00:00 Hi Harper's Bazaar, I'm Margaret Qualley,
00:02 and I'm gonna answer some questions that are all about me.
00:05 This is gonna be fine, what?
00:10 Oh, as in like, this is like a,
00:12 this is part of the thing, this is a bit.
00:14 I was like, it's gonna be fine, I'm gonna, it's okay.
00:16 [laughing]
00:17 I guess I was wrong, because I don't know the answer to this.
00:20 What is Alex's first line in "Maid"?
00:22 I have almost no idea.
00:28 Like, trying to think of what happens.
00:30 Shh, shh, it's shh, shh, okay, great.
00:38 [laughing]
00:40 It was my first time working with a child.
00:49 I absolutely love the young actress
00:50 that played my daughter, Riley,
00:51 but it's also just hard to make it
00:54 so that it doesn't feel like work for a little kid.
00:56 I guess it's like a dry run at what it would be like
00:58 to be a parent, and it's hard.
01:00 [laughing]
01:01 Which Fosse/Verdon actor was also born in Montana?
01:04 Michelle Williams.
01:05 Easy, we're very proud of Michelle Williams,
01:07 and I adore her.
01:09 I've always just looked up to her as an actress.
01:11 "Blue Valentine" was one of those movies
01:13 that made me wanna be an actor.
01:15 Like, she's just the very best, and so cool,
01:18 and so working with her and getting to know her
01:19 was really important to me,
01:20 and really, just such an incredible experience.
01:24 Who were you nominated alongside at the 2022 Emmys?
01:28 I wish that I remembered, that would be really great.
01:31 God, I should remember this.
01:33 - [Producer] Toni Collette, Julia Garner,
01:34 Lily James, Sarah Paulson, and Amanda Seyfried.
01:37 [clapping]
01:39 - Knockouts.
01:40 - [Producer] How did you feel
01:41 when that list of nominations came out?
01:42 - I thought, "God, I'll remember this forever."
01:45 [laughing]
01:47 - [Producer] Are you friends with any of them?
01:48 - No, I think if I were friends with any of them
01:50 that I would've remembered, but I admire all of them.
01:53 I'd love to be their friend, if they'll have me.
01:56 Maybe not after this.
01:58 Which Lana Del Rey album does the song "Margaret" appear on?
02:01 The last one, "Did You Know There's a Tunnel
02:03 Under Ocean Boulevard."
02:05 Having a song written about me by Lana
02:07 was just like a crazy, beautiful, mind-blowing experience.
02:12 I love Lana so much.
02:14 I think she's just like the very best artist
02:16 and such a beautiful person.
02:18 One of the most giving people I've ever met.
02:20 Like, she lights up the room,
02:21 but she also lights up every single person in the room.
02:23 She makes me feel like my life's a movie.
02:24 I love you, Lana.
02:26 I love you, Lana.
02:28 I love you, Lana.
02:29 Who designed your 2017 Met Gala dress?
02:32 Probble.
02:34 [ding]
02:35 [laughing]
02:36 - [Producer] What was the process of putting that together?
02:38 - It was my first time going to the Met,
02:40 and I think it all just kinda like happened pretty quickly.
02:43 I don't think I had much agency,
02:44 but I was thrilled to be there,
02:46 and it was an exciting evening.
02:47 - [Producer] Were you nervous at all?
02:48 - Anything press-oriented is inherently
02:51 like a little nerve-wracking,
02:52 just because it's not that intimate.
02:54 I'm always a little nervous having my photo taken.
02:57 I think about how back in the day,
02:59 an entire family would just like stand outside
03:02 of their house once a year, wearing their best outfit,
03:05 and have their photo taken once.
03:07 And I sometimes think that like that's the way to do it,
03:10 just because it does make me nervous,
03:11 but I'm in the wrong profession,
03:12 and I really accepted that.
03:15 I think the better answer would've just been like,
03:17 yeah, I was nervous.
03:18 [laughing]
03:20 - How many Oscar nominations did "Once Upon a Time"
03:22 in Hollywood receive?
03:24 I really have a horrible memory, I think.
03:26 The only thing I remember is that
03:28 it didn't receive Best Movie.
03:30 I remember being bummed for Quentin,
03:32 'cause I thought like this was a real like ode to Hollywood,
03:35 and I wanted him to win, and it didn't get Best Picture.
03:39 Brad got Best Actor, so I'm gonna, how many?
03:44 10. [bell dings]
03:45 I saw someone's hands in the background.
03:47 Working with Quentin Tarantino was the best.
03:49 He goes to set every day, like it's Christmas morning.
03:51 He's so happy to be there.
03:52 He loves what he's doing, and it's entirely infectious,
03:55 and I would do anything that he said at any moment,
03:59 including right now, if he walked in
04:00 and told me to do something, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
04:02 How many songs has Jack Antonoff written
04:03 or co-produced with Taylor Swift?
04:05 85, 71, 34, 56.
04:08 I don't know, a lot?
04:09 I'm, if, I'm gonna say 71.
04:14 [buzzer buzzes]
04:14 56.
04:15 Well, almost.
04:17 Watching them work is like crazy.
04:18 It's amazing.
04:19 It's two people at their very best
04:21 at what they do doing the thing together.
04:23 It's like a rocket ship.
04:24 It's insane.
04:24 - Do you have a favorite song?
04:26 - I'm trying to decide.
04:27 There's a lot.
04:28 Off the last album, maybe I can narrow it down.
04:30 I really like "Maroon" and "Lavender Haze,"
04:32 but I love them all.
04:34 You made your modeling debut at 16.
04:36 Who did you walk for?
04:37 Debut, Albran Ferretti.
04:39 [bell dings]
04:40 My hair was frizzy and center parted.
04:43 I remember.
04:44 I wasn't that nervous, 'cause I didn't have passion.
04:47 [laughs]
04:48 But it was cool.
04:49 How many Golden Globes nominations
04:51 has your mom, Annie McDowell, received?
04:53 Three, four, seven, or two.
04:55 Well, I'm not gonna say two, 'cause that seems mean.
04:57 I should just guess seven.
04:58 I'm gonna guess seven and have you tell me how many.
05:00 [laughs]
05:02 Four.
05:04 Good job.
05:05 What did I learn from my mom about the entertainment world?
05:06 I think like different things at different times in my life.
05:09 I think like as a small person,
05:11 I learned that like on movie sets,
05:14 people smoke cigarettes and say the word fuck a lot,
05:16 you know, and then as like an older person,
05:19 I learned different things that hopefully have applied.
05:22 Which award show did you and Jack Anginoff
05:25 first attend together?
05:26 I know he met my mom at an AFI lunch,
05:29 but is that an award show?
05:31 No, that's like at a luncheon, so.
05:33 I have no idea.
05:33 The Emmys?
05:35 No.
05:36 Grammys?
05:37 No.
05:38 [laughs]

05:43 What was your character's full name in "Seyberg"?
05:46 I can't remember her first name.
05:47 [laughs]
05:50 I can tell you the cast of the movie.
05:52 Kristen Stewart, Jack O'Connell, Zazie Beetz,
05:57 and my character's name is Julie.
06:02 Jacqueline.
06:03 Emily.
06:04 [laughs]
06:05 - Lynette Solomon.
06:06 - Lynette Solomon.
06:08 What colors were your bouquet
06:09 at Chanel's 2021 Haute Couture show?
06:11 White, pink, and purple.
06:14 Pink and purple.
06:15 [laughs]
06:18 I was really happy.
06:19 It was like a really special opportunity for me.
06:21 I really loved doing it.
06:22 I'd also, I'd just fallen in love
06:24 and I was like, I felt like it was good timing,
06:26 like a good omen to be the Chanel bride.
06:28 And it was turned out.
06:29 I remember feeling like shocked at how emotional I felt.
06:33 And then I got to like toss the bouquet
06:34 and I was nervous about that and it went well.
06:37 It was a great experience.
06:38 What is your sun, moon, and rising sign?
06:40 I don't know all of them.
06:44 I know, what's the generic sign version?
06:48 That's sun.
06:49 Okay, so that's a Scorpio.
06:51 I thought there was four things.
06:53 I feel like three of four things are in Scorpio,
06:56 in the house of Scorpio.
06:57 And the nether one is in, I don't remember.
07:00 Pisces, maybe.
07:01 Some of them are Scorpio.
07:02 One of them's Pisces.
07:03 More than one of them are Scorpio.
07:05 What does the internet say?
07:06 - Scorpio, sun.
07:07 - Okay.
