00:10 You guys ready?
00:10 >> Yeah, we're excited about this opportunity.
00:14 It's a very big game, start of the season, first game of the season,
00:19 first game in the sweat, arrival.
00:22 So yeah, it's very exciting times right now.
00:26 >> So talk about this, Andrew, I know his leadership, is his body ready?
00:32 Is he ready to focus on leading his team throughout the sweat?
00:36 >> He's ready to go, he's definitely ready to lead the team throughout the sweat.
00:41 He's been our leader since he stepped foot on campus.
00:43 And we're excited about this opportunity and
00:47 excited about watching him get ready to do his thing.
00:52 >> What are some of the challenges that Prairie View may pose for
00:57 you guys going into this game?
00:59 >> Well, offensively for them, they're an extremely well coached team.
01:06 They run the ball extremely well.
01:08 And when you can run the ball like Prairie View runs the ball,
01:12 you can keep the other team's offense off the field.
01:15 And so we've gotta find a way to stop the run and get those guys off the field,
01:21 get them to turn the ball over in some way or fashion and
01:26 give ourselves a couple more opportunities.
01:28 >> Personally, coach, how do you feel?
01:32 Because this is one of the better teams that you've had, right?
01:36 And you guys were just a few players away from winning the SWAC West last year.
01:45 How do you feel going into this season?
01:46 You have to be very optimistic.
01:48 >> Yeah, we don't talk about last year.
01:50 What we try and do is just improve upon each season.
01:54 And so if we can go into this season and
01:56 improve upon what we did in previous seasons,
02:00 we feel like we'll end the season on a high note.
02:04 Our goal is to win the West, win the SWAC, and it has to start with beating PV.
02:09 >> Yeah, a lot of people had you guys ranked middle of the pack.
02:16 I'm projecting you guys can possibly take the division and
02:20 be a participant in the championship game.
02:23 How do you feel about that?
02:25 >> Well, I think our league is very balanced, especially on the West side.
02:29 So on any given Saturday, any team can be beaten.
02:33 I think what you may find is at the end, when the dust out settles,
02:36 that you're gonna find multiple teams with opportunities to win the West.
02:41 And so we just feel like we need to go out and
02:44 win enough games to put ourselves ahead of everyone else.
02:48 >> I know you guys lost a transfer, the young man went over to your beach,
02:52 on the back end from the defensive backfield.
02:55 Have you guys been able to replace this?
02:57 >> We're gonna find out real soon.
03:00 We've got some guys coming in, but they're not tested, they've been untested.
03:06 But we feel like we have the talent at each and every position.
03:12 It's just a matter of guys going out and making plays.
03:15 >> Okay, what's your prediction for your team this season?
03:19 >> I don't like to get into predictions, but our goal is to win this way.
