00:00 But thank you Minister Moriarty for this approval of the Newcastle Port grant of half a million
00:11 dollars towards the fit out of our new facility that's been provided rent free for a decade
00:18 by the Iain Shirley Norman Foundation.
00:21 A total game changer.
00:23 Soul Hub is a grassroots community response to some deep community needs.
00:28 There's a lot of pain in our community and it revolves around a meal and a conversation
00:33 and then a wrap around of a convergence of help, offering services, advocacy and practical
00:40 help.
00:44 Staffed by over 200 volunteers it truly is a community response.
00:49 Some months ago we put out a bit of a campaign, the big ask, donate 1.8 to, donate to 1.8
00:58 the big ask campaign as we went on this deal to raise the finance to fit out a purpose
01:04 designed facility.
01:07 And I want to say on behalf of everyone at Soul, the community response has been phenomenal.
01:16 We acknowledge we can't do that and great communities rally together and we have a great
01:22 community here.
01:23 And so on behalf of us all thank you for your generous response to what has been for us
01:29 a bold ask to raise this support and these finances.
01:35 We will be in there this year in December.
01:38 Right now our principal builder Ian, sorry our principal builder Insight Building Services
01:44 are hard at work along with multiple trades pushing deadlines and to ensure that we are
01:50 in there this December.
01:53 So on behalf of our trustees, our team, our 200 plus volunteers, perhaps more importantly
02:04 on behalf of the guests that we serve every day I want to say thank you Minister Moriarty,
02:11 Newcastle Port for choosing us amongst many other worthy causes in this city to ensure
02:20 that we get into this facility that will see us in a new future able to do more than we've
02:26 ever done.
02:27 Thank you and God bless you all.
