Patients can now collect two months’ worth of some medications for the price of a single prescription as the federal government's prescription changes take effect. The government says the changes will halve the price of medicine for millions of people helping them save up to 180 dollars a year. 00:00 When a two-for-one policy is announced, it sounds great at face value, until you realise
00:07 that it's actually the independent pharmacist behind the counter who's covering the cost
00:14 of that second box. So whilst this policy may have good intentions, and I do not doubt
00:21 that it has good intentions, the way in which it has been rushed to roll out has created
00:26 unintended consequences, and that's exactly why we need to bring forward the negotiation
00:31 of the next agreement, and that I'm happily to say we've agreed we'll start on the 1st
