Transcript
00:00 Yeah, Trajan, I believe this is your first trip to Death Valley.
00:03 Did you ever go there as a recruit?
00:05 I know you all played at Missouri in 2020,
00:08 but that was in Columbia.
00:10 Just your thoughts on going there,
00:12 and have you ever been there before?
00:14 No, I have not been there before.
00:16 This is going to be my first trip down there.
00:19 Excited to see the environment,
00:20 excited to play down there with my team.
00:22 And what are your thoughts on what you see from them
00:25 up front on the offensive line?
00:26 They've got a couple of true sophomores
00:28 at offensive tackle,
00:30 guys that were freshman All-Americans last year.
00:31 What have you seen out of those guys?
00:33 Oh, very talented O-line, very talented offense.
00:36 We've been looking at them.
00:38 Pretty good team.
00:39 You got a running quarterback,
00:42 and Daniel's obviously a big responsibility
00:45 for defensive ends, his contain and stuff like that.
00:47 Just what are your thoughts on him
00:48 and just his running ability,
00:50 and, of course, at the same time,
00:52 he was 30-34 passing last week.
00:54 Yeah, I feel like he's a very quick, athletic,
00:57 very great quarterback, honestly.
00:59 He's very fast, very shifty.
01:02 He can throw. He can do it all.
01:03 So he's a really good guy.
01:06 Really good guy, really good athlete.
01:08 You think it's kind of wild?
01:09 I mean, you've been in school since -
01:12 you're 18, right, freshman in 2018?
01:15 Yes, sir.
01:16 And you've only played LSU one other time.
01:17 You think that's pretty wild?
01:20 Yeah, that's pretty wild.
01:21 It's closing out my collegiate career, just playing them.
01:25 That's going to be pretty exciting.
01:28 Thank you. No problem.
01:30 Tom?
01:31 Hey, Trajan.
01:35 What would you point to as the things
01:37 that the defense didn't do well against BYU?
01:43 I mean, overall, we had a lot of things to get better at.
01:48 Can't really pinpoint one.
01:49 I mean, we're trying to get better day by day,
01:52 but we're going to get better this game.
01:55 Yeah, and the run defense so far has been really stout.
01:58 What has played into your nice production in run defense?
02:04 Just physicality.
02:06 Coach - D-line coach,
02:08 Coach Deke Adams emphasized physicality.
02:11 So we really been getting after it.
02:13 Linebacker's coming down here as well.
02:15 So we've been getting after it.
02:16 Physicality is the big thing for us.
02:19 Y'all are piping a lot of noise in.
02:21 What's it like working in those conditions,
02:22 and how important is it to be ready that way?
02:26 It definitely help us communicate.
02:28 It definitely help us with attention to detail,
02:30 just trying to block out the noise
02:32 and just listen to what we got at hand.
02:34 So it's been helping us.
02:37 Hey, Trajan. How you doing?
02:45 Hey, I was wondering, now that you've been here a while,
02:47 what's your take on Landon Jackson,
02:49 what kind of player he is,
02:51 what he brings to the table for you guys?
02:53 Yeah, Landon is a very, very, very good player.
02:56 He's very strong, very stout.
02:58 He can move. He has fluent hips.
03:01 So, I mean, he's a really good player.
03:03 He's definitely a vocal guy as well.
03:06 Yeah, that's really all I can say.
03:07 He's a great player. Everybody respect him.
03:10 When everybody respect you in the room,
03:11 that shows how great of an athlete you are
03:13 and how great of a person you are.
03:14 So, yeah.
03:16 He's going back. You know, he played LSU.
03:19 As a freshman before he transferred here.
03:22 Just do you get a sense for how excited he is to go back
03:26 as he talked to you about it?
03:27 And does he give you guys any tips
03:29 about playing at Tiger Stadium?
03:30 What's it like?
03:32 And maybe that can help you all out a little bit.
03:34 Oh, no tips, but he definitely was excited
03:37 on going back to Baton Rouge and playing.
03:40 He said the environment is pretty good.
03:43 I'm just excited to play in that environment.
03:46 And then just what's it been like this week,
03:49 you know, coming off a tough loss?
03:51 And I know other guys have said
03:52 you felt like you should have won the game and all that.
03:54 Just kind of what's been the mindset of the team this week?
03:58 Definitely regroup, move forward,
04:00 know we got to focus on taking one day at a time.
04:05 Thanks.
04:06 No problem.
04:10 Yeah, Tariq.
04:11 Hey, man, when a great player goes down,
04:14 you got to have someone step up.
04:15 Talk about -- I know this is other side of the football,
04:17 but A.J. Green's really stepped up,
04:19 you know, and helped with the absence of Rocket.
04:22 Just talk about A.J.'s contribution to the team.
04:25 Oh, A.J. has been a great part of our offense.
04:29 Very shifty running back, very smart running back as well.
04:31 Has a tremendous breakout speed.
04:33 I feel like he's a great player.
04:35 Yeah. Do you feel like the defense is --
04:39 is the defense about where you thought
04:40 it would be at this point?
04:41 I'm talking about the overall defense,
04:43 or is it a little ahead, a little behind?
04:46 Where do you feel like you're at right now, the team?
04:50 I definitely feel like we're in a great place,
04:52 so we're definitely taking everything one day at a time,
04:54 striving to do better and better every day.
04:57 I say that's where we're at, just not being too high,
05:00 not being too low,
05:01 just continuously trying to get better.
