00:00 I think Birmingham has such an amazing nightlife that it's really worth exploring outside of
00:06 Selly Oak and going into town and Tigbuff and just exploring those areas a bit more.
00:10 So that would be my biggest advice to someone coming to Birmingham for freshers.
00:14 I don't know Birmingham that well because I'm from Leicester but just generally going
00:18 to university, just have a good time I guess. I don't know, I had a great time at university
00:24 and met a lot of new people. Just be open to the experience I guess and keep up with
00:29 your readings.
00:34 Just enjoy yourself, say yes to things, embrace the opportunity to meet new people and have
00:39 a great time and just be up for the laugh. I remember Life Freshers Week and it was bonkers
00:44 so you'll have a great time. Just embrace the opportunity and get to know the new people
00:50 that you've got around, that's what I'd say.
00:52 Okay so if you're moving to Birmingham I'd say probably take a walk around the canals,
00:57 it's a brinny place. The canals can take you as far as you want all the way to Birmingham
01:02 Uni, back to the city centre and out the other side. Plenty of places in the city centre
01:07 to drink around the canals with great views, rooftop bars, loads of things to explore and
01:13 of course loads of shopping as well around the city centre.
01:17 I think just get out and about as much as you can. There's so many bars and restaurants
01:21 so they all do deals, mid-week deals. Find out where the bargains are and it's not an
01:27 expensive place to live if you know where to look and just enjoy the beautiful city,
01:32 all it has to offer.
01:33 No exactly, perfect, they'll sell everything there.
01:38 Well I mean there are some good pubs and nightclubs in Birmingham and bars, it's a nice city,
01:43 it's good at night, you know, restaurants, everything here. You'll be able to find something,
01:48 it's relatively safe, just keep your eye on Izzy Wood in any city. So I think I'm finding
01:55 it a pub.
01:56 I don't know, Birmingham.
01:57 What do you do when you come back here?
02:01 Shopping, food.
02:02 Yeah?
02:03 Oh yeah there's a new sandbox VR thing, that's good, that's great, we went there yesterday,
02:11 that was so fun. And yeah there's loads of stuff to do actually, there's loads of activities,
02:17 yeah, I feel like golf, everything, everything, go crazy, everything. I don't even know, Birmingham's
02:26 crazy, it's a great place, just don't go out, I don't know.
02:32 I'd probably say try everything because it is one of the biggest cities in the UK and
02:38 obviously if you're coming here for like the first time then you might as well just try
02:44 everything because it's got a lot here, you've got sea life centres, you've got coffin works,
02:51 pen museums, you've got loads of different things going on all the time and it's like
02:55 such a big centre of culture, just like pretty much on your doorstep wherever you go.
