00:00 Thanks to TV shows like the Great British Sewing Bee, social media and people talking
00:06 about pre-loved fashion, knitting, sewing and crafting is back in vogue. But sadly this
00:13 place in Wakefield that's been going for 40 years and the company itself has been going
00:17 for 70 years has closed down. Habinett, yes the haberdashery shop, where haberdashery
00:23 means like basically lots of small little things but they sell everything from, well
00:27 they did, everything from lace to knitting gear to buttons and do you know what, you
00:34 just personally I think you don't get that online, you don't know, you can't feel the
00:38 fabric and the textures and whatnot. So owners have said that it's due to a lack of football
00:46 in town and that it's hard to sustain a business with shopping centres being built on the outskirts
00:51 and the closure of Wakefield market which many people have fond memories of.
