00:00 Blue Cross, we've been working for many years with the greyhound racing industry.

00:05 And despite years of trying to improve the welfare of greyhounds,

00:10 we're still finding there are significant issues.

00:13 Between 2018 and 2022, there were over 22,000 reported injuries of greyhounds.

00:20 So we are really urging people to check out our website and sign our petition

00:26 to look at bringing an end to greyhound racing within the next five years.

00:30 So we want to make sure that we can work with the industry and that greyhounds are rehomed,

00:36 that animal welfare charities can actually find them new homes and things are put in place.

00:41 It is a big ask, but we feel like now's the time, actually, with the popularity dwindling,

00:47 there's still huge risks of these poor greyhounds that are racing.

00:51 We really want to change the life of greyhounds.

00:53 We see them in lovely homes now, you know, they love a sofa, they're very chilled out,

00:58 they make wonderful companions.

01:00 And we can't imagine our pet dogs at home, you know, going around the track racing.
