00:09 The Bears finished a week from hell by trying to put a positive spin on
00:12 everything at Hallis Hall.
00:14 But Patrick Mahomes just doesn't care.
00:16 Mahomes is back in Kansas City waiting for the Bears with Matt Nagy,
00:20 their former coach and the Chiefs offensive coordinator,
00:23 hoping to go two and one on the season and
00:25 extend the Bears losing streak to 13 straight.

00:30 It's the Bears and the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
00:33 Here's who wins and why.
00:35 We'll look first at the positional group matchups where the Bears have to be favored.
00:39 Well, special teams and that's about it.
00:42 And it's being a bit generous considering Dave Tobe is their special teams
00:45 coordinator.
00:47 But Cairo Santos, 90% of field goals with the Bears is a bit better than
00:51 Harrison Bunker with Kansas City at 88.4%.
00:55 Bunker has a bigger leg, but they usually score touchdowns in Kansas City,
00:58 not field goals.
01:00 Return man Richie James has struggled badly for Kansas City to a 4.0 punt return
01:05 average and 14 yard kick return average and
01:08 isn't as good as either one of the Bears return men.
01:10 There is a push here and no one would have thought this based on last year.
01:16 But the Bears run defense does look better than in 2022.
01:20 Although it seemed their first two opponents felt it better to test their
01:24 past defense.
01:26 Justin Jones, Andrew Billings, DeMarcus Walker and
01:28 TJ Edwards have made them a little bit more stout.
01:31 They're 16th against the run in 31st last year.
01:35 Kansas City's running attack with Isaiah Pacheco hasn't been bad, but
01:39 he hasn't had much of a chance with 93 total yards and 20 carries.
01:43 They've had to get 13 of their 45 carries from Mahomes.
01:48 Wonder what's going on with that.
01:51 Every other area favors the Chiefs in this one.
01:54 Justin Fields started to find DJ more last week with the Bears passing game
01:58 is really trying to get its footing right now.
02:00 And Kansas City's pass rush with Chris Jones back is just too much for
02:04 them to handle, especially with Braxton Jones out of the lineup now.
02:08 The Bears running game hasn't really been allowed to take root just like
02:11 Kansas City's.
02:12 Luke Getzey gave up on the run and teams have also taken away fields as a runner.
02:18 The Chiefs are 12th against the run.
02:20 They don't give Khalil Herbert or Roshun Johnson enough carries.
02:24 And of course, Kansas City's passing game with Mahomes is a huge check mark over
02:29 the Bears pass defense and fails to finish on rushes,
02:33 even if the quarterback is in their grasp.
02:35 Kansas City leads the NFL in drop passes, but Mahomes just keeps firing.
02:40 Look for him to go after Bears cornerbacks Tyreek Stevenson and
02:42 Josh Blackwell.
02:45 Coaching advantage goes to Andy Reid, of course,
02:47 although Matt Nagy counts as a minus against him.
02:51 And Matt Iberflues has been running around all week trying to put out fires more than
02:55 anything else.
02:56 That leads us to the intangibles where the confusion at Hall's Hall this week
03:00 is just not conducive to a good week of preparation.
03:03 Although the Bears insist they're ready.
03:06 It all adds up to a final score of 34 to 13 for Kansas City.
03:10 There's too much Kansas City defense this year and
03:13 Mahomes receivers can't keep dropping his passes, can they?
03:17 It's loss number 13 is succession for the Bears.
