00:00 Sergio Patricio, If Not Sky Foundation. Last year was the first time we collaborated with
00:04 the Lions on the dip. How did it go?
00:05 It was an amazing turnout. We had a few hundred people here. It was a great way to celebrate
00:10 the return of it after the pandemic as well. It drove a lot of footfall down to the seafront
00:15 which was great for the surrounding businesses as well. We had people in fancy dress, people
00:21 fundraising for other charities as well. There was a huge, huge success around it. Everybody
00:27 came back to the stag afterwards and enjoyed hot chocolates and the refreshments and the
00:31 entertainment that was put on there as well for the people that took part. It's so easy
00:36 to join in the fun. We're expecting more and more people this year and one of those people
00:41 is the Mayoress of Sunderland as well and she's got a little posse going on as well
00:45 which is going to be so, so much fun. Come down if you can, get the chance. If you don't
00:49 want to do the dip yourself, give them some support. Please share our links as well to
00:54 sign up, whether it's in your workplace, at your school, at your local community centres
00:58 as well. We are all in this together and that's what Red Sky is about, a fully all-inclusive
01:03 charity that works in partnership with so many other people as well. We would love,
01:08 love people to get on board and really support a fantastic tradition here in Sunderland which
01:13 is the Boxing Day dip. Our goal is to try and make it one of the biggest across the
01:17 UK and we can only do that with your support. If you're watching this at home, let's
01:21 work it together and we'll support each other. Thank you.
01:27 Jackie Robson is the Secretary of Sunderland Lions Club. It's our second year doing this
01:30 in association with the Red Sky Foundation. How did it go last year?
01:34 It was an absolutely fantastic event. It was our first collaboration with Red Sky. We're
01:38 absolutely delighted to partner with them to be able to put the dip on after the Covid
01:45 and to see the level of participation and the level of support that we've received,
01:50 it was amazing. So we're hoping to build on the successes from last year and make it
01:55 an even bigger event for the city and for giving people in the city the opportunity
02:00 to fundraise for charities which are dear to their hearts.
02:03 And how much will it cost to enter? It's a £10 registration fee.
02:07 And then everyone keeps whatever else there is on top of that?
02:09 Yes, everything there is on top of that will be for their own charities on courses.
