00:00 Thank you Speaker Sir. As I stand to support the bill which has already been implemented
00:09 by my leader Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. West Bengal is the only state in the country
00:16 which has a female Chief Minister, I'm sorry to say, in spite of Bharatiya Janata Party
00:22 having their rule in 16 states. At the moment we don't have any woman Chief Minister there.
00:28 We are actually delighted to witness the realization of our leader Mamata Banerjee's vision where
00:36 women's rightful entitlements are being recognized and initiatives are being taken to uphold
00:43 the vision throughout the country. She passionately advocated for the implementation of women's
00:49 reservation all her life, right from 1996 when it was tabled first. And she was the
00:55 member of the committee headed by the then Honourable Member, Srimati Geeta Mukherjee,
01:01 trying to argue for the passing of the bill. Possibly keeping in mind the sage Swami Vivekananda
01:10 who said, "Na jagile bharat lalo na, e bharat jage na, jage na." It is the awakening of
01:15 women of India which awakes India towards development. Bengal has boldly demonstrated
01:22 and spearheaded a paradigm shift leading the entire nation towards progress. Notably our
01:28 leaders in the Assembly, we have more women than anywhere else in the country. We have
01:37 more women ministers along with Mamata Banerjee. And in the Lok Sabha, right from 2014, we've
01:45 been having more than 33% reservation within the party, so to say, without any forceful
01:53 reservation being implemented through any parliamentary procedure or through the Election
01:59 Commission. At the moment, in this August House of Lok Sabha, Trinamool Congress, all
02:05 India Trinamool Congress has nearly 40% of women members and also in the Rajya Sabha.
02:11 This is what Srimati Mamata Banerjee has done. She is the only Chief Minister, like I said,
02:20 and she's been implemented… implementing different programs for empowering the women,
02:29 for empowering women towards education, for empowering women towards better health and
02:36 towards better administrative positions. It is ironic to note that despite the seemingly
02:43 proposed affection towards women demonstrated by the ND Alliance today, just six months
02:49 before the general elections, none of the 16 states has a woman Chief Minister. What
02:55 took them so long? Why wasn't this bill bought in 2014? Why just now, just before the election?
03:03 What are they trying to prove to the people? Is it like a gimmick? Is it like pulling out
03:10 a rabbit from their hat and placing it before the country? The government has raised many
03:17 questions against themselves. Why is the delimitation linked with the reservation? It's a sinister
03:24 move and will have more members in Parliament from states which have failed in population
03:30 control and poor women empowerment. Rather than allocating vast sums of money towards
03:36 construction of structures and altering names of citizens and nations, I would urge my colleagues
03:43 in BJP to prioritize transformation of the mindset. It is imperative that they demonstrate
03:50 genuine respect for women by aligning their actions with their words. Moreover, it is
03:57 crucial that they take appropriate action against all individuals who are harming the
04:03 women, showing disrespect towards the women. The golden girls of the country who got us
04:08 medals have been sexually harassed and they were in Jantar Mantar. But the perpetrator
04:14 sits here today, Brij Bhushan Singh, who has not been brought to book. So if you are really
04:21 interested in taking care of the women towards betterment and progress, then why don't you
04:27 take action against the perpetrators? Why don't you take action against those people
04:33 who have been molesting and killing women in Hathras, killing women in Unnao. Little
04:40 Asifa was stoned to death in Jammu and the wrestlers, like I said, they have been manhandled,
