00:29 Prime Minister Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim said today that RM8.2 billion will come from Putrajaya
00:35 via the NIMP Industrial Development Fund and the NIMP Strategic Co-Investment Fund,
00:42 though the investment would be predominantly from the private sector,
00:45 mobilised from private equity, capital and financial markets.
00:50 Speaking at the launch of the Industrial Master Plan,
00:52 he said the NIMP 2030 has four missions,
00:56 to advance economic complexity, embrace technology and digital transformation,
01:01 push for net zero emissions and safeguard economic security and inclusivity.
01:06 The plan is to increase the manufacturing sector's value added by 6.5% to RM587.5 billion by 2030,
01:15 with employment growth in the sector projected at 2.3% from 2023
01:21 and median salary growth at 9.6% to reach RM4,510 from RM1,976 currently.

03:46 Sersel has suspended the functions of its chief executive officer,
03:49 Datuk Wirat Justin Lim Huatat, with effect from August 30, 2023.
03:55 In a boss filing today, the company said he had shown insubordination
03:59 and failed to act as a responsible CEO.
04:02 It said Lim had not responded to any of the official requests made by the board
04:07 since July 20 this year, asking him to return to the office to report to the board
04:12 and, pending his return, to provide a written response on the MACC's inquiry on him
04:17 and the sort of work he has been performing as CEO while he is abroad.
04:22 The Johor-based chemical manufacturer said it is seeking a basis to warrant Lim as CEO
04:28 to be abroad and away from office from February 2023

04:51 On the first day of Malaysia Airlines' transition to self-catering for in-flight meals
04:56 following the axing of its contract with Brahims Holdings,
04:59 some reports of flight delays from disgruntled passengers have surfaced.
05:03 In response to the complaints, Malaysia Airlines told The Edge
05:07 that it had encountered various challenges during the transition,
05:11 which were made worse by rainy weather conditions and changes to aircraft parking bays at KLIA.
05:17 In a statement, the carrier apologised and said it regrets the challenges,
05:22 which impacted several flights during the first half of the day.
05:25 There were also coordination issues that it is addressing with its partners.
05:30 As of noon today, close to 80% of its flights have taken off on schedule.
05:35 Earlier this week, Malaysia Aviation Group, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines,
05:40 announced it was ending the partnership with Brahims after a thorough and prolonged negotiation period.
05:46 The airline said it would resort to self-catering from September 1 for selected routes.
