00:26 These accounts and images are being used to scam people through Love Scam.
00:32 Let's take a look at my exclusive report.
00:35 In a raid in the Cyberscam Hub in Pasay in August,
00:41 3,000 cellphones were hacked by the authorities.
00:46 These cellphones were checked one by one
00:50 and this is where a modus was discovered.
00:53 Many of these are profiles of famous artists and social media influencers in the country
01:00 who are being used by syndicates behind the Scam Hub
01:04 to victimize foreigners in different countries.
01:07 Some of them are even influencers, endorsers.
01:10 They just change their names.
01:12 In a digital forensic examination by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission
01:17 and the Inter-Agency Task Force,
01:19 it was found that the syndicate was using fake social media accounts
01:23 to hack the social media accounts of artists and influencers.
01:27 And because there's no doubt that the people in the profile photos are good,
01:31 the syndicate can easily victimize them, especially in Love Scam.
01:36 They have folders of the activities of the artists or influencers.
01:41 If you tell them what you're doing,
01:43 they'll show that the artist is working out even though he's not.
01:47 If you tell them what you're doing for breakfast or lunch,
01:51 they'll have a folder of the food you're eating.
01:54 So they'll choose that and then, until the person falls in love.
01:59 According to PAOK, Love Scam is a kind of modus
02:02 where the syndicate can find and chat using the fake profile.
02:06 They'll use it to lure and get trust.
02:09 If the victim falls in love,
02:10 this is where he'll get money or the syndicate will allocate
02:13 to enter an investment scheme and then...
02:17 If you fall in love, you'll lose your talk the next day.
02:20 PAOK is holding the evidence that money is entering the syndicate
02:25 which is now subject to their deeper investigation.

03:22 in relation to Cyber Crime Prevention Act.
