France exits World Cup; 5 teams advance to round 2

France's World Cup plans took a hit as Latvia upset them 88-86, eliminating France from advancing past the group stage. Latvia's win secured their and Canada's spots in the second round, while France, aiming for gold, now faces a finish no better than 17th place. Nicolas Batum expressed disappointment, while Latvia's comeback victory was led by Arturs Zagars' 22 points.
