Architectural vision of Wallace E Cunningham, the innovative and intuitive Southern California architect whose buildings reveal light and embody motion and spirituality. His works reflect the architect’s belief that “buildings are not just visual…buildings need to radiate emotion.”
This 30 minute documentary was made for Architects, Architectural students and people who have an interest in architecture as an art. As such this is an intellectual piece, based around the writings of New York Times - 40 year architectural critic Joseph Giovannini.
The work included editing the original writings of Joseph Giovannini to create a script, with additional text needing to be written.
Editing the limited available video footage in a coherent way to best explain the design philosophies underpinning the work of Wallace E Cunningham.
The difficulty with the project was the limited footage and quality of the source material - for example, too slow a frame rate had been used for the speed of a drone. A.I. was used to make up for the missing frames and smooth out the juddering. Re-grading was also required on some of the footage.
