00:40 The e-Visa System will allow foreign nationals to apply for visitor visas remotely

00:46 through their personal computers, laptops, and mobile devices.

00:54 Chinese nationals are being sent to the Philippines.

00:58 I'm pleased to share that the Philippine e-Visa System is ready to be soft launched for beta testing

01:04 which will be led by the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai.

01:08 More Chinese tourists are expected to visit the Philippines.

01:14 Before the pandemic,

01:16 China is the second largest number of tourists visiting the Philippines,

01:21 followed by South Korean nationals.

01:23 Some of their favorite destinations are the island of Burakay,

01:28 where there is a direct flight from China to Kalibu, Aklan.

01:32 Senator Nancy Binay, the Chair of the Senate Tourism Committee, also showed support.

01:37 But she also hopes that there will be a face-to-face process

01:41 so that undesirable travelers will not just enter the country.

01:46 Binay's hope is that foreign and local tourists will visit the Philippines simultaneously

01:53 because it's only been a few weeks,

01:55 a few months already.
