00:02 - All right, let's move on to another topic
00:05 which we've covered with you over the last few weeks
00:07 is getting an update on which app people
00:09 essentially are downloading on NFL Sundays
00:12 or college football Saturdays for week three,
00:15 which way did it go?
00:16 I know DraftKings and FanDuel
00:18 are gonna be very close neck and neck,
00:19 which to me is the most fascinating story with this.
00:22 Did you learn anything more from the data this week
00:24 or more of the same?
00:26 - Yeah, so as you predicted,
00:27 when we talked about this after week one,
00:29 it's one week it's FanDuel, one week it's DraftKings
00:32 going back and forth and most downloads,
00:34 I imagine that'll be the case throughout the season.
00:36 The most interesting takeaway from these numbers
00:39 from JMP Securities this week to me
00:41 was that Fanatics downloads fell by 100%.
00:44 In week two, Fanatics and PointsBet,
00:47 which is now owned by Fanatics,
00:49 had over 105,000 app downloads.
00:52 And at week three, it was only 50,000.
00:55 That comes right after they stopped pumping out
00:57 the bet $5, get $150 Jersey promo.
01:02 I know a lot of people have taken advantage of
01:04 when you have these new apps,
01:05 everyone wants to hop on the promos
01:07 and who doesn't like a free Jersey
01:08 or free gear from Fanatics?
01:10 So as soon as they kind of stopped offering that
01:12 or really marketing it heavily, their apps fell in half.
01:16 So I think it's very telling to see just, you know,
01:18 how much of the initial downloads were tied to the promos.
01:23 And, you know, in general,
01:24 downloads have dropped since week one overall,
01:27 which is to be expected.
01:29 You know, people now have the apps,
01:31 but they're up 35% year over year at the same time.
01:34 So we're still seeing a lot of growth
01:36 just on people downloading these different apps.
01:38 I mean, obviously FanDuel and DraftKings
01:40 going back and forth.
01:41 And then meanwhile, you have fantasy sports apps
01:43 on the rise as well.
01:44 PrizePix, Sleeper, and Underdog were the top three
01:47 for the third week straight.
01:48 And, you know, some of those companies like PrizePix
01:51 is up 171% downloads year over year,
01:55 while Underdog is, you know, 130%.
01:57 So that goes to show you
01:58 why maybe they're getting some more attention
02:00 in some of these states.
02:01 It's a lot more prevalent now.
02:03 And they're quite frankly killing DraftKings and FanDuel
02:06 in the fantasy department.
02:07 Maybe those companies don't care about that as much,
02:10 but maybe that's why you're seeing some more attention now.
02:12 So it's always fun to talk about these numbers.
02:15 We'll see how they fare in week four.
02:17 I predict that it's another flip flop
02:19 with DraftKings and FanDuel.
02:20 And then we'll see what happens
02:21 after Kentucky turns online, maybe a spike in downloads.
