00:14 I'm Ruth Carr and we're at Mowbray House still in turn for National Racehorse Week.
00:21 Just tell me a little bit about what people can expect when they come to your stables.
00:25 We're letting people see how racehorses are trained slightly differently, so we're getting to enjoy them on a wonderful sunny day out in their paddocks,
00:33 having their day off like they would normally on a Sunday and giving people a taste of what we do here.
00:39 Tell us a little bit about, because we're stood on a trailer here now, what can people expect when they come?
00:45 Where do they see the horses? Can they interact with them? Just tell us a little bit about the trip when they're here.
00:50 Our guests are invited for our slots and we go on the tractor and trailers so that we can safely view the horses,
00:58 because if we're in amongst them in the fields we'd be getting knocked over probably.
01:04 So the horses are out enjoying themselves in gangs and our visitors get a chance to see that.
01:10 Is this something that you've done before?
01:12 Yes, we've done this a few times for National Racehorse Week and for our own open days and I think it's a great way to showcase what we do.
01:23 And remember the public, what do they get out of it, seeing horses up nice and close?
01:28 Sometimes you might not have ever seen a racehorse up so close.
01:31 Yes, it's a chance to see them doing something different rather than just seeing them over a stable door,
01:40 getting to interact in a herd like a horse would do in the natural world.
01:45 Who do we have here then?
01:47 We've got Rocking Rosa and Daytona Lady.
01:50 And how old are these?
01:51 These are both three year olds. Rocking Rosa is the chest up one, she's won a race for us at Newcastle.
01:57 And Daytona, she's a new recruit to the yard, she's not raced for us yet, she'll have an all-weather campaign this winter.
02:04 And today is just a relaxing day, Sunday?
02:07 Sunday is a day just of chilling for the horses, so basically eating and enjoying themselves out in the fresh air.
