Danny Masterson Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

00:00 Danny Masterson handed a 30 year prison sentence in the wake of his convictions on two counts of forcible rape.

00:08 That's the actor's wife Bijou Phillips leaving court Thursday.

00:11 ET was inside the hearing where she and Danny's mother Carol both appeared upset,

00:16 but showed no real emotion after the ruling.

00:18 I'm extremely proud of the named victims in this case for enduring the long time that it took to get to justice today.

00:28 And though we have great respect for the jury and for our system of justice,

00:33 sometimes they get it wrong. And that's what happened here.

00:36 Danny's brother Christopher also in the Los Angeles courtroom.

00:45 The actress showing support for the victims who were in tears and hugging as they exited with Leah,

00:51 whose docuseries alleges Danny used the Church of Scientology to cover up his crimes.

00:56 I've gotten to know the victims in this case quite well over the years.

01:02 And I can tell you they're strong.

01:08 They were committed to making sure that justice gets served.

01:14 And today they got it.

01:16 The That '70s Show star has been in custody since being found guilty in May,

01:20 with the court citing the violent nature of the crimes and fear that he was a flight risk.

01:26 Mr. Masterson did not commit the crimes for which he has been convicted.

01:30 And we and the appellate lawyers, who are the best and the brightest in the country,

01:35 are confident that these convictions will be even rejected. Thank you.
