Big Feed Kitchen have launched their latest event aimed at Glaswegian’s of all ages in collaboration with Melting Pot and Mini Manoeuvres. Big Feed in the Park will be at Kelvingrove until 24 September.

00:00 So this event came about about three years ago.
00:02 So when the pandemic hit, one of the things that the council did was close off Kelvin
00:07 Way to allow people to walk in the open air and a wee bit more space.
00:11 And when that happened, what it did was it kind of created a really interesting space
00:17 as well.
00:18 And being in the events industry for, you know, 40 years, almost, I thought it'd be
00:22 brilliant to put something here.
00:24 I spoke to Jory, who's my fellow co-owner at Big Feed, and we came up with the idea
00:29 of having Big Feed here and all the street food traders and then entertainment.
00:34 So we've been running a Big Feed food market through in Govan for a number of years.
00:40 And so this was almost like Big Feed on stilts.
00:43 You know, just do it bigger, do it better, you know, in terms of more variety of food
00:50 and just have more people along.
00:52 So that was the concept.
00:53 But the interesting thing here is this has never been done before.
00:55 So you're certainly playing events in the bandstand and there's things that have happened
00:59 out on the road, but they've never closed Kelvin Way at all.
01:03 So it's a bit of a test event really for the council as well.
01:06 And they're really keen to see how this works, you know.
01:09 And what better way to do it than Big Feed because we're all about local people, local
01:13 community.
01:14 It's a low cost ticket price.
01:15 Ticket price includes all the kids activities, your face painting and balloon modelling,
01:19 arts and crafts.
01:20 So it's a kind of low cost entry event aimed at families and the local people in Glasgow.

01:30 So this is Zippy and our lovely box office staff who are looking after everybody when

01:36 So they'll be here all weekend and they'll look after the people when they come in.

01:42 So we partner with various people.
01:45 We like partnerships and we've got lots of good partnerships.
01:48 So we've got a market company here who have brought in all the traders they work with.
01:51 So a bit like Big Feed does the food, we've got market friends who will do, bring in the
01:59 market stalls.
02:00 So let's go and have a look at some of the stuff we're selling if you want to see that.
02:03 Things we wanted to focus on with the market was that we wanted it to be, have a real kind
02:07 of Glasgow and kind of Scottish feel about it.
02:09 So no doubt you'll pick some of the things up on the stalls that are, you know, that
02:14 wee bit more Glaswegian.
02:16 And where possible we try to make sure that we've got, we try and make sure that we've
02:20 got, as I say, local people, local traders.
02:23 And that's important, you know, it's important for us as a business because we're local business
02:26 people, you know, we live in the area and it's also important, you know, from a city
02:30 point of view that we're boosting and making sure that local artists are doing things.
02:35 So and getting a chance to come and sell their wares.
02:38 So as you can see here, we've got our lovely market traders who are coming in and we'll
02:45 get Sandra's Sun Catchers.
02:48 We've got quite a, we've got quite a big thing about dogs.
02:52 Big Feeds is really dog friendly actually, you know, we've always been dog friendly in
02:55 everything we do.
02:57 So you'll probably see that there's lots of things in here, you know, for various different
03:00 dogs and leads and...

03:16 So yeah, so everything here, you know, from, as I say, cosmetics, you know, handcrafted,

03:29 So we've kind of came through the entrance, we've had a wee look at the market stalls,
03:33 things actually are just starting to kind of open up, you know, so the doors are just
03:36 opened and people are starting to come in.
03:38 Anyway, we're now going to look at some of the food, if you want to do that.
03:42 So we've got a selection of food operators, street food vendors from all over Scotland.
03:50 They travel from everywhere and they'll cover a whole range of food.
03:56 So we'll cover everything from Thai, we've got pizza, we've got brownies, we've got stuffed
