00:00 They've sat in court for hours listening to private conversations played out loud.
00:07 The 58-year-old woman admits to two counts of assaulting a child who is not the missing
00:11 boy. In one recording of an argument, that child cries and says, "She kicked me," and
00:17 later, "You're a bad mother." Their house and car were bugged during the investigation
00:22 into William Tyrrell's disappearance. The woman was recorded making admissions about
00:27 the kick and telling others about the strain of the Tyrrell investigation. "They're investigating
00:33 me. I found out and I lost it. They're trying to trip me up on stuff." The woman said former
00:38 lead Tyrrell detective Gary Jubelin had cleared the couple. "It's all politics. I've been
00:44 caught right in the middle of it." The former foster mother was later captured on the recordings
00:48 apologising to the child she kicked. She said she lost control but was under a huge amount
00:53 of pressure and was at the end of her ability to cope. She described the child's behaviour
00:58 as "poking the bear." She denies two counts of stalking or intimidating the child. Her
01:03 56-year-old husband denies one count of that and another of assault. On the same day as
01:09 the kick, he was recorded giving the child a time-out during an argument. "Sit down before
01:14 I smack you." Under cross-examination, the detective in charge of the intimidation case
01:20 denied it was part of a campaign to pressure the woman into giving information about William's
01:25 location which she denies having. Tomorrow the court will hear evidence from the child.
