00:00 I'm Michael Crossland, Business Reporter with the Yorkshire Post and we have news today from Wilker
00:05 which has announced that five of its stores in Yorkshire will be amongst the 52 closures
00:10 that are set to go ahead next week. The firms Morley and Wakefield stores in West Yorkshire
00:17 are both marked to close on Tuesday the 12th of September and then on Thursday the 14th of
00:23 September Wilker stores in Dewsbury and Huddersfield as well as its store in Courtham Wood
00:29 which is near Barnsley will also close. It's been reported that the 52 closures nationally will lead
00:36 to around 1,000 redundancies. Before entering administration Wilker had 400 stores and around
00:43 12,500 staff members. The news comes after Wilker's administrator Price Waterhouse Cooper
00:51 announced yesterday that a deal had been struck with rival retailer B&M for the company to purchase
00:57 52 other Wilker stores. The administrator has said that it is still in talks to save parts
01:05 of the business. I'm Michael Crossland reporting for the Yorkshire Post.
