00:00 Well, we learned at least two things last week about the PAC-12 conference.
00:06 First of all, we learned that it's going to be a pretty tough conference this year.
00:11 When somebody like Colorado, who we expected to be near the bottom of the league, rises
00:16 up and goes on the road to beat a team that played in last year's national championship
00:21 game, well, now they've got our attention.
00:25 Throughout the conference, teams performed pretty well, undefeated on the first full
00:29 week of the season.
00:30 They enter play this weekend, 13-0 overall, USC is 2-0.
00:36 The other thing we learned is that there's going to be a lot of scoring in the PAC-12
00:39 this year.
00:40 It's going to have very little to do with the aptitude of the team's defenses.
00:44 It's going to be because there are great quarterbacks and terrific offenses throughout the league.
00:50 Oregon Cal, which has struggled offensively for years, put up 58 points.
00:55 Now, it was against North Texas, and North Texas is not a PAC-12 caliber team.
01:00 But just four years ago, Cal struggled to beat North Texas, put up 23 points against
01:06 them.
01:07 Now they get 58.
01:08 And we saw across the league, in a case of about eight of the teams or so, big points.
01:13 Oregon scored 81 for crying out loud.
01:16 So it's going to be a fun league, and it's going to be a fun weekend as we go to week
01:19 two.
01:20 Cal and Auburn, the conference opens with Stanford visiting USC.
01:25 Lots of good games.
01:26 It'll be a lot of fun, and we'll try to make as smart of picks as we can.
01:30 We had a tough weekend week one.
01:32 We'll try to do better this time.
