00:00 All right, today is Thursday.
00:01 It is August 24th.
00:02 Welcome to the dog walk presented by Barstool Sports.
00:05 Today I'm joined in studio by Mr. Skin, Jim McBride,
00:09 really a legend of the game.
00:11 And I don't know how I did not know you were based out of Chicago.
00:14 Yeah, from the start, I've been in Chicago.
00:16 I grew up in Oak Park River Forest,
00:18 was living in the city, working at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
00:21 when I had this crazy idea in the 90s to start Mr. Skin.
00:25 And yeah, I'm seriously just a Chicago guy
00:30 and a big sports fan in Chicago.
00:33 And all this Mr. Skin celebrity that's happened.
00:38 A lot of people think I live in New York or California because,
00:42 you know, I've done so much media for the website, but always been in Chicago.
00:47 And it's it's been a riot.
00:49 It really is. I mean, what a what a what a job, you know?
00:52 And well, I explain for people who don't know Mr. Skin.
00:55 Dot com is well, Mr. Skin.
00:57 Dot com is a database I launched on August 10th of ninety nine.
01:00 So we're like 20.
01:01 We just had our 24th anniversary of the website, which is incredible.
01:04 Ridiculous. And I.
01:07 Yeah, I just started.
01:12 Oh, well, really, what the thing's about is it's a database
01:15 where you can find out if any actress in the history of movies or television
01:19 has ever done a nude scene.
01:20 And I when I started this, I launched it in on August 10th of ninety nine
01:25 with a thousand actresses.
01:27 And now we have like something like almost 40,000 actresses, you know,
01:30 because so many people have come along that have done nude scenes.
01:34 But I really when I was working at the Merc, I was a clerk.
01:38 And I remember thinking, you know, if I I'm going to start this website,
01:42 there's a back story to it.
01:43 But I remember thinking, you know, if I could just make a couple
01:47 extra bucks in advertising, what a great side job that'll be.
01:51 And here we are. Twenty four years later, I have over 40 employees
01:54 and our offices are in Chicago.
01:57 And though not many people still come to the office, but it's
02:01 I think more than anything, it's like it's been so much fun.
02:06 And I was going nowhere fast, you know, in the in my 30s,
02:10 working as a clerk at the Mercantile Exchange and just took this chance.
02:14 And, you know, I really am lucky.
02:16 I truly am.
02:18 Hey, let's take a quick break here because I want to talk about my friends
02:20 at ChevyDriveChicago.com.
02:22 And they have breaking news that we've been telling you about
02:25 for the past month because it's such big news.
02:27 You people just need to hear it again and again.
02:29 And I don't say that sarcastically.
02:30 I mean it sincerely, because Bears fans, the Chicagoland and Northwest
02:35 Indiana Chevy dealers are proud to announce that they are the new
02:37 official partner of the Chicago Bears, which is a big deal.
02:39 That means Silverado and Tailgates are going to be partners
02:43 like peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti and meatballs, lamb and tuna fish,
02:47 whatever you say, Bears, Chicagoland, Chevy, Silverados,
02:51 Tailgate trucks in the tailgates.
02:54 We also have in the parking lots.
02:56 Excuse me.
02:57 We also have very cool stuff
02:59 with the Bears and Chevy around the corner that we're going to let you know about.
03:02 A little teaser there.
03:04 But regardless, what I want from you today is to head to ChevyDriveChicago.com
03:08 to shop and find your local Chevy dealer today.
03:10 It's that simple.
03:11 Go get priced out for a brand new Silverado.
03:14 Maybe a Colorado is in your interest.
03:16 Maybe you want a Malibu.
03:17 Maybe you want a Blazer.
03:18 Maybe you want a Trax.
03:19 Maybe you want an Equinox.
03:20 It doesn't matter.
03:21 It's all there for you at ChevyDriveChicago.com.
03:23 Go grab it.
03:24 Go root for the Bears.
03:25 Drive a Chevy.
03:26 It's that easy.
03:27 All right.
03:28 Let's head back to the show.
03:30 Damn. OK, so what would the inception though?
03:32 Like I just envision you being with your buddy in some like old town apartment
03:37 and just like, oh, man, has that girl ever been naked?
03:40 Like, look it up.
03:41 Well, I can tell you where it started.
03:42 But the back story is when I was a kid, I just see I just was a kid in the 70s.
03:47 And it's hard for younger guys to understand.
03:50 Like I had ABC, NBC and CBS.
03:52 That was it. Playboys.
03:54 We didn't have cable.
03:56 I didn't have a phone.
03:58 We didn't have Internet.
04:00 And all of a sudden, one day in the fall of 1980,
04:03 living in a park where a forest I got cable television.
04:06 And it was like, you know, it was like this chain of events
04:11 of you got to be kidding me, because at the exact same time, I just got a Betamax.
04:14 And all of a sudden in my house is HBO Cinemax Showtime.
04:20 I'm getting drive in movies, Italian sex comedies,
04:24 black exploitation films, all these R-rated movies.
04:27 And I would just I was just in heaven.
04:29 Yeah, I was like a senior in high school at the time.
04:32 I would just take tape every movie I could.
04:35 And luckily, I was smart enough to get a second Betamax
04:39 and I would edit the nude scenes on to kind of best of like hockey compilation.
04:44 Now, with no plan to make a career out of that, just I was a fan of it.
04:51 That's was that was my thing.
04:53 And throughout the, you know, the 80s and 90s,
04:57 I was the fun guy at parties or weddings where you could just say like,
05:02 yeah, is this actress ever been naked?
05:04 I knew, you know, has Helen Hunt ever been naked?
05:06 And I'd say, yeah, the water dance 1992 just before Mad About You.
05:09 And people would freak out
05:11 because they didn't have anywhere to go to look this stuff up, you know.
05:13 And I just started.
05:16 What happened was and, you know, Chicago.
05:20 So in the mid or late 90s,
05:25 when I was working at the Merc, a buddy of mine said, hey, come to Charlie's Ale House
05:29 because I lived across the street.
05:30 He said it was like a Tuesday.
05:32 And it was like at Webster and Magnolia.
05:36 And I lived two doors down.
05:38 I said, sure, whatever.
05:39 I had to be up early in the morning.
05:41 But I went there and it was like a Tuesday night.
05:44 And these guys, my friends were there and they're quizzing me on actresses again,
05:48 like they always do when they get drunk.
05:50 And standing next to me is Harry Tynewitz, who, you know, Mac, Yerko and Harry.
05:56 But I didn't know him at the time and he was just having a drink.
05:59 And he's like, holy shit, you know, this stuff off the top of your head.
06:02 You got to come on my radio show.
06:04 And I was like, yeah, whatever.
06:06 And I kind of blew it off and he kept he was persistent.
06:10 And he he asked me.
06:13 He finally convinced me to do it.
06:16 And I went in studio one day.
06:19 I left the Merc.
06:20 They were doing Harry and Spike were doing middays in at the time.
06:25 And I went over the Hancock to do their show, thinking, you know,
06:28 I'll do this for 15 minutes, then I'm done.
06:30 And I went down there and they were they had callers ask me questions.
06:36 It was a lot of fun.
06:38 And I had a riot. It was it was great.
06:41 And as I was leaving, the producer came up to me and said, listen,
06:45 we had so many people wanting to ask more questions.
06:48 Would you do this again?
06:50 And I remember thinking to myself, I really have something here.
06:54 I don't know what it is, but I I have something here.
06:56 And that's that's kind of the origin of the whole Mr. Skin thing.
06:59 Wow. OK, so then.
07:01 And by the way, I should mention before I even went on,
07:04 I said, I don't want to use my real name, Harry.
07:06 So let's come up with a moniker, you know, because I knew a little about radio
07:10 from Dahl and all those other things.
07:12 And he said, how about Mr. Naked?
07:14 And I said, yeah, it seems kind of creepy.
07:16 And he goes, well, how about Mr. Skin?
07:18 And that's it was a second one. And that was it.
07:20 That was it. So then when did you start bringing out Jim?
07:24 Like you just like I'm pretty into this now.
07:26 No, I I always go on the radio as Mr. Skin always have.
07:30 And that makes sense. I was always promoting.
07:32 But for the first couple of years, I wasn't I had no financial.
07:37 I was not looking for a financial benefit from this.
07:39 I was just doing it to to kind of, I don't know, show off, have fun,
07:43 get to be on the radio.
07:45 And I didn't have a book to promote.
07:47 I didn't have a website.
07:48 I didn't you know, this was 98 when I started to do this in Chicago radio.
07:52 And then all of a sudden, Steve Dahl heard me on Harry's show and he had me on.
07:57 And once he did
07:59 their producer knew a producer in Seattle, the Bob Rivers show.
08:03 And then there was a show in Boston called Maddie in the morning
08:06 that they started having me on.
08:08 And then it kind of kind of ballooned from there.
08:11 But again, I was doing all these shows without, you know, just to
08:14 anywhere to direct people to like you would just go on.
08:17 No, I wasn't doing it to make money.
08:19 I was doing it for the fun of it.
08:20 And then finally, I was umpiring one of Steve Dahl's celebrity softball games.
08:25 I was the umpire as Mr. Skinner.
08:28 Mr. Skinner.
08:29 And they had fans come to the softball game.
08:32 And at the end of it, this guy came up to me and said, hey, listen,
08:36 I hear you on the radio all the time.
08:38 I think what you do would make a great website.
08:40 And I looked at him, I go, what's a website?
08:42 I had no idea.
08:43 You know, 98.
08:45 I didn't know.
08:45 And he's he said, well, if you could raise a little money,
08:49 I could help you build it.
08:50 And I ended up talking to my brother in law who was in real estate and a trader
08:58 at the at the Merc, who's a friend of mine.
09:01 And we raised, it wasn't even a lot like 75, $70,000.
09:05 And I like lived off it for a year and paid some tech people and launched
09:12 the website on August 10th of 99.
09:14 Okay.
09:15 So August 10th of 99, what is the instant hit?
09:18 Like what is who's the most searched person on that website right when it launches?
09:23 Uh, oh, well, Angelina Jolie was super popular.
09:26 Cause like she had just done a movie.
09:29 Uh, she had done a few movies, but then that geo was out.
09:31 Remember Gia, does that ring a bell?
09:33 I think those days, I think a Tomb Raider.
09:35 Yeah, right.
09:36 Yeah.
09:36 Whatever.
09:37 But, uh, she was really popular.
09:39 You know, who else was super popular when I launched?
09:41 And even to this day is still in our top, you know, 50 most searched is Alyssa Milano.
09:47 Oh, really?
09:48 So she's on who's the boss.
09:50 And all of a sudden she grows up, disappears for about a few years, gets
09:55 breast implants, and then all of a sudden is on, like, is, is doing this movie
10:00 called embrace of the vampire, which aired on cable TV all throughout the nineties.
10:04 And she did all these nude scenes and it freaked people out.
10:08 Cause you know, it's like when you see someone who was a child star and then
10:11 they grow up and then you're like, holy crap, they're doing nude scenes.
10:14 You know, people, you're like a fan of them.
10:16 And, uh, yeah, she was, that was a really popular one too.
10:19 But I also, another thing I remember from the very early, early days is we flip the
10:24 switch.
10:25 It was like 4 45 PM central standard time on August 10th of 1999.
10:31 Finally flipped the switch after all my work for a year, my little studio apartment
10:36 trying to get ready for this website and turned it on.
10:39 It's working within five minutes.
10:42 We had our first join was a, some guy from Cincinnati that subscribed to the
10:46 website, which was really cool.
10:48 But in the first week I got an email from this other guy who came to the website
10:54 and he said, you know, what I really love about mr.
10:56 skin.com is it doesn't make you feel sleazy.
11:00 And that, that was always kind of the thing I wanted to do was I didn't want it to
11:06 be a, it's an R rated site, you know?
11:08 And I didn't want it to have that porn feel.
11:11 I wanted it to make it feel like kind of like retro and even the face of Mr.
11:18 Skin, which they talk about in the movie knocked up for instance, was done to be
11:23 that like every man from the fifties in those you know, in those advertisements
11:29 where you'd see like a guy, a dad raking the leaves with the smiley face.
11:33 Like that's what I based the Mr.
11:35 Skin head logo on.
11:37 And that made me feel really good that that was what I was trying to get across as
11:41 like a place where it was, you could see nude scenes and learn about nude scenes,
11:45 but also it'd be funny and punny and all that other stuff.
11:48 Yeah.
11:48 Well, because it's out there, right?
11:50 They agreed to this.
11:51 This was something where you know that they were in on it, you know?
11:54 So it's a little different.
11:55 Well, yeah.
11:56 And the other, the other decision I made early on was I was never gonna like post
12:01 stolen pictures.
12:03 Well, you know, when the cell phone stolen picture thing happened, we never touched
12:07 that.
12:07 And in the very beginning of the website, one of the things I just said no on was
12:12 like paparazzi pictures where the act actress didn't know it was happening or any
12:17 paparazzi pictures like a nip slip or something.
12:19 Well, no nip slip.
12:20 If you're in a movie or television, that's fair game as far as what we do.
12:24 But like if, like when Jennifer Aniston was sunbathing in her backyard and somebody
12:29 climbed a tree and got a picture of her, like that's, that's not
12:33 for us.
12:33 Like it has to be something an actress willingly appeared in to qualify for MrSkin.com.
12:38 Which is a pretty good rule of thumb.
12:40 Well, it's, listen, we've been in business 24 years and there's a reason we've been in
12:44 business 24 years.
12:45 And the other thing I think too is we, we like, you know, we celebrate nudity in film.
12:50 Like I know like Kathy Bates was nude and about Schmidt, like guys joke around about
12:55 that.
12:55 But if you went to our website, you'd think that was, we were so happy that Kathy Bates
13:01 did a website, which is true.
13:02 Like, cause I always had that thing where like, why would I say, you know, this is a
13:07 shitty website.
13:08 She looks horrible.
13:09 Like, why would I say that when there's probably some guy out there that's so happy
13:12 that Kathy Bates did a nude scene, let him, why would rain on his parade?
13:16 Absolutely.
13:17 Right.
13:17 And, and throughout our whole history and to this day, everything is celebrated.
13:22 Like we're, we're just ecstatic.
13:24 If it's a nip slip or a grateful frontal scene, we're very happy.
13:28 You're in on it.
13:28 Yeah.
13:29 So how did you do this with the studios not being down their neck?
13:33 Well, many studios through the years had sent us screeners and things.
13:37 And keep in mind we're review, we review the movie for the nudity.
13:44 It's like when, think about like Siskel and Ebert, when they used to, they'd show
13:49 clips of the movie.
13:50 Why were they able to show clips of the movie?
13:52 Because they were reviewing it.
13:53 And before I launched the website, I met with an IP attorney here in Chicago and I
14:00 said, listen, I'm going to, you know, I raised this money.
14:03 I quit my job at the Merc.
14:05 I mean, I don't want this thing to get shut down in three months.
14:08 How do I do this so that it's legal?
14:10 She said, you have to rate, review, give news stories.
14:17 The, the pictures and clips, um, have to support your editorial content.
14:23 And we've been really careful about that.
14:26 And, um, you know, like I said, we've been doing it for 24 years.
14:29 So obviously we're, we're doing something right.
14:31 Gotcha.
14:32 So there's more to it that makes it official.
14:34 Listen, you could go, there's plenty of places on the internet that will just post
14:39 nude pictures with no context, no review.
14:42 They just do it.
14:43 And it's, that's illegal.
14:45 You're not allowed to do it that way, but you know, we chose to do it, you
14:50 know, legally and it's, uh, it's just the advice I got early on.
14:55 And it's worked ever since.
14:56 Has anyone ever tried to sue you?
14:58 Is there a star that took exception with your website?
15:01 Yeah, I'll tell you.
15:02 Yeah.
15:02 In the history.
15:03 Yes.
15:03 There's been not, nobody's ever, no act, no celebrities ever sued us, but yes.
15:08 Have people contacted us to, you know, Hey, could you take this down and stuff?
15:13 But, um, it's, I'll tell you what, it's, it's funny.
15:17 It's so think about, we chronicle every nude scene in the history of movies and
15:21 television.
15:21 That's our goal of the website.
15:23 But it's like, it's not like the Angelina Jolie's and the Jennifer
15:28 Aniston's that hit you up.
15:29 It's the, like, it's the, it's the, um, woman who maybe was a B movie actress in
15:36 the 90 that's now a school teacher and they'll hit you up.
15:40 And I'm like, yes, I will take that down.
15:42 No problem.
15:43 Cause you know, they did this, they were nobody, they happened to be nude in some
15:47 like drive-in movie in the eighties or whatever.
15:50 And now they're, you know, religious person or whatever it is.
15:54 So in those cases, I always am like, yeah, of course, not a problem, but it's, it's
15:59 really not.
16:00 I mean, think about it.
16:01 Like Angelina Jolie nude is I'm not the only place people can go.
16:06 Right.
16:06 Exactly.
16:07 Exactly.
16:07 So when we're talking, um, most iconic scene of all time.
16:12 Well, I get asked a lot.
16:14 What's the greatest nude scene of all time.
16:15 And I haven't changed since I launched to this day.
16:19 It's Phoebe Cates and fast times.
16:21 The rich guy.
16:22 And I mean, it's almost the perfect nude scene from people.
16:26 Maybe the younger guys don't understand this, but in my younger guy day, Phoebe
16:30 Cates was like a legend.
16:31 She was on the cover of teen beat magazine.
16:33 She was in all the cool movies and, uh, fast times.
16:37 Originally my high is a hilarious movie.
16:39 We all could quote lines from it.
16:40 Um, the music, the cars moving in stereo.
16:43 If you're ever driving in the car and you hear movie moving in stereo, what
16:46 do you think about, you think about Phoebe Cates and fast times and just how
16:50 gorgeous she was in the scene, the slow motion, the water, Judd, uh, Judge
16:56 Reinhold work in the gavel, the whole thing.
16:58 And, uh, uh, to me, it's the perfect nude scene.
17:01 Now, have there been other great ones since then?
17:05 Yes.
17:06 I mean, because I would have probably guessed basic instinct.
17:08 Well, I'll tell you what, basically it's the most famous nude scene of all time,
17:12 because you gotta remember that was a huge blockbuster movie when I used to go to the
17:17 video store in the nineties and rent basic instinct and you'd get to that scene.
17:21 It would be all squiggly because all the dudes were pausing it and, you know,
17:26 enjoying the scene, but, um, uh, everyone it's been parodied.
17:32 Uh, it's just, you name every.
17:36 I don't care what your age is, you know, that scene in basic instinct.
17:40 So to me, that's the most famous nude scene.
17:42 I had it, uh, it probably in my top five, you know, for sure.
17:46 But, um, behind Phoebe Cates, things shift, but Phoebe Cates always stays number one.
17:52 I like that.
17:54 That's a great number one.
17:54 So you are at those two can off your top of your head.
17:57 Can you do the rest?
17:58 I got to assume just based on how big, because I'd be interested what you think.
18:02 I would say based on how big the movie was, I would say that, uh, Kate Winslet
18:06 and Titanic has got to be up there.
18:07 Maybe.
18:07 I okay.
18:08 That's in competition for most.
18:11 Notorious or known because of, you know, a movie that made over a billion
18:15 dollars and then was been on videos forever.
18:18 So I don't consider that a top five or so, but it's, it's definitely in the, in
18:25 the most famous, you know, top five, most famous.
18:29 How about that?
18:29 You know, um, like a newer one that jumped to the head of the class for me was,
18:35 uh, Alexander Daddario and true to
18:37 tell.
18:37 Oh, dude, that's a great preaching to the choir.
18:41 That's a great one.
18:42 Yeah.
18:42 That's, I mean, that's just a classic one.
18:44 Because like, that's another one I get like, you know, I've been doing this 24
18:47 year longer, but it's like, people ask me like, when you see a nude scene, does it.
18:53 Now like a great nude scene, do you get the same thrill out of it?
18:57 And Alexander Daddario was one.
18:59 I remember I was watching the, I liked those true detective shows on HBO and I
19:04 was watching it with my wife.
19:07 I remember that.
19:08 And I, and like, it was January when it aired, it was like, I can't remember.
19:12 It was like 2016 or some 17 and I'm watching it with my wife and I turn her,
19:18 I go, that's the number one nude scene of the year.
19:20 And it was January.
19:20 You know, that was a big call.
19:22 You knew that you called your shot.
19:24 Well, there's a, um, there's a new movie comedy out with Jennifer
19:28 Lawrence called no hard feelings.
19:29 Saw it in theaters.
19:30 Yeah.
19:30 How about that?
19:31 Did not see it coming.
19:32 Did not see it coming.
19:33 Nobody did.
19:34 Yeah.
19:34 That will be the number one nude scene of 2023.
19:37 It has to be.
19:38 It's awesome.
19:38 Like she, like credits to her.
19:40 Okay.
19:40 She's an A-list actress.
19:41 Yes.
19:42 No, it's not need to do that.
19:43 Full nudity, wrestling, funny scene goes on forever.
19:48 I mean, it's like, again, that that's a legend that'll go down in
19:52 the hall of fame of nude scenes.
19:54 Yeah.
19:54 It kind of changed my whole perspective on her too.
19:56 Like before I thought, yeah.
19:57 Before I thought she was like, played the quirky girl to like be like, whatever.
20:02 Now I'm like, oh, she's just like, she's just kind of cool.
20:04 Like she just like, doesn't give a fuck.
20:05 She's just seems like a cool chick.
20:07 And I read an article about her doing that scene and she said, why not?
20:10 It was funny.
20:12 I enjoyed it.
20:12 And that's how it should be.
20:13 I, I hate hearing when actresses like after they do a nude scene, regret it.
20:17 Like it's, it's those it's that attitude that is, it's the best way to fend off
20:24 any bullshit from people, you know, it's just to say, Hey, I had a riot.
20:28 So what?
20:28 I was naked.
20:29 Big deal.
20:29 I mean, nudity is a good thing.
20:31 It's not a bad thing.
20:32 Yeah, sure.
20:33 And now I got to assume that the Sydney Sweeney business is booming.
20:37 Yes, she is.
20:38 Uh, she's, she's one of the most searched actresses at our website since that
20:42 euphoria, uh, came out and, uh, she did a movie called voyeur, the voyeurs, which.
20:47 Is actually was a, I don't know if you've seen it.
20:51 Okay.
20:51 You're actually very, he's actually very schooled and nudity.
20:57 Uh, but, um, uh, yeah, but she's, uh, definitely one of our, our more searched
21:02 actresses and I, um, another thing that, and I always wonder, cause you're a lot
21:07 younger than me and you're from this generation, but people ask me like, is
21:11 there more nudity now or less nudity?
21:13 Like what is going on?
21:14 And, um, we actually know the answer to that because in tooth, like, so.
21:20 Because you know how there's just so many platforms now there's like all this, all
21:25 these, uh, streaming, all these shows that it just in 2000 to 2010, yes, there
21:32 was HBO and, you know, sex in the city, Sopranos, you know, these things, but now
21:38 it's like unbelievable, but I really think it peaked in about 2017 because we
21:44 did a, we looked at every sex scene and every nude scene from 2017 to 2022.
21:52 And in sex scenes, there were from the peak of 2017, there's been like 40% drop
22:00 from nude scenes, it's a 60% trap.
22:04 Now you might say, well, how could that be?
22:08 And the answer is that you got to put it in perspective.
22:11 There's still way more nudity than there was in 2005 or 2010.
22:16 I'm just talking in the world of tons of different platforms, Peacock
22:21 network and BET plus and all these different places, there's never been
22:26 more nudity except in this since then it's, it's been falling off and, but
22:31 there's reasons for that.
22:32 I think COVID definitely had something to do with it.
22:34 People weren't willing to have sex right during COVID.
22:38 They, they couldn't film as much.
22:40 Um, I think the me too movement had a little to do with it and like, you know,
22:44 let's be careful and all that, I think, but I think the biggest reason I'd love
22:48 your, if you feel the same way, like I came from the era where like, man, if I
22:53 caught a bra shot and a serious catalog, I was going crazy.
22:57 Like that was a big day.
22:58 Whereas like you guys in your life, like since you were like in eighth grade, I
23:07 don't know, you could, you had like internet, like at your fingertips.
23:13 So yeah, you appreciate a good nude scene, but you don't seek out a good nude scene.
23:19 Like, you know what I'm saying?
23:20 Like I, we would guys, my age would go to animal house.
23:24 Yeah.
23:25 We wanted to laugh, but we also wanted to see all the nudity and stuff.
23:28 You know what I'm saying?
23:28 Like, I just don't know if like, it's as important to get asses in the seats for
23:33 younger guys than it was for my generation.
23:36 I don't know.
23:36 That makes sense.
23:37 I do think it just takes the right person to get it done.
23:41 Like I think everyone, whether you saw that movie or not, every guy probably went
23:45 and looked up the Jennifer Lawrence scene, right?
23:48 Like I think.
23:49 Right.
23:50 But, but you got to understand, like in my era, we couldn't even like, we just,
23:57 that would have been such, we had to go to a theater and like focus on it.
24:02 Yeah.
24:02 We couldn't like rewatch it or, you know, it's just, you know what I'm
24:06 saying?
24:06 Like it was a different thing.
24:07 So I just think that guys in my, you know, over 40, 50s guys just have a different
24:13 perspective on nudity than I think guys in their twenties and thirties.
24:16 I just.
24:16 No, I agree with you.
24:17 And cause I do remember, cause I'm kind of at the cutoff.
24:20 I'm 32.
24:21 Right.
24:21 Uh, you know, Nadia Shannon Elizabeth scene in American pie, American pie when I
24:27 was nine years old, like that, you know, or whatever, that was it.
24:30 99.
24:30 Yeah.
24:30 That was right when I launched the website.
24:32 Yeah.
24:32 It was like another big one.
24:34 I have funny story.
24:34 I was, uh, back when, uh, Jim cook from, uh, the beer guy from, uh, Sam Adams
24:40 beer, I had just started my website and it was, uh, 2000 and 2001.
24:46 I got invited.
24:47 Jim cook was having all these morning radio shows out in Boston at his brewery.
24:52 And then he invited, they invited a bunch of, you know, celebrities to, to go around
24:59 the tables for the two, for the Thursday and Friday that they were doing morning
25:03 shows to have people interview live.
25:05 And one of them were like, they asked me, which I was like, are they thinking about
25:11 me?
25:11 Yeah.
25:12 But I was lucky enough to be asked cause I had been doing so much radio that somehow
25:16 someone heard about me and I, I went out there.
25:18 Shannon Elizabeth was there cause American pie was out the guys from jackass and no
25:24 one knew who they were.
25:25 They were just starting.
25:26 So Johnny Knoxville and Steve O and those guys were like, I'm all in the green room
25:30 with all these people.
25:31 Tara Reed was there.
25:32 Remember her?
25:33 Hell yeah.
25:33 Yeah.
25:33 And, um, I, I got to do, you know, so I remember I was on the elevator, which just
25:39 me and Shannon Elizabeth and she was so beautiful.
25:41 And I'm thinking to myself, Jesus, I just, you're on my website, but I can't say
25:46 anything.
25:46 You know, I was too embarrassed to say anything.
25:48 But, um, anyway, that was a cool story.
25:51 One of the many cool things I've gotten to do through the years, you know, for sure.
25:55 I'm sure there's a time.
25:56 And so let's go back to that then.
25:58 So you would say, so we'd say Phoebe Kates and basic instinct obviously are two of
26:03 the five.
26:03 Yeah.
26:03 Shannon Elizabeth, I think you think she makes the top five or not.
26:07 Shannon Elizabeth, um, uh, Alexandra D'Addario.
26:09 Okay.
26:09 So she's Shannon Elizabeth is up there, but not my top five.
26:12 Um, I gotta say, um, uh, uh, Halle, Halle Berry, a monster's ball.
26:18 Okay.
26:19 Cause she won, cause she won an Oscar scene goes on forever.
26:23 It's like three minutes long and you know, she wasn't at the time she hadn't really
26:26 done much nudity wise.
26:28 So, you know, that would definitely be in the top five.
26:30 Yeah, definitely.
26:31 Um, a little throwback.
26:33 I don't know if you know who this is.
26:35 Kelly Preston that was married to John Travolta.
26:37 She did a movie called mischief in 1985, which is a personal favorite.
26:42 That's kind of a, you, maybe your guys could do a little research on that one, but
26:46 that you will not be disappointed.
26:48 So, okay.
26:49 All right.
26:50 And then what I would, I would assume when it's all said and done, just because how
26:55 famous she's getting now, especially with Barbie, but Margot Robbie at some point.
26:59 Yeah, that's one where I like to use this analogy because people ask me also is nudity
27:06 bad for your career?
27:07 Like, is it a bad thing?
27:08 Cause people think of Elizabeth Berkley and showgirls, you know, like that hurt her
27:13 career.
27:13 I don't know if it did, but there could be an argument could be made.
27:16 But, um, I say Margot Robbie, like no one knew who Margot Robbie was.
27:21 When you walked in the Wolf of Wall Street in the theater, watch it for the first time.
27:25 You didn't know who she was.
27:26 Zero.
27:26 She does that nude scene.
27:28 And now all you want to do is know more about Margot Robbie, right?
27:31 Yeah.
27:32 And, uh, now her career has just completely taken off and, uh, you know, she's one of
27:37 the biggest stars in Hollywood.
27:38 So, so moral of the story, nudity, not bad for one's career.
27:43 Cause what was the second movie she did after that?
27:45 I'm trying to think, cause I know there's definitely a lot of people that probably
27:48 were like, Oh, what, what is she in?
27:50 And kind of took more interest in her work after that.
27:51 Well, yeah.
27:52 Well, it's like now she's like, uh, I mean, she's just become, she's just become huge
27:58 since then.
27:59 And she was like a, I want to say she was a soap opera person in like Australia or
28:05 something.
28:05 Like she was a, she's not from the United States.
28:07 Yeah.
28:07 She's Australian.
28:08 Yeah.
28:08 Yeah.
28:09 Yeah.
28:09 Like the big one she did.
28:10 Well, she was in the big short.
28:12 She's a cameo, but then she was, she was Harley Quinn.
28:14 Well, that was a little later, but yeah, that was in 2016.
28:17 But I'm saying like, well, if Wall Street came out in 13, like you're like, Oh, she's
28:21 Harley Quinn.
28:21 Perfect.
28:22 Like, right.
28:22 But she wasn't going to be Harley Quinn prior to Wolf of Wall Street.
28:26 And then she was Tanya Harding.
28:28 Yeah.
28:28 Um, so big, big shifts are who is it?
28:31 Oh yeah.
28:31 Tanya Harding.
28:32 Yeah.
28:32 She did.
28:33 I Tanya, who is a commonly searched one or who is someone that they wouldn't like
28:40 people don't realize that she has a new team out there, but she does.
28:43 Who's like a sneaky one.
28:44 Well, maybe one like from your era, like Molly Ringwald.
28:47 Remember her from John Hughes movies.
28:49 She, she did a weird movie where she played a stalker of a, of a college baseball
28:55 player in a movie called malicious in 1995 and about 15 minutes in she's riding him
29:00 topless and Molly Ringwald.
29:03 Fantastic.
29:04 Breasts like legendary.
29:06 And I think you might have to do a little research on that one.
29:10 And, uh, um, that would be one like from my era, like Marsha from the Brady bunch,
29:15 like people would freak out that Marsha showed her breasts at a movie called Texas
29:19 lightning in 1980.
29:21 It was a drive-in movie.
29:22 She smoked, drank, swore, and an hour and four minutes in she flashes breasts and
29:28 that's Marsha from the Brady bunch.
29:29 You gotta be kidding me.
29:30 So that was when I think for you, older, older guys like Julie Andrews, you know,
29:34 sound of music.
29:35 She was nude in a movie called SOB.
29:37 Uh, that's one.
29:38 So there's, there's a lot of those.
29:39 You'd be surprised.
29:40 Uh, I don't know if you have a favorite from your childhood, but yeah, it's, you'd
29:45 be surprised how many actresses have done nude scenes, especially if you're foreign.
29:48 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
29:49 No, you're right.
29:51 And then what about who is searched the most that doesn't have one?
29:54 It's the same as, Oh, like who's the coveted ones.
29:57 Well, I think Mila Kunis is one and people might think, well, I saw her in friends with
30:01 benefits nude, but that was a body double.
30:03 So she's like a, a one, uh, an actress that has yet to do an official nude scene that
30:09 still gets a ton of searches at our website.
30:11 Really?
30:12 So how do you navigate that with a body double?
30:14 Do you like ask the studio or how do you find that?
30:16 No, it's pretty body.
30:18 I'll tell you what, body doubles are not hard to tell.
30:21 There's a, it's pretty easy.
30:23 Um, cause that's what we do.
30:25 What's getting hard to CGI.
30:27 Hmm.
30:28 That's another one.
30:28 When, um, uh, there was a movie called the change up in 2011 where Leslie Mann, um,
30:34 walked into the bedroom with Paul Rudd nude and it was like, Holy geez, Leslie
30:40 man's body's ridiculous.
30:41 Well, it was all CGI.
30:42 It wasn't hers.
30:44 And, um, uh, like you remember in game of Thrones when seriously Lannister made the
30:50 walk of shame, completely nude.
30:52 That was CGI.
30:53 That wasn't her.
30:54 That was a, a model named Rebecca Van Cleef who was 24 years old.
30:59 Uh, uh, Lena Hedy, seriously.
31:01 Lannister was like in her forties.
31:03 That was, I was like, wait, I love the scene, but something's not right.
31:07 So how do you tell this stuff?
31:08 Well, you, well, you know, word gets out, you know, it's like people that worked on
31:13 the movie, eventually we get to the bottom of it.
31:15 No pun intended, but it's a, it's just one of the things.
31:19 And I'll tell you another thing that's thrown a loop.
31:21 Merkins, you know what a Merkin is?
31:23 That's like a pubic wig.
31:24 Yes.
31:25 I'll tell you what, with all these shows, these 70 shows, like they just had that
31:29 winning time Laker and this actress had a nude scene in the first episode and like
31:34 this big woolly seventies Bush.
31:37 And it's like an obvious Merkin, but.
31:40 Those are, those are easier, but like, um, Olivia wild was in vinyl with the show.
31:45 It was a HBO show about the record industry in the seventies and she goes full frontal
31:49 and it was like, wow, did she grow that?
31:52 Or is that, you know, and it's like, you got, and then we learned later on that she
31:56 made inter she had some interviews where she was saying she wore this like almost
31:59 like a fur Keeney for the scene.
32:01 And, um, uh, so the, so the Merkin has thrown another thing and you know, that's
32:06 a, well listen, actresses, if, if I had to guess, uh, actresses that are popular
32:14 today probably aren't sporting that down there.
32:17 Like what I remember from the seventies and eighties and most of the nineties, you
32:21 know, it's a different world now.
32:23 So Olivia wild, that was completely fake as American.
32:25 She admitted it.
32:26 She said it was fun.
32:27 It was like, you're wearing a, she called it a fur Keeney.
32:29 That's uh, that's great.
32:33 And then who is the, so, so Mila Kunis most requested,
32:36 Oh, it's whatever is hot.
32:40 Like, um, it's funny, like that Oppenheimer movie came out and now Florence
32:45 Pugh's like the third most searched actress at our website.
32:48 And she's like, plays his, his love, love interest in Oppenheimer.
32:54 Um, the dude from Peaky blinders.
32:56 And, uh, um, it's just like what's popular in pop culture.
33:01 It's becomes popular in our website for that time period.
33:04 Do you know what I'm saying?
33:05 It's just the same as Google, you know?
33:07 So, and as you did make like a women pivot at one point, right?
33:11 Like Mr.
33:12 Man or something.
33:12 Yeah.
33:13 Does that still want a password to that?
33:15 Are you good?
33:15 Yeah, no.
33:18 What, what happened was, uh, it was around 2013 or 14.
33:22 My, um, my team came to me and said, listen, we're already going through all
33:29 these movies and we see all this male nudity and we just kind of fast forward
33:32 through it and get the, you know, the female nude scenes, like there's going
33:36 to be interest from, you know, people for a male nudity website.
33:41 And my reluctance to it was not homophobia.
33:45 My reluctance was, oh man, I do a lot of promotion for these websites.
33:50 I don't want to have to like see Ed Asner nude and then talk about it.
33:54 Like, I don't want it that I don't want that to be my job.
33:56 So they said, no, no, we, we don't even need you to promote it.
34:01 And like, you don't have to be an expert at like in female nudity.
34:05 I consider myself an expert, male nudity.
34:07 I'm not, I have nothing against it, but I just like, I could watch a movie
34:11 and a guy's nude and I, people ask me, I'll forget, I'll be like, I don't know.
34:15 Was he?
34:16 I don't know.
34:16 Yeah.
34:16 But, um, cause it doesn't like, you know, do it for me, but, uh, they convinced me
34:21 to do it and it was funny.
34:23 I'm so naive.
34:25 I thought like, oh yeah, you know, it'll probably be like 50% women and 50% gay
34:30 men, you know, and, and it, it's done real well through the years.
34:35 It's been a great moneymaker for us, but the reality is it's like 99% gay men,
34:40 give or take one or 2% because women do not whip out a credit card to pay for
34:49 nudity.
34:49 This is the way the world works.
34:52 It's just, they just don't.
34:53 And it's guys, whether they're heterosexual or gay guys will pay to see nudity, but
34:59 women won't.
35:00 It's just a fact.
35:01 What is, so what's the big one for that?
35:03 What's that?
35:03 Uh, what's the Phoebe Cates for the Mr.
35:06 Man?
35:06 I don't know.
35:09 It's not boogie nights.
35:10 That was fake, right?
35:11 Yeah.
35:11 That was a prosthetic.
35:12 Um, yeah, I, I really trying to, I, again, I don't want to, I'm not trying to, I'm
35:18 not trying to, I'm not saying this because, oh, I'm not saying personal favor.
35:21 I'm saying like, if you, do you know the data, if you looked at the site?
35:24 Yeah, I could tell you, but I'd have to go to the site and see like, what's, who's
35:28 the most popular actors or actors.
35:29 I mean, the Brad pits and Leo DiCaprio's and all of them are definitely going to be
35:33 in the, on the list, but I don't know, like today, who's the hottest dude right now.
35:38 I really don't only because I just, I mean, my, my website does, but I don't know
35:44 what your answer is.
35:44 No, it's yeah.
35:45 I, I'm not trying to avoid it.
35:47 If I knew I'd tell you.
35:48 No.
35:48 Yeah.
35:48 Yeah.
35:49 I don't, I mean, I'm not, I'm just curious, playing curious.
35:52 Um, is there a, uh, like, but with internet porn, did that, is that, that's
35:57 been a, a bad for business though?
35:59 Obviously I would assume.
36:00 Well, listen, when to put it in perspective, when remember the Janet Jackson
36:08 Superbowl thing with Justin Timberlake, the, for all the times I've been on the
36:13 Howard Stern show, like those appearances were my biggest days as far as making
36:20 money is memberships were the days I'd be on Howard Stern and the replays and all
36:25 that.
36:25 But the number one day in the history of mrskin.com was the morning after the
36:31 Janet Jackson thing because YouTube didn't exist.
36:36 Uh, Facebook didn't exist.
36:39 Twitter didn't exist.
36:40 And I had been doing three or four years of going on all these radio shows as this
36:45 guy that knew nude scenes.
36:47 And for some reason, someone sent me that night, a photographer that was at the, at
36:54 the Superbowl or was like, like at the foot of the stage and sent me some high res
36:59 pictures and he emailed them to me that night and said, Hey, look at this.
37:03 I'm like, holy shit.
37:04 So I put them up at the website that night.
37:08 So then it becomes like this huge news story.
37:12 The next day, everyone's pissed off and there's all this articles and people are
37:16 like, geez, where can I go to see that?
37:18 And it was just like, there was one place now today that would be like, yeah, that
37:24 would be your buddy would have already texted it to you.
37:27 You know, I mean, it would have been on Twitter.
37:29 It's a different era.
37:30 So, but, um, I'll say that, you know, listen, there are people that are willing
37:36 to pay a fee, a monthly fee to be a member of mrskin.com cause it's a one stop shop
37:43 where all that stuff.
37:45 It's not just the nudity you could see, but it's our ratings, reviews, commentary,
37:51 you know, our blogs, all that stuff.
37:54 So it's like to some people that are really fans of nudity and film, it's worth it.
37:58 I totally get it.
37:59 That the guys I thought I'd never pay to look at nudes, which is usually dudes under
38:05 30, but there's also a lot of people that, you know what?
38:09 I don't want to look at search 50 different places.
38:12 And I don't know, is this, is this American?
38:14 Is this a body double?
38:15 I want to know for sure.
38:16 Like I pay for the expertise.
38:18 Yeah.
38:18 So he'll let them know everything about that.
38:20 100%.
38:21 That's good.
38:22 Damn.
38:22 Okay.
38:23 So that was that, that was the number one day of Janet Jackson.
38:25 And then, but Stern, all your media appearances like that's when you.
38:30 Yeah.
38:30 So like if Janet Jackson was number one, number two, three, four, five, six, seven,
38:34 eight, nine.
38:35 So I've been on Stern like got 23 times in my life, which is so surreal cause I'm a
38:42 huge fan of the show.
38:44 So imagine like you're driving and you're listening to Stern and then it's like
38:49 you're on one Oh one or something.
38:51 All of a sudden they play me like all of a sudden I'm on.
38:53 So I forget that I've been on the show.
38:57 You know, I'm so immersed in just being a fan of the show that, you know, I do my one
39:02 appearance a year, but I'm very lucky because I become friendly with like Gary has a
39:07 password.
39:07 All the guys have passwords at the show.
39:09 And, um, I, I get along great with them.
39:12 We bust balls and stuff.
39:14 And, uh, so like, but Howard, I've never other than in studio and he's always been
39:19 super nice to me and obviously having me on is all I ask.
39:23 But like, even if I'm not there, like all of a sudden they'll be talking about some,
39:28 you know, girlfriend experience at Howard likes, and they all got to go on Mr.
39:34 Skin and check it out and talk about it.
39:36 You know what I'm saying?
39:36 So like even when I'm not there, I get the publicity of the website.
39:41 So I haven't been on a show since before COVID and I probably never be on again cause
39:46 they just, the format is just different now, which is fine.
39:49 I got 20 plus years and quite frankly, it's, I got kids now better than I, you know, I
39:57 have daughters in college and high school.
39:59 It's probably better.
40:00 I stick to stick to hanging with you and
40:03 no, that's perfect.
40:05 That's perfect.
40:06 And as a, the knocked up thing must've been pretty surreal too.
40:09 Did you know that was coming?
40:11 I assume.
40:11 Yeah.
40:11 What happened was in a, so in the summer of 2006, universal, a lawyer from universal
40:18 calls me, I'm like, shit, what is this?
40:20 And then he's like, Hey, the guy that did 40 year old virgin.
40:24 That's what he said.
40:26 The guy that did four year old virgin wants to use your website in his next movie.
40:32 And I had all these people.
40:34 He said, let me write up a contract.
40:37 I just would like your permission to use your website in the movie.
40:40 And I had all these people say to me, you know, you should charge them.
40:44 Like you should like, don't let them just use your thing, charge them.
40:48 And then I was thinking, I don't want to like, like, I know what the value of that
40:53 will be and I don't know what the, like to put a number on it, but what if you start
40:58 saying, Hey, give me money.
40:59 And they're like, screw you.
41:00 We'll come up with a different way to do it or whatever.
41:02 So I just like totally overruled everyone.
41:04 I was like, no, I'm just going to have them, you know, put mr skin.com in this
41:09 guy's movie, because I thought 40 year old virgin was really funny.
41:12 So, um, he, so I have no idea how they're going to use it.
41:18 I didn't give him any, I said, any publicity is good publicity.
41:22 Quite frankly, the way Judd Aptow promoted mr skin.com.
41:28 I always joke around like the only better promotion in a movie I could
41:33 think of is Reese's pieces and ET.
41:36 Cause it was like, the guys are all like trying to make this great website and
41:40 they spend all this time and then they realized mr skin.com exists.
41:44 So stop, why are you even going forward?
41:46 You know?
41:46 So I, it's funny.
41:48 People either have heard of me from the Howard Stern show or knocked up or below
41:54 deck.
41:55 That's another one.
41:56 Yeah, that's one.
41:57 Yeah.
41:58 I was, I went on below deck, you know?
42:00 Oh yeah.
42:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
42:01 That was crazy.
42:02 But anyway, those three things are really the biggest reason people would know
42:08 about Mr.
42:09 Skin.
42:10 And so, all right, so knocked up as in the top 10 to, so for big to top two.
42:15 Yeah, for sure.
42:15 It's because like my generation was animal house, blues brothers, stripes to
42:22 guys like 20 years younger than me.
42:25 Knocked up super bad pineapple express.
42:29 You know what I'm saying?
42:30 Like those are their go to.
42:31 That's hard.
42:32 Yeah, for sure.
42:33 So it's, and it airs on a fricking loop on every, I'm laying in bed, flipping
42:38 channels, oh, knocked ups up again.
42:40 And that, you know, it's like, it's on all the time.
42:42 Do you still see a spike even like, do you notice that or no?
42:44 To be honest, I don't go and look after it anymore, but here's the thing.
42:48 It's just like, can just to continue you, you can't, you don't know if like two days
42:55 later, a guy saw it and then remembered to come to, you don't really know.
42:59 And now when I used to do Stern and all that, you talk about spikes, you know,
43:05 like, cause, and again, there weren't a ton of places to go at the time.
43:08 Uh, the spikes were ridiculous.
43:11 And, um, uh, I think it's just overall notoriety for your
43:14 website over the course of years.
43:16 It adds up, it's cumulative, not, it's not like one giant thing
43:20 and then everything goes down.
43:21 It's just, you know, people know the website because it's
43:25 always, it's always on TV.
43:27 Yeah.
43:28 Always.
43:28 Yeah.
43:29 It's crazy.
43:29 And so what, how much is a membership?
43:31 It depends when you come like a nine 95 a month, it could be 1995 a month.
43:37 We do specials, we do yearlies, we do lifetimes, we do three days.
43:42 You know, you can do it.
43:43 It varies.
43:44 It's not crazy expensive at all.
43:46 All right, then go check it out.
43:47 Mr.
43:48 Skin.com.
43:48 All right.
43:50 Free password.
43:51 I'm in, listen, I never,
43:52 you want a, uh, one that also works at Mr.
43:54 Man, are you good?
43:55 I'm all right.
43:55 I'll just do Mr.
43:56 Skin.
43:56 Thank you for the offer though.
43:57 That's very inclusive.
43:58 Uh, besides having the porn king on, this was like the most, I felt like a
44:03 perv on a podcast, so I'm happy with it.
44:05 I hope it was entertaining.
44:07 Cause I don't want to, I don't want to pervy out too.
44:09 That was good.
44:09 No, now that I know you're here, we'll have to bring it back and do
44:11 some regular segments.
44:13 Yeah.
44:13 Anytime.
44:13 Anytime.
44:14 This is great.
44:15 It's easy for me.
44:15 I just do tribe from the suburbs.
44:18 I was here in no time.
44:19 Perfect.
44:20 Anything else you want to get out there besides the website?
44:22 Um, well, I have a documentary that I'm really proud of that we sold
44:27 the Hulu and now you could go to like, uh, to be or wherever and it's free
44:32 is, uh, it's called skin, a history of nudity in the movies.
44:35 And, uh, it's really good.
44:36 We interviewed a bunch of celebrities.
44:38 It's, it's got like over a hundred nude scenes and it's.
44:41 Starts from Thomas Edison and the invention of movies all the way up to
44:46 the me too movement and, uh, we cover all the greatest nude scenes of
44:50 all time in the documentary.
44:51 And it's, uh, yeah, something I'm really proud of.
44:53 Uh, uh, you know, produced it and put up the money, but, uh, it's doing
44:58 really well and, um, uh, like I said, you could go to any of those
45:01 freemium places and get it.
45:03 When did it come out?
45:04 Uh, 2020.
45:08 Okay.
45:08 Perfect.
45:09 But it's like doing really, it did really well at Hulu.
45:12 I just didn't sell it to them for enough money.
45:14 And now that it's at those, all those free platforms, you know, now we're
45:18 making money because it, it's like every time it, it's like, you know, if you
45:22 get a lot of YouTube views, you get ad revenue, it's the same thing.
45:25 So anyway, if people want to check it out, it's a great documentary.
45:28 Good.
45:29 Well, yeah, go check that out on Tubi or any of those other kind of free
45:32 sites that have ads and, uh, go check out mrskin.com.
45:36 Mr.
45:36 Skin.
45:36 Thanks.
45:37 Yeah.
45:37 Thanks for having me, Eddie.
45:38 I really appreciate it.
45:38 Yeah, no, I appreciate it.
45:39 This was fun.
45:40 Interesting.
45:41 Perverted.
45:42 It was all the above.
45:43 All wrapped in one.
45:44 Yeah, that's it everybody.
45:46 Thank you for listening.
45:47 Thank you for watching.
45:48 Uh, we will see you all on Monday.
45:49 Bye.
45:50 Bye.
45:50 (whooshing)
45:52 (whooshing)
