I can't tell you how exciting it was to go on this trip to Altea. As you might know, in Spain we had a hard lockdown in 2020, here in Valencia we were ordered to stay inside for several weeks. Once the lockdown ended and we were allowed to leave the province of Valencia we decided to go the neighboring province Alicante for a week in Altea.
Looking back now, in May 2020 the pandemic felt still very young but measurements were in place, like wearing masks in public spaces. We rented an Airbnb (with zero contact check-in) and tried to stay away from other people.
It's hard to describe but we needed this week, seeing something else than Valencia and being close to the water was doing us so good mentally.
