Higher temperatures are creating the conditions for dengue fever-carrying mosquitos to breed, contributing to the highest number of cases of the illness since 2015, says National Taiwan University public health professor and epidemiologist Chan Chang-chuan. But he adds the death rate is still within the normal limit.
