00:00 your top tips for writing a speech for a wedding? So I think when it comes to
00:05 writing a speech for a wedding, once again it's all about the sentiment
00:09 behind it, depending on your role on the day. So for example a few weeks ago I
00:14 wrote a speech for a mother of the groom and that would be very different from
00:18 writing a speech for a best man for example. So get really clear on what it
00:23 is that you want to say and perhaps narrow it down to maybe three or four
00:28 key bullet points and just populate everything against those bullet points.
00:33 If you are a best man then you will have to include some humour. I think a
00:39 key tip if you are delivering a speech as a best man or indeed a best woman is
00:45 to make your humour, make sure you're comfortable with the humour and see it
00:51 through the eyes of the guests that you're going to be reading the speech
00:54 out to. So if you feel that some of your jokes are perhaps too risky or a little
00:59 bit too offensive you're not going to feel comfortable when it gets down to
01:03 the moment of you delivering that speech on the day. So just be really comfortable
01:07 with everything and own it.
