“Being delusional makes you rich – I’ve earned £53k in eight months by being delulu”

A woman insists "being delusional makes you rich" – and has bought her dream car and earned £53k in eight months by being "delulu".

Romanee Virgara, 25, always knew she had "a lot to give the world" and decided she wanted to inspire and empower people on social media in August 2022.

She “dreamt big” and had her heart set on being a business owner and public figure and was so “delusional” she quit her job as a logistics manager in February 2023.

Romanee spent her life savings - £6,117 – on business training and felt certain it would help her make £53k.

She continued to raise her social profile and decided to test drive her dream car – a Ford Ranger Wildtrak – with just £500 in the bank but was able to go back and put down a deposit for it six months later after building up her social presence.

Romanee has now made £53k in eight months as a business and social coach and has her next goal set on becoming a seven-figure business owner.

Romanee, from Adelaide, Australia, said: “Delulu is being delusional and dreaming big - to the point where people tell you ‘you need to be realistic’.

“I knew I was going to be a business owner and going to be a public figure.

“That was my delusion.

“Being delulu makes you rich.”

Romanee hit “rock bottom” in August 2022, following the break-up of her seven-year relationship, and decided to do something about her big dreams.

She said: “I always knew I had a lot to give the world.

“I have a passion for making people feel inspired.

“I wanted to inspire other women in particular to not have to settle and go for what they want.”

Romanee started posting on social media and treated it as her 9 to 5 job despite still working in her full-time position.

She said: “I showed up as if I was talking to thousands of people.”

By January 2023 she was building her presence on social media – showing people how to make money through side hustles and booking in one-to-one sessions.

She had also decided to spend her life savings on business training.

Romanee said: “I spent all my savings on a business coach.

“I knew it would help me make £53k.

“But it was scary at the time.”

By February 2023 Romanee had made £20,000 in six weeks by providing coaching and quit her job.

She said: “That was my entire wage in a full year.”

Romanee then set her goals on being a six-figure business owner and created the delusion that she was already one – to make it happen.

She said: “I was showing up as if I was that six-figure business owner.

“I was doing things as if I was already that person.

“I had £500, and I test drove my dream car.

“I thought – ‘if I was a six-figure business owner what would I do?’

“Six months later I put down a deposit on the car.”

Romanee reached £53k ($100,000 AUD) in July 2023 and made £7,000 in one week.

She said: “I used to earn £305 in one week.

“The difference is huge.”

Romanee’s lifestyle has seen a huge transformation, but she has also seen a big one in herself.

She said: “I wasn’t sure of myself.

“Now I’m proud of myself and trusting.

“It’s the most valuable thing.”

She said her friends and family questioned her choices when she quit her job – asking if she had a back-up plan and would send her job ads but she has proved them wrong.

Romanee said: “I want to show women and people we have to allow ourselves to dream big. It can feel silly.

“Anything is possible – you’ve just got to ask for it.

“You need to not only believe it, but you need to be willing to do what you can.

“Thinking huge and putting myself in conversations and rooms lead to opportunity.

“Step outside your comfort zone.

“Allow yourself to dream and get comfortable in owning it.”

Romanee's delulu tips -

- Use the budgeting method - think of a budget of money coming into you. Set a budget for how you are going to spend that money eg. putting a deposit on your dream car. Do this once a week to see what it would be like to have this money. Let go of where you expect the money to come from.

- Let go the how and sit their and be delusional.

- Think of your dream car and go and test drive it.

- If you want to be an influencer, create content like you have a million followers.

- Speak it into existence.

- Dream big to the point of people telling you to be realistic.
