The Day of the Virgen de los Desamparados is a huge festival in Valencia. She is the most important religious figure of the city. Once a year the statue of the Virgen de los Desamparados leaves the Basilica, she will receive her blessings at the Cathedral before getting carried around the old town during the evening procession.
