00:00 So the first thing, the most important thing to address
00:02 is camel toe.
00:03 Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than a nice camel toe.
00:07 I can't stand it.
00:08 I won't go to the gym with a camel toe.
00:10 I'd rather go to the gym in a pair
00:11 of completely sheer leggings
00:13 than go anywhere with any camel toe.
00:15 So I could tell you things like,
00:16 make sure to get your correct size,
00:17 wear thicker leggings,
00:19 don't wear leggings that have a front seam.
00:21 But if you have a pair of leggings that you really like
00:23 and you just really wanna reduce that camel toe,
00:25 I have a few tips for you.
00:26 First things first,
00:27 make sure you're not going commando in your leggings.
00:30 If you're going commando in your leggings,
00:31 there's nothing to separate that little front seam
00:33 and your region.
00:35 So it's very easy for things to settle,
00:38 if you know what I mean.
00:39 So I have three levels of solutions for you.
00:41 First thing, if you're in the gym
00:42 and all of a sudden you realize you have some camel toe
00:44 and you're like, well, crap, I cannot deal with this.
00:47 Something that I've done that actually works a decent amount
00:50 is go to the bathroom,
00:51 take a few squares of toilet paper,
00:54 wrap them up a few times
00:55 and just kind of put them in your underwear.
00:57 And honestly, it kind of creates a barrier for the seam
00:59 to not quite cut up as much.
01:01 It's obviously not the most comfortable
01:03 to have a thick layer of something in your underwear,
01:05 but toilet paper doesn't have to be that thick
01:08 and it honestly really helps.
01:09 So that's the quickest fix.
01:10 And next I have tip number two,
01:12 which is somewhat of a quick fix,
01:13 but you might not always have these with you,
01:15 panty liners.
01:16 This is basically the same concept as the toilet paper,
01:19 except it works just a little bit better.
01:21 It works just a little bit better
01:23 and it stays put more in your underwear.
01:25 So this is what I tend to use
01:27 when I have a pair of leggings
01:28 that really give me camel toe that I still wanna wear.
01:30 And the third solution is definitely,
01:32 if you're like really prone to getting camel toe
01:34 and you get it like all the time,
01:36 you can actually buy camel toe underwear preventers
01:38 on Amazon or probably in stores too.
01:41 Basically they're kind of like a thicker version
01:43 of a panty liner with like a little more structure
01:45 and shape.
01:46 And let me tell you those things,
01:47 I've seen some reviews on them as well.
01:49 They get rid of any camel toe.
01:50 So now that our leggings are nice and camel toe proof,
01:53 we will now get into how to make things more squat proof.
01:56 I know what you're saying.
01:57 You're like, "Kathryn, if something's not squat proof,
01:59 "it's not squat proof."
02:00 Well, you know, yes, it's true.
02:03 If something's not squat proof, it's not squat proof,
02:05 but you can make things a little more squat proof.
02:07 Tip number one, seamless nude underwear.
02:10 This is for things like super light,
02:11 like yellow leggings or something,
02:13 where you can really just see like your entire butt
02:15 when you squat.
02:16 And there's really not much to do to fix it.
02:18 So if you have a pair of seamless nude underwear,
02:20 I'm talking the kind of underwear
02:21 that actually covers like the cheeks,
02:23 not just a thong.
02:24 When you squat, instead of seeing your butt,
02:26 you'll just see like a uniform nude color.
02:28 So you can't see any crack or anything.
02:30 So basically it kind of will look like it's squat proof.
02:32 In this case, I would recommend getting a seamless pair
02:35 of nude underwear so you don't see any panty lines.
02:37 Tip number two, which I actually do this
02:39 for all of my leggings, is pull more fabric
02:41 from the leggings to be around your butt.
02:43 If you're not doing this with all of your leggings,
02:45 you're really not giving them a fair chance
02:46 to be completely squat proof.
02:48 Basically, the more fabric you're gonna have
02:49 around your butt region,
02:50 the more opaque your leggings are going to be.
02:52 And if you have a thin amount of fabric around your butt,
02:55 let's just take these leggings as an example.
02:57 If you have this much room around your butt
02:59 and then you stretch it,
03:00 it has less room to stretch and more likely to be sheer.
03:03 But if you have like this much fabric around your butt
03:05 and you stretch it, it has more room to stretch,
03:08 so it's less likely to be super sheer.
03:10 When you squat, your squat is about the same, right?
03:12 So if you have more fabric,
03:14 then the leggings stretch out less,
03:16 so they should be less sheer.
03:17 This isn't gonna fix all of your squat proof problems,
03:20 but it honestly helps a lot.
03:21 And if you have leggings that you ever feel like
03:23 they're gonna like get a run up the butt or something,
03:25 which has happened to me like multiple times in the gym,
03:27 to be honest, if you pull more of the legging up your leg
03:30 to be around your butt,
03:32 you also will just feel more comfortable squatting
03:34 and just feel less tightness
03:35 around the crotch area in general.
03:37 Now for cellulite.
03:38 I actually don't have any tips
03:39 to make a certain pair of leggings more cellulite friendly
03:42 if they're not already,
03:43 but I do have some tips you can use to find leggings
03:45 that are more cellulite friendly.
03:46 First thing, you're not gonna see a lot of cellulite
03:48 in like black or dark leggings.
03:50 So if you're really concerned about it,
03:52 those are gonna be perfect for you.
03:53 Second of all, look for leggings
03:54 with some texture or some patterns, especially patterns.
03:58 You are not going to be able to see any like pits and valleys
04:01 and everything in your legs
04:02 if you have a big pattern covering it.
04:04 Basically, this is the best way
04:05 to completely camouflage your cellulite.
04:07 You're not gonna see any through like some busy pattern.
04:10 And third, if you have a legging with some texture in it,
04:12 like maybe some ribbed material,
04:14 maybe like a little like diamond knit kind of pattern,
04:18 that will also be really good for hiding your cellulite
04:20 because basically all cellulite is,
04:22 is like adding texture to your legs.
04:23 So if you have texture in the leggings,
04:25 then you're gonna be set.
04:26 I do talk about in all of my reviews
04:28 if I think a pair of leggings
04:29 is going to be cellulite friendly or not.
04:30 So if it's a legging I've reviewed,
04:32 you'll always know if it's going to be
04:33 cellulite friendly or not.
04:34 And now for probably the most requested tip
04:37 is how to get rid of panty lines.
04:38 So a lot of people go to the gym commando,
04:41 which I personally don't do, makes me feel a little weird.
04:44 And like we talked about before,
04:45 you're leaving yourself very susceptible to camel toe,
04:48 which we all know I do not like.
04:50 To the gym I personally wear seamless thong underwear.
04:53 So this is just like your classic
04:54 really thin seamless thong.
04:56 And my issue with this is that they're so thin
04:58 and the edges are just cut
05:00 that they roll up like really easily.
05:02 So basically you'll get these all settled on your body
05:05 and then you'll put on your leggings
05:06 and then it'll just roll right up the sides
05:09 and then you can see them again,
05:10 which is like defeats the point of the seamless underwear.
05:12 So my favorite seamless underwear
05:14 are the ones from Victoria's Secret.
05:16 These are literally game changers.
05:17 I recommend them to everyone.
05:19 I actually just went to Victoria's Secret the other day
05:21 to try to buy more and I couldn't find them.
05:23 So I'm just gonna have to go online
05:24 and buy like a bunch more of these
05:25 because I go through them so quick.
05:27 So I found out the most devastating news.
05:30 Apparently Victoria's Secret
05:31 doesn't make these underwear anymore.
05:34 They were literally the best underwear on the whole planet.
05:36 My mom and I literally love them so much,
05:37 but I have some news.
05:38 So basically there's a brand called Ebi,
05:40 which I think is like Sofia Vergara's underwear brand.
05:43 And it's a subscription box,
05:44 but the underwear is exactly the same.
05:46 Like it has the little like velvet part on the inside.
05:50 These are like a full underwear version.
05:51 So disappointed in Victoria's Secret,
05:53 but I just placed an order for an Ebi box.
05:55 So there's an option for you guys.
05:57 They're basically the same concept.
05:59 They're the seamless underwear.
06:00 They just have a cut edge.
06:02 They don't have any seams along the edge,
06:03 but the inside of all of the seams
06:05 have this like kind of thick, almost like grippy material.
06:08 So it actually stays on your body really well.
06:11 And it doesn't roll up nearly as much.
06:13 Basically it adds some structure
06:14 to the outside of the underwear
06:15 without adding a seam.
06:17 So you can't see it,
06:18 but it also prevents it from rolling.
06:20 So I'm gonna link these down below
06:21 because literally these are the best underwear
06:23 in the world for the gym.
06:24 I have them in like nude colors.
06:26 I have them in like patterns.
06:28 I think I have a pattern somewhere here.
06:29 Yeah, patterns.
06:30 I have black, like I have everything.
06:32 These are the best.
06:33 Now we're gonna talk about some tips
06:34 on how to prevent damage to your leggings
06:37 and how to take care of them.
06:38 So my main tip for preventing damage to your leggings,
06:40 and by damage I mean like kind of ripping,
06:43 fraying, and like pilling.
06:45 Never do a leg day or any band work
06:47 with any leggings that have eyelets
06:49 or are very prone to pilling.
06:51 For example, we have these Gymshark Flawless Knit Leggings.
06:54 Super cute, mostly squat proof.
06:56 You could wear them on a leg day.
06:58 But I do not wear these on a leg day,
06:59 nor do I wear any Energy Seamless Leggings
07:01 because they have these very delicate but cute eyelets
07:05 right around like the thigh region.
07:07 So if you do any band work,
07:09 if you do any band work with like a thick band like this,
07:12 I love these bands because they really stay put
07:14 and don't move, but they can damage your leggings quite a bit.
07:17 They have this like thick elastic stuff on the inside
07:19 and it can really just grip onto those little eyelets
07:22 and make them fray like nothing else.
07:23 So I never do a leg day in anything delicate like this.
07:26 I try to avoid leg day in my Lululemon Lines too
07:29 just because those are prone to pilling,
07:31 but I find it's mostly okay.
07:32 I try to do leg day in like slick performance type fabrics,
07:35 kind of like Gymshark Energy Seamless Fabric,
07:38 but like without the eyelets.
07:39 My next tip is how to make your leggings
07:42 more flattering on your booty.
07:43 If you're like me and you don't have
07:45 like a Tammy Hambro booty,
07:46 honestly, I'm just really tall.
07:48 It's hard for me to get a big butt.
07:49 These are excuses really, but it's the truth.
07:52 So I need a little help in the booty region if possible.
07:55 So you know how you see people like Taylor Cady,
07:58 I believe is her name,
07:59 and she just always has her leggings
08:01 look so good on her butt,
08:02 but they're kind of like going up her butt
08:04 and giving her a slight wedgie.
08:05 Well, friends, that's exactly what you do.
08:07 You take the leggings
08:09 and you literally pull them up your butt.
08:11 There you go.
08:12 Sometimes with seamless leggings,
08:13 you can get that unibutt look.
08:15 And unless you have a really big butt,
08:16 it's just like not the most flattering.
08:18 You basically have to be wearing a thong to do this trick.
08:20 You take the leggings
08:21 and you kind of pull them up your booty a little bit.
08:23 There you go.
08:24 Much more flattering, a little booty separation,
08:27 a little more booty definition.
08:29 Really cute.
08:29 Another booty flattering tip
08:31 is to make sure the waistband is going above your hips.
08:34 Think about it.
08:35 If you're trying to make your butt look as big as possible
08:37 and you have like a waistband seam
08:39 right in the middle of your butt,
08:40 basically you're cutting off like the line of your butt
08:42 and you're making it split into two,
08:44 which just makes it look overall smaller.
08:46 If you have a seam that goes above your butt,
08:48 you're allowing your butt to look as big as possible,
08:49 uninterrupted, and it should look much more full.
08:52 There's only so much you can do with certain leggings.
08:54 Like some leggings won't even be flattering in this way.
08:57 I personally find that the Balance Athletica leggings,
08:59 the ones that have like kind of the curved booty seams,
09:01 those are just super, super flattering on the booty.
09:03 And they just kind of let your booty
09:05 have all the room to look its fullest.
09:07 And lastly, let's go into some tips
09:09 on how I take care of my leggings
09:11 in the washer and the dryer.
09:13 Spoiler alert, I don't dry my leggings.
09:15 How I wash my leggings.
09:16 First of all, whenever I wash any of my leggings
09:19 or activewear in general, that's tops,
09:20 sports bras, anything, I always turn everything inside out.
09:24 That way, if your washing machine is a little rough
09:26 and you might have some risk of like snags and pilling,
09:29 it's only gonna affect the inside of your activewear
09:31 and not the outside.
09:32 So you actually never even see it.
09:34 This also will prevent delicate logos,
09:36 like Gymshark logos that are just kind of screen printed on.
09:39 It'll prevent those little vinyls
09:40 from peeling off over time.
09:41 For super delicate leggings, like my Lululemines
09:44 and anything with little eyelets,
09:45 I always put them in a lingerie bag.
09:47 That just prevents the risk even more
09:48 of anything catching on them and damaging them further.
09:51 And like I mentioned, never dry your leggings.
09:54 Please don't do this.
09:55 It's not meant to be dried.
09:56 A lot of activewear says hand wash only.
09:58 So if you're gonna wash it,
09:59 please just do me this favor.
10:01 Me personally, you're really affecting me with this.
10:03 Do not dry your leggings.
10:04 Your leggings or any activewear, honestly,
10:05 especially not sports bras, don't do it.
10:08 The heat from the dryer can actually damage
10:10 the elastane in the legging fibers.
10:12 And this is what makes your leggings stretchy.
10:14 So basically, you're gonna make your leggings less stretchy,
10:16 damage the fibers, they're gonna lose some of their shape,
10:19 and they're just not gonna be the same as they were.
10:21 And then you'll be sad because you spent money on them,
10:23 and then they're ruined.
10:25 So this isn't for leggings, but for sports bras,
10:27 I always take out the removable cup pads
10:29 from the bras before I wash them.
10:30 If you don't take out the pads,
10:32 they can kind of get tangled up in the bra,
10:34 and they just are really hard to get out.
10:36 Sometimes they can get deformed.
10:37 It's not good.
10:38 So just take out the cup pads,
10:40 put them in a little lingerie bag,
10:41 and then put them back after they're all dry.
10:43 Also, if you're washing leggings
10:45 with anything with a zipper,
10:46 make sure you zip that zipper up all the way
10:48 before you wash anything,
10:49 because that zipper is gonna be super easy
10:52 to snag on anything.
10:53 So it also might be a good idea
10:54 to put whatever is in the zipper
10:56 in one of those lingerie-style bags,
10:58 just so it can't catch on anything.
10:59 Same with bras with bra hooks.
11:01 You also wanna put those in their own bag
11:03 so that they have no chance of catching on things.
11:05 So I don't use any special kinds of laundry detergents
11:08 or fabric softeners,
11:09 but I would say I wouldn't recommend using Tide Pods,
11:12 because basically all my friends in college,
11:14 except for me, used Tide Pods to wash their clothes,
11:17 and it often got that bright blue residue on your clothes,
11:21 so you just have to wash them again.
11:22 And it doesn't tend to stain the clothes,
11:24 but I feel like it could,
11:26 and I just wouldn't risk it.
11:27 So don't use Tide Pods,
11:28 because they can just stain things.
11:29 I also have heard that fabric softener
11:31 is not good for active wear,
11:32 because it kind of coats all the fibers,
11:34 and it can make things less stretchy.
11:36 And I don't know.
11:37 I've just heard it's not good.
11:38 So honestly, just one less thing to purchase.
11:40 Also, don't wash any of your active wear
11:42 with any towels or sweatshirts or anything really fuzzy,
11:45 because that fuzz is just gonna stick onto everything.
11:47 It might create more pilling and stuff.
11:49 Also, I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do,
11:52 but I always wash all of my active wear on cold,
11:54 because it prevents the colors from bleeding, I think,
11:57 and also if the heat from the dryer
11:59 is gonna damage the fibers,
12:00 I feel like the heat from the wash could as well.
12:02 So I always just wash it on cold.
12:04 And this is my favorite tip.
12:05 To get rid of pilling, I use one of these bad boys.
12:09 So if all of your washing tips have failed you,
12:11 and you have some pills in your leggings,
12:13 you can super easily just get them off
12:15 with a little eyebrow razor.
12:16 This has literally saved so many of my old pairs
12:19 of Lululemon leggings, because let's be honest,
12:21 Lululemon leggings are expensive, and they pill.
12:23 Like, what am I paying for if I'm paying for pills?
12:25 Anyway, if you have some pills on your leggings,
12:27 this is a perfect way.
12:28 You just take the little razor,
12:30 and you very, very gently make sure
12:32 that the leggings are spread out,
12:33 and just gently kind of scrape along,
12:36 and it very easily gets all the pills right off.
12:38 All right, I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
12:40 I hope it was really informative for you.
12:43 But yeah, thank you guys so much for watching this video.
