Antetokounmpo Concerns Over The Bucks' Championship Outlook

00:10 Did they win an NBA championship?
00:13 Yes.
00:14 Did they lose in a conference finals?
00:17 Yes.
00:18 But they also have lost twice in a conference semifinals,
00:21 and they lost in the first round.
00:22 And if I'm not mistaken, Joe, since he was the head coach,
00:26 I think the Milwaukee Bucks had the best record in the NBA.
00:29 So for them to get only one championship and
00:32 only one NBA finals appearance, and if you think about it, Joe,
00:37 going backwards maybe in regards to winning a championship in 21,
00:42 losing in the conference semifinals in 22, lost in the first round of 2023.
00:48 And you can sit there and say, well, they lost a really good team in the Miami Heat.
00:53 I get it, but they got bludgeoned.
00:56 I mean, it was bad.
00:57 And so I think Giannis is sitting here saying to himself,
01:01 I am starting to get up here in age.
01:03 I have one ring.
01:04 I've seen what Steph has done.
01:06 I've seen what LeBron has done.
01:07 I got KD, all these other guys, and I'm looking around the NBA,
01:13 and I'm looking around the Eastern Conference, and I'm saying, man,
01:18 look what Boston has with Tatum and Jalen Brown, and now bringing in Porzingis.
01:23 Look at that young core that they have in Cleveland.
01:28 You look at teams that could be on the come up, or Orlando, or Detroit, and Indiana.
01:35 You look at a team like the Heat with their culture being so great for so long.
01:40 You look at a team like the Knicks that maybe for the first time in James Dolan's
01:45 ownership time, he stayed out of it, and he's allowed his people to run it, and
01:49 they're building something.
01:51 And Giannis is looking around and looking at his team and saying,
01:55 how much longer do I have to carry all these guys?
01:58 And I think that's the thing.
01:59 So we'll go through it piece by piece, but Giannis is looking at particularly the coach
02:06 and three or four, five veteran guys and saying, I know you are committed here
02:14 for multiple years, but if I don't see what I see out of you and out of the coaches
02:21 because I'm going to bring it every night, you know he does.
02:24 If I don't feel like you guys can put me in a position to be a championship
02:30 contender, aka the same page, then that's when you're going to get a guy like
02:35 Giannis finally kind of go and say to himself, I want out of Milwaukee, and if
02:41 handled right, it could be like the same way when Damian Lillard asked out of
02:47 Portland and people were like, you did your best, good for you, you can move on
02:52 to somewhere else, you deserve it.
