The Week Ahead with The Yorkshire Post.
Transcript
00:00Hi there, it's John Blow from the Yorkshire Post here. I'm going to take you through some of the things coming up in the week ahead.
00:06Decisions due to be made today about whether the owners of Yorkshire Theme Park Flamingo Land can create a major new tourist site in the National Park area of Scotland.
00:15The controversial plan will be discussed at a public meeting of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority in Balloch.
00:22Elsewhere, it's the political conference season, so the Liberal Democrats and Governing Labour Party are both gathering this week.
00:31After making gains in the general election earlier this year, the Lib Dems got together in Brighton over the weekend but will continue with their agenda today and tomorrow, while leader Sir Ed Davey will give his keynote speech on Tuesday too.
00:45The Labour conference, meanwhile, starts in Liverpool on Sunday, although the bulk of major business takes place early next week.
00:53Scarborough Pride will take place on Saturday. The parade starts outside the Runswick Centre at 11am, heading through the town centre along Newborough and Westborough,
01:03before moving along to Foreshore Road towards Scarborough Spa, where events will continue throughout the rest of the day, and Sunday marks the Autumn Equinox, which is the first day of the season.
