05:12 We're in front of the Echelon Autosport/Scottsdale Vault
05:14 stable and there's about 6,000 horsepower worth
05:17 of car behind us.
05:19 And these guys are really impressing us
05:21 with the times they're putting up today.
05:22 So which one of these cars is the fastest?
05:25 - That'd be our red GTR
05:26 that's just making under 1,600 horsepower.
05:28 (upbeat music)
05:31 And second fastest, our second fastest
05:34 is our chrome blue GTR.
05:35 It's about 1,200 horsepower.
05:36 - Oh my goodness.
05:37 That alone is enough to melt my brain.
05:39 Can you guys show us what's under the hood
05:41 of these bad boys?
05:42 - Definitely.
05:43 Now this one's a fully built motor.
05:44 Running the AM 1200 turbos,
05:46 got boost, intercooler piping.
05:49 It's on the AMS street intercooler.
05:51 And then it's on a Jax 900 transmission.
05:55 So car runs good.

06:04 can you tell us a little bit about this car?
06:05 I see a GT 1000 RR.
06:07 So what's that all about?
06:07 - This is our Scottsdale Vault 1,000 horsepower GTR.
06:11 It is using the ETS street intercooler.
06:13 It is on a Cobb tune.
06:15 It has the AM 900 turbo kit
06:18 that we actually have pumped up a little bit.
06:20 Boost, let's fuel kit.
06:21 So it's running E85.
06:22 Actually, we run an E98.
06:24 - That's beautiful.
06:26 - Can I make the same run?

06:31 - While many teams kept scratching
06:43 at the 200 mile an hour barrier all day,
06:46 it seemed that all eyes were on the supercar crew
06:48 from ACG Automotive.
06:51 - The guys from ACG Automotive
06:52 are trying to break the top speed record for the day.
06:55 They're going for 220 miles an hour
06:57 in a 2000 horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo.
06:59 Let's see if they can do it.

07:12 Wow, that's fast.

07:27 and his 2000 horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo.
07:30 He just set the new record for the day, 231 miles an hour.
07:34 Can you tell us how that run felt?
07:36 - It felt awesome.
07:37 It was a really good clean run.
07:39 No wheel spin virtually.
07:40 I pulled up and he's, the guy over there was like,
07:43 "How fast did you think you went?"
07:45 And I was like, "220, maybe 225."
07:47 And he dropped the slip on me.
07:49 I could not believe it.
07:50 I've got my underground team over here who built the car
07:52 and couldn't be happier.
07:54 I did not expect to go 231.
07:56 Taking it back home, San Diego,
07:57 I'm gonna street drive it all day, every day,
07:59 like we can with these cars.
08:01 And yeah, it was pretty amazing.
08:03 - Well, congratulations, man.
08:04 That's an amazing run.
08:05 No Fly Zone is one of those events
08:14 that provides the perfect proving ground
08:16 in the endless pursuit of speed.
08:18 With a closed runway and safety crews on site,
08:21 this is an excellent place to push your car to its limits.
