00:20 The letters were made public following his sentencing of 30 years to life in prison for
00:25 raping two women in 2003.
00:27 In his letter obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Kutcher referred to his co-star as a role

00:37 Kunis wrote in her letter that Masterson had been an exceptional older brother figure to
00:42 her.
00:43 She also credited his avoidance of drugs, which inspired her to stay away from substances.

01:02 Kunis continued, "The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial
01:06 system or the validity of the jury's ruling."
01:09 "They were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the
01:14 victims or re-traumatize them in any way.
01:16 We would never want to do that."
01:18 The couple concluded their message to viewers, saying, "Our hearts go out to every single
01:22 person who's ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse, or rape."
