00:21 "Somehow, the luggage managed to survive. Some documents, children, clothes. It was
00:26 like a refugee camp."
00:30 The flooding caused severe damage to roads and infrastructure. More than 1,000 people
00:36 were stranded but traffic has now been restored.
00:39 Some say they're lucky to be alive.
00:48 "If we had managed, we would have all been dead. We were sitting in our bags, naked.
00:56 Now we're trying to save ourselves. We have everything inside us, documents, jobs. There's
01:01 no one. No one, sir."
01:03 Bulgaria's Prime Minister says flood victims should receive financial aid within two months.
01:08 "The amount from 1,512 levs to this amount, which is given for damaged houses, rooms,
01:17 where people live, and there's another amount, which is up to 2,500 levs, connected to damaged
01:24 devices, electrical devices, where normal life should be restored."
01:30 The Bulgarian Red Cross is now providing canned food and water packages to the victims.
01:35 "The victims were accommodated in private hotels, according to our information. And
01:40 in small residential areas, where they were hosted, the local authorities managed to secure
01:47 logistics."
01:48 "We have a team of professionals from all over the country who are ready to come to
01:52 the field and work in such a situation."
01:55 Damages are yet to be assessed after the disaster, but many predict costs will reach the tens
