Year 2021 marks 20 years of the 9/11 attack. 20 years later, the remains of two people who died in the September 11 terrorist attack at the World Trade Center were positively identified recently. The 9/11 attacks saw a series of airline hijackings and suicide attacks. The attacks were committed in 2001 by 19 militants associated with al-Qaida against targets in the United States. It was the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in US history. 2,977 people lost their lives, most of them in New York. The US and its NATO allies raided Afghanistan in October 2001 to overthrow the Taliban. Billions were spent in the past two decades. Recently, the Taliban claimed that Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11 terror attacks on the United States, was not involved in the attacks. The 20-year conflict left about 69,000 Afghan security forces and at least 51,000 Afghan civilians dead, according to research by Brown University. Watch the video to know more.1
