00:00 >> And Dang, that's a great player, incredible.
00:02 Remember, you guys held him down for most of the first half.
00:04 I guess how hard, what do you think of his play and
00:06 how hard is it to hold a guy down like that for a whole game?
00:09 [INAUDIBLE]
00:16 >> Well, I say he's a very great player.
00:19 We had a very good game plan.
00:21 The result didn't go out the way we wanted to, but at the end of the day,
00:23 we still play hard and we still held him down as much as we could.
00:27 So, >> Yeah, I mean,
00:31 he's a great runner, great passer.
00:33 He's been in talks for Heisman for a while.
00:38 So I mean, we just come out,
00:41 just wanted to make him feel a little fresher than we did that in the first half.
00:45 And yeah, I mean, he just is an excellent player.
00:49 It's kind of turned out great.
00:52 Gotta look back and give him credit.
00:54 >> I mean, is it what kind of change from the first half to second half?
01:00 Coach came in here and kind of said that their ability to run the ball a little bit
01:03 better might have softened up the past defense.
01:06 I'm curious, how much does that kind of running it affect the past defense and
01:11 maybe what else did you guys think that changed or the defense?
01:14 >> Yeah, I think they got a soundful run offense in the second half.
01:19 And so maybe having to play more aggressive on that.
01:22 Allowed them to go deep a few times.
01:27 I mean, they got great coaches, we got great coaches and
01:31 they just made some good adjustments at halftime.
01:34 >> Was there anything from the BYU game to this game that woke you or what?
01:39 But it looks like you guys played a lot better.
01:42 >> No, we was just ready for the game, rivalry game.
01:46 So we was just ready to step up to the challenge and play good defense and
01:50 go out there and just ball up.
01:52 >> Yeah, I think same thing.
01:53 I mean, we had great intensity all practice this week.
01:57 And so I think just especially coming off a loss against BYU.
02:01 I mean, you never wanna have that happen, but had to happen again today.
02:06 So I mean, coming next week, we had to do the same thing we did in practice and
02:09 just be aggressive next Saturday.
02:11 >> Was there from the last minute of the first half,
02:15 did you guys feel like that just gave them just a ton of momentum to, hey,
02:18 we can maybe do this and this will work for us.
02:21 Going into halftime, whereas you guys had all the momentum.
02:24 >> I don't know.
02:28 I think they just made some good adjustments at halftime,
02:31 given that run off is established.
02:34 And so I think that might have been it.
02:37 >> Hudson, you've been watching KJ for a while.
02:40 Jaheim, now this is your first time.
02:41 I don't know how much you guys are able to watch during the game, but
02:43 what's it like from the sideline?
02:45 I mean, you kind of put a really good performance together for the audience.
02:49 >> Yeah, I mean, every time one goes out there, he's gonna do his thing.
02:52 Sometimes it looks like he's gonna get sacked and
02:54 he just bounced right off the defense.
02:56 And so, I mean, you can never count him out running or passing the ball.
03:02 >> Like you say, very physical running, very great QB,
03:05 able to put the ball in small spaces where the defense don't know and
03:09 be able to just make adjustments on the field just like that, so.
03:12 >> You know, once LSU is throwing their hardest stuff,
03:16 I don't know what they did to Mississippi State.
03:17 But you don't feel like, hey, whatever Daniels does, we got KJ.
03:20 He's gonna go out there and do something too.
03:23 What was the thought on that?
03:24 >> I just feel like, you know, very both great players.
03:27 But just KJ is going out there just being able to just respond to the moment,
03:32 respond to the momentum and be able to make those plays and
03:35 put the ball where it needs to be at the right exact moment is real.
03:38 >> Yeah, I mean, kind of the same thing.
03:41 He just, you know, every time he steps out on the field, he's gonna compete.
03:44 And we got great trust in the offense that they're gonna go do their thing.
03:47 And then they got great trust in us.
03:48 I think it goes both ways.
03:51 >> And that's not the outcome you want, but they were 17 point favorites and
03:54 all that, everything going from you guys coming off a tough loss,
03:57 and you're all in the middle of a wire.
03:58 How good do you feel about the effort and
04:00 just how you can build on that maybe for next week?
04:03 >> I'll say just great effort, man.
04:05 We fought our heart out.
04:07 We've played to the end of the whistle.
04:08 So just being able to just bounce back, go back to work next,
04:12 go back to work this week, practice hard.
04:13 Cuz we got a great opponent coming up against us.
04:16 So just being able to just keep that momentum going on the defense and
04:19 offense and just play.
04:21 >> Yeah, I think we gave great effort for all 60 minutes.
04:26 I mean, a loss is never acceptable.
04:28 And so I think going into next week, we gotta fix some stuff and
04:32 then just get ready to play again.
