00:17 Over the past 50 years, many characters have come and gone, and there are always some we can't help
00:27 but love. Among those characters is Mackenzie Browning, or like everyone calls her, Mack.
00:32 Mack was first introduced in The Young and the Restless in 1999, and throughout this character's
00:37 span, she has been portrayed by many actors, starring Ashley Basham, Rachel Kimsey, Clementine
00:43 Ford, and the most recent is Kelly Krueger, who made a comeback with the character in 2018
00:48 for the 45th anniversary of the show. Mackenzie was always a really important character for Kelly,
00:54 so when the show invited her to return as Mack, she was more than happy to. Mackenzie has always
00:59 had a hard and challenging story from the start. Mackenzie's story started when she ran away from
01:04 her mother, Amanda Browning, and abusive stepfather, Ralph Honeycutt, at a very young age.
01:09 That's when she came to Genoa City Homeless Shelter where made her first friend, Catherine
01:14 Chancellor. Through that friendship, she found out that Catherine was actually her grandma from her
01:18 biological dad, Brock Reynolds Side. Mack then moved in with Catherine but faced problems with
01:23 Jill Abbott who wasn't quite a fan of hers or her moving in. But her love life on the other hand,
01:28 was just starting with Jill's son, Billy Abbott. They were even made prom king and queen, and that's
01:34 when their relationship turned into a romance. Jill didn't like it at all, so she warned Mack
01:38 to stay away from her son. But that didn't stop them from falling head over heels for each other.
01:43 They kept their love on the down low and were always sneaking around, but things got complicated
01:48 after her mom showed up and caused a stir trying to get back her custody when Catherine was already
01:53 named as Mack's guardian. Turns out, both Mack and Amanda have suffered the same predatory abuse
01:58 from Ralph. And just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, Ralph arrived in town. Amanda let
02:03 him into the Chancellor mansion to steal jewelry, and that is when he comes across Mack. He tries to
02:08 harm Mack but Billy steps in and saves his girl, knocking him out. But when the two ran away from
02:13 him, Ralph found them and attacked Billy. Thankfully, Larry rescued Mack before he could
02:18 take advantage of her. After the whole nightmare, Mack and Billy were closer than ever. They
02:23 then went to the same college, moved in together, and even got engaged. But then, the truth comes
02:28 crashing down, they're actually cousins. Yep, Billy's mom and Kay are related. So, they sadly
02:34 had to call off the engagement. Talk about a major bummer. But love finds Mack again, this time in
02:40 the form of JT Hellstrom. They fall head over heels, move in together, and he becomes her first
02:45 intimate partner. Mack becomes pregnant but sadly suffers a heartbreaking miscarriage. JT finds out
02:51 later and is pretty upset that he wasn't told about the pregnancy. Things got messy when JT
02:56 had a fling with Victoria and broke things off with Mack. Feeling the need for a fresh start,
03:00 Mack says goodbye to Genoa City in 2006 then heads to New Orleans to be with her biological dad,
03:06 Brock. At the time, Rachel Kimsey was playing Mack's role and she had quite a fun time on the
03:11 show, even though it only lasted a year. She even said that it was the best job for her. In 2009,
03:17 Mackenzie Browning made a return to Genoa City and it was with a twist. Turns out, Jill Abbott
03:23 isn't Catherine Chancellor's daughter after all. That means Mack and Billy Abbott could finally let
03:28 their love shine without any family drama. Well, Billy was married to Chloe at the time,
03:32 but that didn't stop him from chasing after Mack. You gotta admire his persistence, right?
03:37 But hold up, Mack wasn't exactly waiting around either. She had a new man in her life, Raul
03:43 Gutierrez. However, the universe had other plans and Mack and Billy found themselves back in each
03:49 other's arms. It's like destiny was saying, "You two are meant to be." I mean, who can resist a
03:54 love that just won't quit? But that didn't last long either. Fast forward a bit and Mack and Billy
04:00 hit a rough patch, breaking up in a not-so-fun way. But fear not, because love has a funny way
04:05 of circling back around. Mack and JT, her ex, gave their relationship another shot. They made it
04:11 official, tied the knot, and even had a son named Dylan. Life was looking up for our girl! In 2010,
04:18 Mack and JT decided to pack their bags and head to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. you know,
04:23 for a change of scenery. But hey, Mack couldn't stay away from Genoa City for too long. She made
04:29 a brief return in 2017 just to let everyone know that she and JT were divorced. And likewise, JT
04:35 ended up dating Victoria Newman again, out of all people. And in 2018, when JT was presumed dead,
04:41 Mack and Victoria shared a special moment at his memorial service. They bonded over being victims
04:46 of JT's abusive behavior. It was a powerful moment, bringing these two strong women together
04:52 and giving Mack the closure she deserved. That was the last time we saw her on YNR.
04:56 Throughout her time, Mack had her fair share of being mistreated and pushed around,
05:00 but she never let it break her spirit. And that was a fitting end to Mack's journey on the show.
