01:03 >> 22 years ago, hatred and terror did not win.
01:07 It did not destroy America.
01:10 Freedom and democracy in the very pillars of this great nation continue to endure.
01:15 And as the years go by, it may feel that the world is moving on or
01:21 even forgetting what happened here on September 11th, 2001.
01:28 But please know this, the men and
01:32 women of the Department of Defense will always remember.
01:38 >> Exalted, compassionate God, grant infinite rest in your sheltering presence.
01:44 Among the holy and the pure, to the souls of all of our beloved,
01:50 we remember this day, who have gone to their eternal home.
01:54 May their souls thus be bound up in the bond of life.
01:59 May they always rest in peace, and let us say, amen.
02:04 >> Actually, it never changes.
02:07 It's remained the same 21 years ago.
02:10 I lost my dad here.
02:11 Never get easy.
02:14 It's the same thing all over again.
02:16 It hurts.
02:19 >> I wish it didn't have to be this way, but
02:21 it still feels a little bit haunting from that day.
02:27 But I'm trying to pass by, trying to get through it and move on.
02:33 But this ceremony, just in this day, just keeps bringing it back.
02:37 >> I needed to be here.
02:40 It's been a long time since I was here.
02:42 I haven't stepped foot on this grounds since October of 2001.
